Why Linda Dravis chose Lake Champlain Valley

This cottage has been in my family since the late 1800's. It has been the center of many wonderful times. We have taken out interior walls, put in a rod iron spiral staircase, opened up the space . I also installed new electric, new plumbing, new front porch, new chimney. I hope that you will really enjoy your peaceful time here while respecting its 135 year age. Thank you!

Charming camp near Highgate Springs

  • 5 of 5

My brother and his wife and my wife and I enjoyed the small cottage tremendously. It was charming, quaint, and served as a perfect headquarters for our recent trip to Vermont to reunite with family, friends, and places we haven't visited in over 50 years. It is only a few minutes from the Canadian border (albeit crossing the border in either direction takes way more than a few minutes) which enabled us to dine one evening in St. Armand. Our stay in this camp won't be forgotten.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. It is truly a peaceful place that seems to slow me down and calm my spirit when I spend time there. I find it best to cross the border just to the easy of the busy I-89 crossing at Morse's Line, a small, quiet country road crossing. Just across that border crossing, there are many cite little French towns with antiques, wineries, pottery, berry picking and small cafés with crepes and croque Monsieur! Very French! Lots to explore on both sides of the border. Enjoy. :)

Camp was charming and we felt at home.

  • 5 of 5

Having vacationed with relatives on Mississquoi Bay over 50 years ago, staying at this camp was nostalgic and reminiscent of summer vacations in the 50s and 60s. This cottage is charming, comfortable, and simply a nice place to stay when visiting friends and relatives in the Highgate Springs area. We hated to leave.

Charming and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at this cabin and look forward to coming back. The owner was very helpful, responsive, and pleasant. The cabin is full of rustic charm, lovingly decorated and situated on a large, nicely landscaped lot with pretty views of the lake and very close lake access. The surrounding area is full of natural beauty, and we especially enjoyed the Mississquoi Wildlife Refuge, wine trail, and islands (North/South Hero and Grand Isle). Our dogs had a blast in the yard and in the lake, and we spent hours listening to the birds and reading on the screened porch. If luxury accommodations and night life are your things, you are traveling with someone who is mobility impaired, or you are looking for a place where you can kick back and easily keep an eye on the kids while they swim then this is probably not the place for you. If you like peace and quiet, charming old homes, and day trips to pretty places, we would recommend this cabin!

Camp on lake Champlain

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is in a beautiful, less traveled corner of Vermont, together with other "camps," which is what cabins in the woods on the lake are called up there. And it is like summer camp, but with a nicer place to stay. There is a lot of space outdoors, a tire swing that was the preferred perch for our kids, 6 and 9, and croquet. The rocky path to the lake nearest the cabin reminded me of the hike to the swimming hole at camp! (And there is an easier place to get to the lake down the road at the boat ramp.) The porch was a beautiful place to sit and watch the sun set or drink coffee in the morning. The kitchen was well equipped. I would caution folks with very young kids or who have trouble with stairs that this might not be the right house because of the spiral staircase to the bedrooms, which is also one of the features that makes this cabin so adorable. We would stay here again!

Adorable, rustic and very charming!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at this cottage! The owner was easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of extra towels and blankets. We especially enjoyed the large screened in porch with a lake view since we had some rain. We also loved playing croquet! The

lake access is the only negative since it is quite steep and rocky. We didn't mind but it would be tricky for kids or seniors.
