These bedrooms are right next to bathroom with huge shower,w/ hot water. Ceiling fans in every room, Large kitchen, if you love to cook, with everything you will need to cook the fish you catch, or your favorite meal, coffee pot, toaster, toaster oven, smoothie machine, perfect for your fruit smoothies, make from Costa Rica awesome FRESH FRUITS, stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, all the dishes, pots & pans, washer, also has a stationary grill, right next to the awesome Tiki / Rancho we had built, that's were you will eat your meals, relax in the hammocks, or use your electronics, the pool is perfect, floats and lounge chairs for your pleasure. Property is VERY private,1 3/4 acres that butts up to a teak farm and jungle behind the pool, so the monkeys, sloth, friendly (Iguanas) (that love fruit) various beautiful birds are always close by, perfect for photos and videos, The Parrots visit twice a day morning and happy hour, and have since 2006, so awesome to watch and hear. The casa sets back from the Hotel next door, so you don't even know it is there, but it is a very nice feature to have in case you want good food or a cocktail, The beaches are the best around, quite, black, warm, soft sand is perfect for walks on the beach, We also have a Lady who gives the best massages right on the beach, so relaxing, listening to the waves, and the breeze is perfect, a great way just to unwind and forget about work, Her Name and number are available upon request. Also we found wonderful places to eat and party, or just chill, We always go to The Pelican Hotel on Esterillos-Este or the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see, It is 4 mile from our casa, but all the beaches by the casa are gorgeous, the closest beach is just 2 1/2 miles from casa, The casa sets right between Jaco Beach and Manuel Antonio, Jaco 25 minutes away, Perfect place for shopping, restaurants, night life, casinos, Manual Antonio is a must see, 25 minutes away, Beautiful white sand beaches, offering massages on beach, boat activities, awesome restaurants and shopping too, our Favorite spot, You will find all sorts of activities, all within 30 minutes from casa. National Park, Quad and zip line tours, Party boat on the (Ocean King) in Quepos, also Deep sea fishing with Quepos Fishing, Perfect for catching the big ones!!! Waterfalls, Horseback riding, Surfing on Hermosa Beach, 20 minutes toward Jaco, Or take a Day Trip to the Valcano, or Rain Forest, well worth the trip.We recommend you have a tour guide or a driver take you. We also recommend you rent a car, a 4x4 is highly recommended if you are an explorer. You can rent a car from the airport and drive to the casa, try to get a morning flight and arrive by 1pm, It's hard to drive at night, and the roads directions and signs are difficult. get a driver to pick us up,$100 and rent a car in Jaco, Just an option, much easier than taking the buses, but if you do take buses, the bus stop is a 8 minute walk from casa. We have the best restaurants also, here is a list of the best ones we found, Pito's, Hot dog & beer wagon, Pelican Hotel, We have a list of all of them at the house & where they are, also there are brochures of all kinds of activities at the casa. The pool service will make sure the pool is perfectly clean everyday. There is maid service available, you would pay her directly, $20 to clean, very trust worthy, they have been with us since we bought the casa. We do ask that you run the air conditioner only when you are in the bedrooms napping or sleeping at night, to save energy, The air conditioner get VERY COLD!!!! About Mark and Cindy Wenzel

Hi, We are Mark and Cindy Wenzel, We live in Wilmot, Wisconsin, where we have our own business, Wenzel Siding & Roofing, for 33 years, since the winters are SO brutal here, & We love Costa Rica, been going for 12 years and finally found our perfect piece of heaven on earth, On the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, We looked for 3 years until we found the casa for us. I lived in Vero Beach, Florida for 25 years before moving to Wisconsin and marring my childhood sweetheart, Mark, We both were born in Waukegan, Illinois. We spent the winters in Costa Rica for the last 5 years, Just this year we have decided to rent our casa out, so others can enjoy all the beauty Costa Rica has to offer. If the casa is rented when we go, January- March, we can visit other parts of Costa Rica's awesome beauty.

