Great house for families/kids
Our group had an amazing time during our stay, and would highly recommend this property. The home itself exceeded our expectations and was even better in person than in the pictures. The sunsets and sea turtles were both amazing. We couldn't bribe our kids to get out of the pool - it was so nice having a pool at the house we were staying in! Everything was well stocked (the pantry, gear for the beach, etc.), which was really helpful. The nearby beaches were beautiful and great for the kids to play. You are definitely staying in a neighborhood with locals vs. a touristy part of the island, but this was perfect for us, and what we preferred. We were still able to get to the North Shore and Waikiki for day trips, but were definitely more comfortable staying in a more local/low-key location. My husband and I are already talking about planning another trip back in the future.
Family Reunion in Paradise
Where do I begin with this review. Everything from booking Scott & Robin's home was seamless. There were a total of 9 of us. 6 adults including grandparents and 3 children. Every time I reached out to Scott with any questions he was very responsive while we were planning our trip.
We arrived a little before check in and had the opportunity to meet Cruz, the caretaker. She was extremely friendly and made sure we knew she was available if we needed anything during our stay.
The home itself is absolutely beautiful and spacious allowing for our group to spread out and enjoy individual quiet time when wanted. The home was immaculate, and one of the things I most appreciated is that it was well stocked! Cruz keeps the pantry filled with many spices, cooking oils, and vinegars that you may want to cook with which is very helpful rather than needing to buy all of that stuff. There are grocery stores nearby, but we stopped at Costco on our way in which had a great selection for our large group.
The views were amazing! The beaches nearby were beautiful, and quiet which made for relaxation in between our day trips snorkeling at Koolina & trips to Waikiki, Diamond Head & Pearl Harbor. West Oahu Sup was great for surf lessons and booking the Paradise Cove Luau if you want to combine and get a discount. Not only is the home stocked with many cooking essentials, but there are plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, and even coolers if you want to pack a beach picnic. Literally you just need to show up with your flip flops, sunblock & towels.
Some of the reviews mentioned the tent city. There are some smaller tents around, but not too bad. If you are out for a run I would recommend going towards Makaha Beach and you won't pass them. We found the locals to be extremely welcoming during our stay.
All 9 of us gave this vacation rental a thumbs up! Thank you for your hospitality! We hope to return if we have the opportunity to come back to HI.
The posts about this property and the pictures not doing it justice are all true. On the last day of our trip we looked over the retaining wall managed to see a group of no less than five turtles feeding about 20 feet away and in the distance one last whale blowing spray into the air. It was surreal. The kids loved the pool so much that we never made it to the beach just swam in the pool the whole time. The home is very well kept and spacious. The owner is very considerate and provides you with a book of all the local things to do. The house is about 45 minutes from the airport and the city but that is the best part. Very low key very private. We were a party of 7 people and had a blast. Amenities were great, brand new washer and dryer top of the line. Two well appointed master bedrooms. loved every minute and plan on renting the house again. You will love this place.
A Diamond in the Rough, a perfect little piece of paradise!
We just got home from our very first Hawaiian vacation! This house is awesome, they have put such great detail into making your stay at this house perfect. The house is clean, the property manager is friendly, available and very helpful. The view from the back windows and upstairs bedrooms is everything you want in a Hawaiian vacation! The pool was amazing, clean, warm, beautiful tile work. The kitchen is beyond well stocked, loads of pool/beach towels, really cute well done decor. comfortable beds. The closest beach is a walk away and is a wonderful beach.
This house is located outside of the touristy Hawaii and puts you in a neighborhood with the locals. It is a mixture of homes but everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed immersing ourselves in true Hawaii culture. We enjoyed the Northshore, Pearl Harbor, Crater Hike, local beaches but really enjoyed the little piece of paradise which is this beautiful ocean front home. Ma halo!

Family Christmas Holiday
An absolutely beautiful, perfect home for our 3 families (6 adults + 4 kids).
Plenty of room - whether we were gathered in the kitchen, around the dining room table, on the couches in the living room and TV rooms and there were beds for everyone - even a playpen for our little one.
The pool was the highlight - so warm. All the kids' swimming abilities improved immediately - they had SO much fun in the water. Many hours were spent in the pool!
The house had everything we needed - plus more. The entire wall of glass sliding doors overlooking the pool and ocean was amazing!
We would definitely recommend this house - listening to the ocean waves, watching the sunsets and visiting the turtles on the nearby beach --- so many memories!
Thank you Robin and Scott

Terrific Location Right On The Water!
For those of us craving a more realistic trip to sample Hawaii, this house is perfectly located because it is in Makaha where the Hawaiian people actually live, not just serve drinks and make Meds!
The house is VERY open and airy and it required no AC. It HAS AC in the bedrooms, but none was necessary, despite a record-breaking heat streak of 90°!
The house is more gorgeous than the pictures imply. The waterfront cannot be described by pictures nor words! Falling asleep every night to the sound of waves is SO peaceful!
We saw the sea turtles right off the sea wall! We even saw some spinner dolphins from our backyard!
But we saw humpback whales breaching from our living room that opens via a giant 4-panel sliding glass door! In early November!
The kitchen is awesome and well-stocked! No need to buy spices and an opportunity to try new ones!
On to the things that need attention: the pool was heated...by the sun, not the broken pool-heater. I got locked in the downstairs bathroom with the spa because the door was off it's track. The main ceiling fan was inoperable (there ARE 10 more in the house, so not really a biggie) and the aforementioned spa tub had a crack and simply had a sign saying not to use it.
Our party was mostly impacted by the defunct pool heater as my mother is disabled and couldn't go swimming as soon as tghe heat wave dissipated. Toward the end of the trip I found myself taking hot showers after every swim.
Overall, very great and would return if the pool heater was repaired.
Sorry about the pool heater... I was assured this was repaired
By my pool manager....apparently that didn't happen
