This duplex within the larger Spruce Grove complex is very comfortable, welcomes up to four guests and their beloved dogs, and has access to amazing community amenities like a shared hot tub, large enclosed yard, and a picnic area!

Located on the east end of town, this cabin is within a short walk of a few restaurants, and about a mile from the slopes at Heavenly, the beaches and sparkling blue water of Lake Tahoe, and the eateries, shops, and entertainment of downtown! What makes this cabin special is its immediate surroundings: a large, completely enclosed, grassy yard where children and dogs can play. Doggy clean-up stations are provided for everyone's convenience and to keep the area looking (and smelling!) fresh and clean. You will love sitting in this common area, enjoying the peace and quiet while the sunlight filters through the tall trees!

Step into this one-bedroom, one-bathroom home to find a cozy living room with seating arranged in front of the gorgeous gas fireplace. Watch some cable TV, use the DVD player, access the WiFi, or simply sit quietly and relax in front of the flickering flames. Just past the living room is a kitchen with all the basic appliances and tools you may need to cook delicious meals during your stay.

Head upstairs to find the bedroom, which features a large and comfortable king-size bed. Downstairs, a queen-size sofabed provides even more sleeping space so up to four lucky guests can stay here and sleep soundly while dreaming of another day of adventures. No vacation is complete without your furry four-legged friends so you are more than welcome to bring your dogs on vacation with you! Please note that there is an additional fee.

Outside, you can enjoy the shared amenities in the small community. A safe, enclosed yard is a perfect place for children and dogs to roam, guests can use the gas grills and picnic tables to have a BBQ-style meal, and the adults will love soaking in the hot tub and letting the warm water melt away all their stress!

The Prospector cabin is a fantastic place for a small family or two couples to stay while they take advantage of all the amazing activities nearby. You could even invite more family and friends to book the neighboring Spruce Grove cabins and enjoy a fabulous vacation with all of your loved ones!

No matter how you spend your vacation, this cozy cabin with lots of community amenities will keep you happy, well-rested, and relaxed during your visit!

Overall not terrible, but not what we expected.

  • 3 of 5

The place itself wasn't bad, it just was not what we expected. We were under the impression that we had a fenced in backyard, which is the whole reason we chose this property. It's a fenced in , shared, front yard with about 5 other houses. We were able to let our dogs run free while we were there, but had to keep them locked up when we left, which wasn't ideal. It's also VERY tiny. It would be fine for one couple who was hitting the mountains all day, but for our family of 4 it was way too cramped to be comfortable. However, it was very clean which is definitely appreciated.

Enjoyed Our Stay

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed for 4 days and while this place is definitely rustic and the cabin was small, it was just what we needed.

The grounds were much smaller than I expected but they were clean and well maintained, and very peaceful.

Some jets didn't work in the hot tub but I am okay with that.

The stairs are steep, expect a workout. Had all the basics that we needed in the kitchen.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

We'll for sure stay again.

Basic but functional accommodations. Short-drive to California lodge and Gondola (Heavenly Resort).

Small but had its pluses

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here with our two young kinds during the winter. Great location, near Heavenly and restaurants. It is tiny and a bit cramped but it's fine if your plan is to be on the slopes all day.

It's run down but has everything you need. Hot tub was awesome.

Great location and peaceful residence

  • 5 of 5

This was a great stay. it was close to everything.very cozy. place looked just as described with new pots and pans. the fireplace was neat. we also had a power outage because of the lovely snowstorm but they did a great job of restoring service..

only thing i might recommend is since there is no TV upstairs maybe the couch can be a little bit more comfy in order to lay by the fireplace and watch tv..

all in all i would rent it again without a doubt.

Stayed here for a ski weekend with some friends and our pup. Great location, good kitchen for easy meals, and a comfortable place to sleep.
