Overview

About the property

Living and sleeping areas, kitchenette, shower and separate WC. Sleeps 2

This studio features a full width picture window opening on to a large, sunny terrace with exciting views of all Alcudia Bay from an elevated position. Its location is close enough to the very popular resort of Puerto Alcudia to enjoy its comprehensive amenities but is completely insulated from the busy holiday scene. All land & sea sports are readily available-superb golf courses, tennis, excellent waterside & mountain walks, water skiing, snorkeling, windsurfing & boat hire plus swimming a few minutes walk away or from one of the many beaches in the area. A variety of restaurants & shops, including several supermarkets are within easy reach as is a twice weekly market in the interesting old walled town of Alcudia and nearby Pollensa. The self contained accommodation has a large double bed, sitting area, kitchenette, spacious fully tiled shower and separate WC. Automatic lighting from entrance gate to studio door. To enjoy the full potential of your holiday a hire car is advisable.

Golf: Year round golf is available on Mallorca's 17 golf courses. Arguably the finest is Alcanada´s 18 hole Trent Jones designed, barely five minutes drive away from the property. Clubs, trollies, buggies and lessons are available. The delightful clubhouse enjoys a magnificent sea view which is shared by many of the holes. It is available for non players who may want to eat or drink there.

Other activities: The resident owners, while happy to give you the benefit of their many years in Mallorca, well understand that you may take satisfaction in finding your own way around. If requested pointers on eating out, shopping, places and events of interest, and so on, are available. Pretty well every holiday activity is very well catered for in the immediate area, especially those connected with the water. For these Alcudia Bay with its beaches, secluded bays, Port and Marina is excellent in every way. A day ferry trip to Menorca, a scheduled boat trip or the hire of a windsurfer, power or sailing boat may appeal. Help on classic and lesser known walks of varying length and difficulty will gladly be given. The high season months are too warm to enjoy these but the rest of the year is perfect. Birdwatching has long been one of the delights of Mallorca, a migratory stopover from Northern Europe, and a nearby nature park with established hides is dedicated to this

Guest Book-K The studio is a perfect location to enjoy both the amenities of the resort and peace and quiet. We both slept beautifully and to wake up each morning to the view over the bay was a joy. About Tom Bentley

After many years working in the Island Alcanada, close to the historic old town of Alcudia, was considered by us to be one of, if not the best place to live and we have never regretted it. We are a retired couple (German and English) who have got to know the island well by car and regular walking over the classic routes and many more. If asked we are happy to give advice.

Tom Bentley purchased this apartment in 1995

Why Tom Bentley chose Pollensa Region

Alcanada for its tranquility but proximity to world class bathing, golf course and marina, multiple shops and restaurants and so on. Its situation is unique. The property itself is sheltered yet elevated to give a supreme view of the whole bay of Alcudia..It was architect designed and built for us personally.

What makes this apartment unique

A cosy/romantic atmosphere and truly outstanding view

Amazing view from the terrace, best in the area

  • 5 of 5

We used the studio as a base to visit lots of places on Majorca, some new and some revisited, but the studio (or Eyrie) was always a delight to return back to and relax.

We ate out for 10 of the 11 days not just because the cooking facilities were limited but because there were such great places to eat, all of which were recommended to us by Tom our lovely host.

Location, Location, Location!

  • 4 of 5

Really fabulous views from this little gem of a studio apartment. Friendly discreet owner, there if you need him and lots of information about restaurants/places to visit. We had a lovely peaceful time with perfect weather (not too hot for us). It's been 34 years since we visited Majorca for our honeymoon. I don't think we'll be waiting that long to re-visit!

Already planning our return...

  • 5 of 5

Having recently returned from Tom's rental studio we are already longing to be back. The views from the balcony are truly beautiful, the peace and tranquility of the area coupled with the warmth and hospitality from Tom really made this a wonderful place to stay. The apartment itself offers everything required, although if you are tall 6 footers like us be prepared to bang your head once or twice on the sloping ceiling! There is a well equipped kitchen and local shops make it easy to buy produce nearby to take back and prepare. We spent most evenings eating olives and drinking a glass of Rosada whilst marveling at the breathtaking scenery.

