A beautifully restored trullo that offers outstanding accommodation in a breath taking hill top setting overlooking the Val D'Itria. This is a spacious and well appointed trullo property that has been thoughtfully restored retaining the charm and character of the "trullo" that is characteristic only in this region of Italy. Nestled in the countryside and yet only 5 minutes from the famous town of Alberobello it offers a high degree of seclusion being set within it's own expansive grounds with 100 olive trees, as well as almonds, figs walnut and cherry. The approach to the property is along pretty stone walled, country lanes dotted with farmhouses and trullis where you will see local Italian farmers taking a pride in tending their land and olive trees.
The property offers privacy and amazing, far reaching views over the Val D'Itria. This is a character property with trulli cones, vaulted ceilings, stone walls and stone and marble floors. The property is well designed, retaining all the character of the traditional trullo whilst offering very spacious and flexible accommodation spread across 2 wings. The layout offers a rare opportunity to benefit from some independent living with additional cooking/bathroom facilties and relaxation areas or indeed enables smaller parties to spread out and enjoy the luxury of more space. We are set up for families with babies and are able to supply cots, highchairs as well as the smaller but important items such as steriliser, changing mats, baby bath, childrens cutlery and crockery etc making this a popular choice for young families.
There are different outdoor areas to relax and enjoy. The trullo has a large private heated pool, a poolside gazebo and comfortable high quality sunbeds, all set in an enclosed garden (that is gated and lockable - a further safety consideration) in an elevated position. In addition there are 2 further seating areas immediately surrounding the property. To the South (front aspect) the property has an extensive patio that is set up with a permanent large marble table offering an alfresco dining option under the shade of a terracotta canopy roof structure. The East patio offers a wonderful setting for watching the sun rise and breakfast alfresco or enjoying shaded dining in the heat of the day. There are quality aluminium tables and chairs on all patios as well as poolside. The roof terrace offers another experience, particularly at sunset where cocktails can be enjoyed whilst taking in the far reaching views across the valley.
The games room offers good entertainment to both children and adults alike and we have bikes available for guest use (x2 adult bikes and x2 11-14yrs approx. age) we can also arrange additional bike hire. We also have set up for guests access to a range of services including tours, pasta cooking evenings, and inhouse dining with a local chef preparing and serving a wonderful Puglian dinner in the comfort of the trullo. There is reliable wireless internet that is accessible throughout the property and also outside.
The setting of the trullo is what makes this property really stand out from the many being advertised. It is accessed from beautiful country lanes (ideal for walking and cycling) It's set in its' own grounds on a hill surrounded by olive, cherry and almond trees with the most fabulous uninterrupted and panoramic views across the countryside to the Val D'Itria. The views are stunning by both day and night. It is just so peaceful - no traffic or aircraft noise at all. The only thing you will hear is the sound of hens, sheep and occasional dogs barking. The large roof top area is a great place to watch the sun go down and for star gazers it truly is a paradise with little light pollution to get in the way. The property is secluded but not isolated. The closest neighbour is situated nearby at the end of the long drive who are typical elderly Italian farmers who are very kind but keep to themselves but they do not overlook the property in any way. Other neighbouring properties are dotted around on the approach but not visible from this wonderful property. If you are looking for privacy, seclusion but within easy distance of the unique and wonderful town of Alberobello then this will suit you perfectly.

The wings are configured as follows:
1. East Wing - this has its' own entrance off the south facing patio and is the traditional trullo wing, with beautiful cream stone trullo cones, in the main living area (snug) that add great character to the property. There is a main seating area in the large cone where the music system, TV etc are set up. There are in addition 2 smaller cones - one set up like a small office area, with desk, the other as a quiet relaxation area with easy chairs. A central fireplace separates this room from the dining room and kitchen area. Off this room are 2 large bedrooms (one set up as a double, the other as a twin) and 2 bathrooms with showers. There is a back door onto the east facing covered eating area and patio. Cream stone floors throughout with good quality (antique and modern) furnishings and very comfortable beds with white cotton bedding. The kitchen in here is small but well equipped with its' own oven, hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
2. West Wing - this has its' own entrance off the south facing patio and is the larger wing and is a traditional style Italian building with tall ceilings, stone and marble floors. The main room is an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge. The kitchen is well equipped with its' own oven, hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. A breakfast bar offers a nice area for preparing food and for socialising whilst you cook. There is a dining area opposite with an extendable table and then a comfortable seating area with sofas and TV. The 4 bedrooms are accessed through a door (which does mean you are able to close off the bedrooms if you have young children from any noise happening in the living area) off this room and are situated along a corridor along with 2 bathrooms with showers. There are 2 good size double rooms with large double beds, a twin room and a single room. All bedrooms in both wings have mosquito nets and portable fans.
The grounds are extensive and completely surround the property on all sides. The wider grounds are planted with olive, cherry and almond trees and left in their natural state, the grass just being kept cut. The grounds closer to the property have been landscaped and planted with shrubs and trees. The pool area is separate and is another landscaped area that has been enclosed with stone walling, railings and is gated. The gate can be locked using a combination padlock that we leave available for guests. The pool is heated and retains a good temperature for swimming even in the off peak weeks, there is also a cover for the pool so when the nights are cooler this cover retains the heat overnight. The pool is open from April to end October.
There are many choices of seating area all having differing aspects. The south facing patio has a covered eating area and a large in situ marble table and chairs with a further extension of the patio that is under Italian oak trees that offer natural shade. Both wings have direct access onto this patio. There is an east facing patio again with covered seating area, set up with a good size round aluminium table and chairs and extends beyond the covered area for sunbathing etc
There is extensive patio area for seating surrounding the pool area as well as a covered gazebo to offer poolside shaded relaxation/ dining as an option.
There is external lighting in all these areas that is time controlled so will come on automatically together with pool lights.
Finally there is an extensive roof terrace that is accessed through a locked gate at the rear of the property with a flight of stone steps that accesses onto the whole roof area. There is a light that lights up the steps but the roof terrace is unlit so as to benefit from the amazing vista of stars. It's a great place to sit on the low walls and take in the views at sunset.
