About the property

House, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 4

Come stay at The Prospector cabin when you visit South Lake Tahoe and get ready to have a wonderful vacation! This duplex within the larger Spruce Grove complex is very comfortable, welcomes up to four guests and their beloved dogs, and has access to amazing community amenities like a shared hot tub, large enclosed yard, and a picnic area!

This cabin shares its fenced yard, its hot tub, and the rest of the property with six other cabins: the Bear's Den, Snowshoe, Washoe, Steamer Tahoe, Field and Stream, and Pioneer. A group of up to 34 people can rent them all together as the Spruce Grove Cabin Retreat (please call Vacasa for details).

Located on the east end of town, this cabin is within a short walk of a few restaurants, and about a mile from the slopes at Heavenly, the beaches and sparkling blue water of Lake Tahoe, and the eateries, shops, and entertainment of downtown! What makes this cabin special is its immediate surroundings: a large, completely enclosed, grassy yard where children and dogs can play. Doggy clean-up stations are provided for everyone's convenience and to keep the area looking (and smelling!) fresh and clean. You will love sitting in this common area, enjoying the peace and quiet while the sunlight filters through the tall trees!

Step into this one-bedroom, one-bathroom home to find a cozy living room with seating arranged in front of the gorgeous gas fireplace. Watch some cable TV, use the DVD player, access the WiFi, or simply sit quietly and relax in front of the flickering flames. Just past the living room is a kitchen with all the basic appliances and tools you may need to cook delicious meals during your stay.

Head upstairs to find the bedroom, which features a large and comfortable king-size bed. Downstairs, a queen-size sofabed provides even more sleeping space, so up to four lucky guests can sleep soundly while dreaming of another day of adventures. No vacation is complete without your furry four-legged friends, so you are more than welcome to bring your dogs on vacation with you! Please note that there is an additional fee.

Outside, you can enjoy the shared amenities in the small community. A safe, enclosed yard is a perfect place for children and dogs to roam, guests can use the gas grills and picnic tables to have a BBQ-style meal, and the adults will love soaking in the hot tub and letting the warm water melt away all their stress!

The Prospector cabin is a fantastic place for a small family or two couples to stay while they take advantage of all the amazing activities nearby. You could even invite more family and friends to book the neighboring Spruce Grove cabins and enjoy a fabulous vacation with all of your loved ones!

No matter how you spend your vacation, this cozy cabin with lots of community amenities will keep you happy, well-rested, and relaxed during your visit!

staff great room so so

  • 2 of 5

i was disappointed in the room the bed was old, lights not working, and the television was not working. the smoke alarm kept going off when i cooked. i think with a few upgrades to lamps, bed and overall cleanliness it would be a nice place.... the experience left me not wanting to use your facilities again. I let one day early because of these things.

Decent place, seems great for dogs!

  • 4 of 5

Overall, the place was clean, quiet, and private. For a place that allows dogs to stay, I'm sure it is quite a feat to keep things clean, so I was impressed by a lack of fur and smell. I'm athletic and I found the stairs to be a challenge. The bed was also sinking, but comfortable enough to get a good night of sleep. Definitely a simple, rustic place and very centrally located. I think it is slightly overpriced for what it is, but I would stay again.

Stayed 3 days ,1st night tripped on stairs no light in stair hall was working .Bed was very old and dipped in the middle. The 2nd day a cap was stolen off my truck parked right in front in the middle of the day.The hot tub was cold and the neighbors stayed up partying until 1:30-2 am when quiet hours are after 10pm.Will not stay here again.

Home away from home

  • 4 of 5

My boyfriend and I took our two service dogs to Lake Tahoe for the weekend and we all really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was the perfect size for two people, or even a small family since there's a spacious master bed upstairs and a pullout sofa bed in the living room. The pictures were a little misleading since we thought our cabin had its own fenced in backyard which wasn't the case. The entire property contains a few other cabins/duplexes and that whole property is fenced but the gate stayed open our entire stay. Overall the place was very homey and comfortable. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend this cabin.