Mark and Cindy Wenzel purchased this house in 2007

Why Mark and Cindy Wenzel chose Puntarenas

Well we looked for 3 years, either the places were to far up the moutains on very rough roads, or in noisy towns, like Jaco or Quepos, when we came across this property I knew right away this was it,Brand new casa, We put the pool in, screens on windows, and had the Rancho/Tiki built, It's perfect, and only a 25 minute drive if we want to go to the big towns, but Parrita is only 6 minutes from our casa, where we do our Grocery shopping,Fresh fruit markets, Awesome Bakery, Pharmacy,Liquor store, it's just your local Tiko Town. Just a few minutes to the beach, plus we have the monkeys, sloth, you don't see in the big towns or on the beach, best of both worlds, love this property!!!!!

What makes this house unique

Casa Marko Cindy has a Beautiful rancho, 10 degrees cooler under tiki which is wonderful at times when chillin' in hammocks, or rocking in the rocking chairs. sunning or lounging by the pool, quite, lots of wildlife, perfect place to read that novel, while listening to the birds sing, two outdoor eating areas, lush jungle property, with lots of beauty, flowers, palms, just what you would expect to see in such a tropical paradise, comfortable beds and clean soft pillows, nice sheets. I'm fussy about my bedding, It has to be relaxing and comfortable to get a good night sleep,,,,ENJOY,,,,,, PLEASE NO SMOKING IN CASA, thank You.

Girls getaway

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on Sept. 2 for a 10 day 6 girl getaway. I knew this was going to be a good trip, but let me tell you....it was fantastic!!! We rented a car and we are so glad we did because we put 1000 miles on it throughout our stay. This place is so convenient to everything. We woke up to birds singing and you just lay there and listen because its such a beautiful song. We would have our coffee (Britt coffee, its the local and its delish) on the porch every morning. Then we would plan our day...but I gotta tell ya, there's no hurry cause you really don't have to leave this house!! It is so comfortable and nice, the hammocks are right there for your pleasure, the pool is only a few steps away, the tiki is nice and shady, the birds and wildlife are pure entertainment.

The beaches are absolutely gorgeous and you can't beat the sunsets.

If you have ever (or never) been to Costa Rica, this is THE place to stay, and the owners are very accommodating. I am already looking forward to a return trip.

Well worth it!

  • 4 of 5

arrived June 8- June 14, 2016- We were a group of 11, which included 8 adults and 3 kids (4,5, &9). The house was spacious, we used the three bedrooms and the futon in the living room. There were a couple of issues but nothing major. The people are very friendly and the owners especially Cindy are very helpful. The pool is beautiful and is well maintained. We had dinner under the cabana many nights. We also used a local cook Paula and Jerry, they were on time everyday and the food was amazing, also very accommodating. Cindy can provide you with the information. The only draw back is that there were some items in the fridge and cabinets. Which made it hard to store food or keep track of what was our and what wasn't because everyone in our group was buying things. Also there is no clothes dryer, so if you go to the beach everyday and it rains outside the towels do not dry in time to be used the next day. Finally one of the bedrooms does not have a/c, which at night was not too bad but falling asleep at 7 or 8pm in a hot room was difficult but it did cool down during the night. The house more than makes up for those small set backs. The property is really nice, safe and secure. Luis and Carmen are very helpful and Gavello is the maintenance guy but there is no contact information for him listed. We scheduled to have the cleaning lady come in two days but somehow it did not get booked, but Luis was able to get a cleaning lady from the hotel next door. The people in the area are very friendly and everyone is willing to help you, or find you someone that can. I wouldn't mind returning and would definitely recommend the house but with those tips given. Ask the owner for the contact of the person who is supposed to let you in the house before the arrival, they are not on site like other home rentals. Oh I forgot to mention all of the animals, the monkeys came to visit us while we were at the pool.Toucans, black squirrels, and something that liked to scratch on the garage door! LOL!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review, we are working on making everything better for the stay, the scratching was Ms. Iguana she lives in the gutter above garage/ bedroom, she has been part of our Family for 5 years, she loves fruit!!! When she comes down from roof we put fresh fruit for her on the deck and take pics all the iguanas are so cool!!! We need another AC unit in 3rd bedroom (4 sure ) but the dryer I'm not sure ,,, we do have a close line by patio that I use the 3 months we are there, electric is SOOO high there and dryers are the worst!!!! Next to AIR, we need better wifi for the guest who have to work , and Yes Luis and Carmen are wonderful , and Having Letecha come in and Clean is a MUST !!! Thanks again!!! PURA VIDA

