A Great Vacation Spot

  • 4 of 5

If what you are looking for is a beautiful, quiet spot to chill out, this is the place. The house is impeccable and the location is great: surrounded by trees and a short walk to the lake. There's a beautiful gas grill and a fire ring. That said, it is somewhat isolated. The nearest supermarket is 20-25 miles away; the same for most restaurants. Also, if you are coming to the area to visit Mammoth Cave National Park, figure on a good 40-50 minute drive (including a picturesque ferry ride.) My wife and I and our three grandsons enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Quiet with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

Really close to Mammoth caves (be sure to take the green river ferry). One of the best VRBO stocked kitchens we stayed at with almost everything you need to make meals. We love to cook so this was perfect for us. The place is immaculately clean and has a great feel to it. If i had to give one word of advice, it would be to ask if the lake is low. We wanted to go fishing everyday but the lake was so low the dock was literally sitting on the bank and we had to walk the water bed about 100 yards to get to a fishable spot. I would just ask the owners to verify, overall this is a great getaway spot.

Great family memories

  • 4 of 5

My family had a great weekend stay at the lake house. The kids loved the money scavenger hunt and had a great time thinking up clues to leave the next visitors.

Such a great house to spend Thanksgiving!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights at this lake house and we absolutely loved it! The house is super clean, the kitchen has everything you need, the grill is awesome, we couldn't use the fire pit because of the open fire ban but I'm pretty sure it would have been lovely. The lake is a short walk from the house and we took beautiful pictures. Mammoth Cave Park was about 30 minutes away and we rode the Green River Ferry to get there. This is a very nice property and the owners take great pride in it, you can tell by how the house is kept.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in many places over the years and this, by far, was one of my top two favorites! The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of blankets and linens and we thoroughly enjoyed both the front and back porches. I did have a question about the fireplace and the owner responded immediately and was very helpful and wanted to ensure that our stay was great. I can definitely say that we will stay here again next time we are in the area!

The house was very nice & appliances all worked as they should..

  • 4 of 5

The house was modern, lots of electrical outlets for recharging batteries, cell phone, computer. WiFi worked very well. TV & DVD player & House phone worked fine. CAN Opener's how ever need replaced. Well done by the builder. I really liked the flooring, nice touch. Now one downside. The Driveway is one of the worst. Loose stones & ruts. I only mention this because I dumped my motorcycle trying to get up it. If your traveling on a MC, beware it is steep. If the driveway was cement or black-top I would give this place a 6 star rating. GPS address took us right to the Driveway. The game in the book was fun, you have to read it to know what it is. If you rent this house, turn on some lights outside if your going to be coming back after dark. IT IS DARK AT NIGHT.

Our stay was 4 days

Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc ? Yes

Was the property clean and well-maintained ? All but -- Door locks had to be sprayed with some lube to make them work.

Did the owner provide good customer service ? Yes

Would you recommend this property to your friends or relatives ? Yes if not on MC.

What activities, attractions and restaurants did you like or dislike near by ? The roads were great to Ride our Goldwing on, we were all over the place. Mammoth Cave, Crystal Caverns, Diamond cave or caverns were interesting
