About the property

2 Bedrooms 2 Baths, Will Sleep Six, Ocean Front, Private Yard

A perfect relaxing beach retreat; the oceanfront town home has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and is just 40 feet from the Bluff and stairs to Beacon's beach. This is the only home in this area with a large oceanfront grass yard. The home is perfect for families to comfortably spend time inside and outside together. The home has just been completely remodeled inside and out and has an updated look along with the character Encinitas is famous for.

The home includes 2 private parking spots, 2 soft surfboards, boogie boards, beach chairs, and beach toys. Just arrive and you are ready for a wonderful day at the beach. The bedrooms are well acquainted with Queen beds and matching bedroom sets. For larger groups, we have two convertible futons, each with sheet and comforter set. The entire home is very nicely furnished and well outfitted for our guests.

The area is the quintessential 1960's beach town, with modern splashes of luxury and tons of eclectic soul. The home is just 50 feet from the stunning cliffs the boast views of the entire coastline, and the stairs that lead down to world class, Beacons Beach. The home is also just blocks away from several great places to eat or have a drink.

It is a short walk to Coast Hwy where you will find unique boutiques, mouth watering Mexican food, local coffee houses, antique stores, a new and used record store, and so much more! Stroll down a little further on the weekends and stop by the Seaside Bazaar, North County's only open-air market. At night, enjoy home cooking in your oceanfront rental, or check out one of the local neighborhood restaurants such as Calypso cafe, a small place serving up great food with local bands playing every night. Or maybe you would enjoy Bar Leucadian, a neighborhood bar that has been there since 1946, and has live music, pool tables, and no cover charge!

Historic Coast Highway also just blocks away, is home to trendy restaurants, chic boutiques and art studios - great for walking around in the sunshine. The Old Coast Highway continues south through Old Encinitas, through the heart of our lost-in-time 'old downtown' - right past Swami's Beach. Legoland is only a 10 min drive (about 6 miles) and we are about a 30 min drive to Sea World and the San Diego International Airport. The San Diego Botanical Gardens are 2.5 miles away and is a very beautiful place to visit.

Beacon's is still a 'surfer's heaven' where you can watch the greatest surfers in the world practice their skills every day.

We are just a 6 min drive to legoland and about a 30 min drive to Sea World and Lindberg Field.

About Richard Norwood

My name is Richard Norwood and I built my first vacation rental in Pacific Beach on Tourmaline St., ten years ago. I recently decided to expand on our success and provide a North County Beach Property for our clients. I have spent over two months going over every detail and I am excited to say that I am very pleased with the product and I am excited to share it with the upcoming guests. After I graduated from UCLA, I was a high school teacher and would eventually like to go back into teaching, however, Real Estate has always paid the bills. I also own an operate an outdoor adventure company, sending clients all over the world. I am an avid fisherman and love my two dogs Sadie and Mia.

Please don't hesitate to ask about the many local experiences we can offer our clients.

ex. Bonfire at the beach, Catered Dinner at the Beach, Fishing Trips, kayaking, San Diego Tours and much more!

Richard Norwood purchased this townhome in 1986

Why Richard Norwood chose Encinitas

This property is amazing. The large Oceanfront grass front yard makes for one of the most unique beach homes available in this area, as well as the ocean view and wonderful sunsets.

What makes this townhome unique

Walking distance to great restaurants and only 50ft to Beacon's Beach. Enjoy nightly sunsets and an ocean view from your front yard!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Richard's house in Encinitas was absolutely perfect! We had 6 guests and everyone slept very comfortably and having two updated and spotless bathrooms really helped as well. The best part about the house (other than all of the beach accessories) is of course the proximity to the beach right across the street. We ended up doing sunset picnics and lots of random trips down just to watch the surfers since the location was so convenient. We also rented bikes in Encinitas and enjoyed cruising around quite a bit. There are several cute restaurants including a winery and legit coffee shop within a block from the house. I will definitely recommend staying at this perfect beach getaway and look forward to coming back (hopefully) very soon!

Great location. Bed in master did not suit us.

  • 4 of 5

Management team is first rate. House was clean and the location is fantastic. Outdoor area is really great for kids. The bed in the master bedroom is poor but the one in the guest bedroom is high quality.

Our biggest issue was with the renters above us. One group flicked their cig butts over the balcony into our space. Found them in my shoes. They were also very loud. I don't know if the walls are thin or if they were break dancing.

Loved the location...BUT!

  • 3 of 5

Loved the location...BUT! Got there to a clean house with someone (friends of the people staying in unit above) parked in our parking space. House is nice...patio outside with BBQ was good, 2 large bedrooms and nice sized beds and 2 sofas that make into beds. Bathrooms are small but sufficient. Restaurants and stores just a few minutes away. Now a few suggestions...there are TV's in bedrooms and one in living room...but the package they offer is not much more than the very basic Direct TV. Local channels and most of the other free channels that I'm pretty sure most people don't watch. For just a few more dollars per month we could watch things like ESPN (zero sports available) and CNN and Bravo etc. Managers only leave a couple of trash bags, only 2 dishwashing pods for dishes, one extra roll of toilet paper and a minimum amount of towels and what beach towels there are need a serious updating (very small and thin). There are beach chairs and toys etc...that was nice. The internet, according to my wife and kids, was very weak and cut off frequently. We stayed 4 nights and it suited our needs well. If location is your thing, it's a 5 minute walk down the bluffs to the water. We've stayed in Encinitas twice and both times the houses were beautiful and FULLY equipped. I'll look at staying in those again. If you choose to stay here I would just remember that if you think you'll need it, you best bring it.

The perfect home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this property and we enjoyed it even more than the last visit. Access to the beach is unmatched and having the grass yard for my children to play in is amazing. The condo comes with all the amenities that are needed and is conveniently located to walk to restaurants and stores. There is a train that comes through town that can be noisy but I grew up in Encinitas and the train is part of the towns charm. We enjoyed everything about our stay and we look forward to staying here again next year!

We love this location!

  • 4 of 5

This was our second time staying here and hope to come back next year! The location is great. We love the walk across the street to the beach and the short walk down the hill to a few restaurants. We have kids 9 and 10 yrs so it's been a great spot for our family. On site laundry is a great amenity and of course WiFi. We also used the beach chairs and boogie boards. The fold down beds seemed uncomfortable to me but my daughter said she slept great. The memory foam bed was much more appreciated by me! Thanks again, Richard.

Property was perfect and so close to the beach!

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised at how close we were to the beach, literally steps. The property was clean and had everything we needed. We loved having all the beach gear available to us too. The fenced yard was perfect for our small dog. I would definitely stay here again. And the best part? Our son got engaged on the beach right there!

Few steps from the beach

  • 5 of 5

Very nice appartment on the first floor of the house. Nice little garden in front of Beacon beach. Very comfortable rooms for four persons. Kids can use coach in each room. Beacon beach is a nice beach but you have to go down the track to get there and of course go up to go back to the house. Beautiful sunsets . We have been in this rental two times already and liked it very much. We will get back there happily. Convenients parking lots.

PS : the washing machines in the laundry room need coins , sometines it wasn't very easy to get the change.