Perfect for Families

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at this lovely home in Costa Rica. We were 2 families with small children and it was the perfect size for us. Having the pool was ideal when we got home from a long day out and the kids wanted more time in the water. It was also lovely to hang out under the palapa at night when the kiddos went to bed. We used the grill with carbon to grill up fish and shrimp many nights. The house had everything that we needed to cook our own meals and save money. The hosts were super helpful and prompt with anything that we needed to know about the house and area. They put us in contact with their friends at El Pelicano and we spent a lot of time using their beach access, pools, restaurant and bar. The owners there were also really friendly and helpful. The only down side was the internet. It was advertised as having internet and one of the people in our group need it to complete work while we were away. You could not look up anything and barely could send an e-mail. We had to go to a restaurant in order to get any internet service. Do not rent this house and expect to do work online.

Wonderful time

  • 4 of 5

I rented this house for New Year's Eve with my family and it was an excellent choice. The house is spacious, the pool is well maintained, the wildlife around the property is precious and the only downsides would be the distance to the beach (you must have a car to move around) and the fact that there was no AC in one of the rooms (the smallest one). The property is very private but it doesn't mean it's isolated (there's a hotel right besides it). Be sure to close the windows/doors, as little scorpions and other unwanted visitors might invade your room if you don't do it.

Another thing to mention: we had to leave the house in a rush, as the owners failed to inform us the correct checkout hours - initially they informed us we could go in the afternoon but then we were told we had to leave until 12pm, because some other people rented the house, which was unexpected and ruined our lunch plans.

Overall, we had a fantastic time, we enjoyed the surrounding beaches, being in the swimming pool and the hammocks afternoon naps. Pura vida.

Laura

My first experience in Costa Rica couldn't have been better. I got to enjoy this beautiful country with my daughter and grandson. The house was awesome, people we met were very nice and helpful. We got to enjoy the monkeys everyday in the backyard, among other wild life. Places we ventured to, which wasn't far from the house we enjoyed greatly. Zip lining, horseback riding on the beach, etc. Lots to do and experience. Thank you Cindy and Mark for sharing your house with us, looking forward to returning again..

Great rental! Very accommodating!

  • 5 of 5

I took my mom and my 8 year old son on vacation to the house for 9 days and WE LOVED IT! My son loves to swim and we all really enjoyed the pool. We strung up the hammocks and relaxed by the pool under the tiki gazebo. There's a basket in the tree to put your left over fruits in for the animals so we got to see a bunch of monkeys right in the back yard! We rented a 4x4 vehicle and drove approx 1200 miles scouting the area, checking out beaches, waterfalls, going shopping, and getting lost in costa rica! Driving around was super adventurous all on its own, but you are sure to see the macaws, toucans, sloths, and monkeys just about everywhere you go. Returning to the house at night after our adventurous days was very relaxing. The house had everything we needed to make homecooked meals, and mix fresh fruit drinks and smoothies. Everything was clean and cozy and we couldn't have asked for more accomodating owners! I will highly recommend staying here to anyone wanting a costa rica getaway. The beach is lovely at sunset and not far at all. We rode horses for 3 hours down the beach in parrita and met really wonderful locals during our stay. I can't wait to go back!

close to beaches, mountains, waterfalls, restaurants, bars, town, or you can just relax at Casa Marko Cindy by the pool or in a hammock, reading a book, or watching all the awesome birds and iguanas, and monkey's early in the morning or late afternoon, we have the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, seriously, we have traveled all over and always say, we have the best beaches, must see is Manual Antonio, Best restaurants, Must go to Ronny's for sunset and homemade Sangria, El Avion, for food, cocktails and awesome views. The hot dog and beer wagon for killer hot dogs and homemade pizza's and salads, and a really cool setting. The quad and zip line tours are so much fun, you will get dirty though, part of the fun. Also The Pelican in Esterillos Este is our Favorite beach and place to go for sunset, 4 miles from Casa, great People, Food and Jeison and Marko make awesome cocktails, and they have real good food, Mike and Diana are the hosts, they are wonderful, another place we love is Pito's Que Comemos for dinner, tucked away in the palms a very typical Tiko place but with awesome made to order food, so relax and enjoy, Seabass, Huge Shrimp, fresh Guacamole, Pork, really good!!!,