Just a pointer - be prepared to walk a few steps up to the apartment (48 to be precise).. but there are plenty of places to stop on the way and catch your breath. The area itself offers lots of authentic restaurants and it is a 20 minutes stroll to Alcudia Port. We chose to stay mainly in the Acanada area - there are a few nice eateries nearby.

As I said to Tom - it is not Adios but most definitely Hasta La Vista (we will be back).. for sure. A great studio apartment, in a lovely quiet area, with plenty of amenities and welcoming host and last but not least a stunning stunning view.

Wonderful terrace, excellent location

  • 5 of 5

There is something very special about this little studio at the top of Tom's house - The amazing terrace; private, south facing with more than 180 degree views across Alcudia bay, it is the perfect place to relax and watch the world go by, day or night. The view alone is worth five stars, never mind the great location: A few minutes walk to good restaurants, a bar, lovely swimming spots and a Spar shop for the breakfast ensaimadas. Tom, the owner, is charming, helpful and informative. Follow his restaurant recommendations - 'Posidonia' (10 - 15 mins walk) is especially good.

We really did fall in love with the place and would definitely recommend it but I feel I should point out a few things: There are a lot of steps up to the studio but it is worth it and it keeps you fit. If you are tall you are likely to bump your head quite often: The sliding door to the terrace is not full height and the ceiling at the bed head is very low. The bed is described as a large double but is actually two singles, made up separately and pushed together, not fixed. The shower is good, the little kitchen is well equipped as is the living area. The furniture on the terrace is getting a little tired, not quite as luxurious looking as in the photos but it doesn't matter - It is all about that wonderful view.

Owner's Response: I appreciate this kind and totally factual review.. Most of the negative points raised "go with the territory" Without the steps, which are well lit and in three easy stages most guests accept there would not be the view which is undoubtedly a feature. Several guests have even been inspired to illustrate it in the guest book which is always very much appreciated. I should mention one of the most perfect and painstaking of these is that provided through this particular guest. .Of the two points which can be rectified it has alrea dy been my intention to renew at the end of the season that terrace furniture which is "a little tired" . The misdescription of the bed, for which I apologise, has already been rectified.

Beautiful views and plenty of relaxation

Comfortable apartment in lovely quiet location. Loved the views. Close to quiet beach, excellent restaurant, great for a hiking and running base - particularly to reach Coll Baix avoiding the main town. Great stay, great apartment.

Хорошее, тихое, уютное расположение

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: It was a delight to have this intelligent young couple from Moscow staying. While their understanding of English was good they lacked practice speaking it and if they would like to return for more practice they would be very welcome. While their review In Russian must remain a mystery they awarded 5 stars so it couldn't have been all bad This month has been United Nations month with Italian, German, Russian, Canadian and tomorrow Spanish as consecutive guests and now an English couple booked in for Christmas. Says a lot for HomeAway/FevoDirekt coverage.

Car: recommended

Alcudia, the original Roman capital of Mallorca, is a delightful traffic free walled town with natural stone faced houses lining its narrow streets and a large market area. Its port is 1km away and, like the town, has good parking facilities and a huge variety of restaurants, tapa bars and shops. The traffic free waterfront looks on to the smart Marina, the fishing port and the harbour with daily ferries to Menorca (2/4 hours) and the Mainland. It is the start of a six kilometer white sand beach with very safe swimming. Alcanada is a superior residential area close to the port with its own quiet waterside walks, swimming and select waterfront and unpretentious family run restaurants. Its golf course is one of the finest on the Island. Nearby are the other interesting towns of Pollensa, its Port, and Sa Pobla, a farming area untouched by tourism. The Albufera and Son Real Nature Parks are very close with museums, delightful walks, birdwatching and superb photo opportunities.

Other Activities:astronomy - Costix Observatory

Golf: Alcanada Golf Course is considered by many to be the finest on the Island. Trent Jones designed its 18 holes offer a fair challenge in a truly magnificent setting with several holes overlooking the Bay. Excellent club house and pro shop. It is less than five minutes away by car.

Pollensa Golf Course is 15 minutes away by car and provides an interesting 9 holes. The club house is magnificently sited ensuring an inspiring 10th or 19th hole.

Several other of Mallorca's courses are easily reached by car and all have full facilities for hiring clubs, trollies and buggies.
