Everyone enjoys stopping at Mercer Apple Orchard for you pick experience, a tour of the cider house, or for great souvenirs and food.
We bought this cabin in 2007 so that our family could vacation with my father and brothers who has a cabin nearby. I grew up in Florida and we would regularly vacation in the Smokey Mountains when I was little. We feel our cabin is heavenly. And we welcome the opportunity to share it with you and your family.

Peace, beauty, regenerate, pure joy!
The views are stunning. The silence except for the birds is priceless! Everyone says they are rejuvenated after their stay. The hot tub is nice and secluded. The mountains behind the cabin are great for dirt biking, ATV's or mountain bikes. You can bike to Tennessee if your able. Right down the road is Ocoee whitewater rafting. The home of the 1996 Olympic whitewater slolum course, where you can try your skills and try to stay in the raft, to the chagrin of bystanders. There are great hiking trails everywhere. Murphy is the beginning of the Trail of Tears. There are amazing Indian sculptures, trails with waterfalls, trails along the river, some are for beginners and others are for the Appalachian hikers.
We're here and settled in. Its beautiful!! Thank you so much for being pet friendly!
And have a very merry Christmas!!
We stayed 4 nights and this was our first cabin stay. The cabin is secluded which is just what we were looking for. The instructions provided by Beth were detailed and helpful. The cabin is cozy and has everything you could think of. The decor is so beautiful. The jacuzzi was left on for us and we enjoyed it very much in the nice cold weather. Beth and her spouse were easy to get a hold of and very responsive. I would recommend this cabin rental to anyone. I can't wait to go back. Thank you Beth!
We just came back home after a 8 day stay. We will be back for sure we loved out cabin very clean and well taken care of. Thank you to Beth for allowing us to stay in her beautiful cabin. We will be back very soon. New tradition for our family.
We absolutely LOVED staying at the cabin! While it rained a good bit of the time while we were there, it still gave us plenty of well-needed decompression time from life. =)
As the other reviews have said, the house was incredibly clean and well cared for. It definitely felt like home the minute we walked in. The minute we got there, grocery bags in hand, we were able to start a fantastic dinner without having to "improvise" much in the kitchen. They definitely have everything you need. We also really loved having our morning coffee out on the back deck. The views were absolutely AMAZING, especially from the hot tub!
We would highly recommend staying here to ANYONE looking for a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing trip into the mountains.
We loved this gorgeous log cabin! Beautiful location on a ridge line, completely secluded and lots of trails all around the mountain right out of the backyard! However, we recommend checking the hot tub before using as the chlorinating treatment was not maintained prior to our arrival so we had to attempt to adjust the chemicals ourselves. We were surprised to find that Murphy was quite close and is a very charming little town.
My husband and I stayed in the cabin last week over our fall break. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. The internet reception wasn't super fast, but that is to be expected up in the mountains. I was still able to check email and respond to emergencies. There was a television with all of your basic cable channels and lots of movies to watch. As far as sleeping arrangements, there are 2 twin beds in the upstairs loft and 1 large bed in the master bedroom. I do have a disability and wasn't able to get up into the bed, as it is up very high off the ground, nor could I make it up the steep steps of the loft. There is a step stool for the bed and for most people, this wouldn't even be an issue. However, if you have mobility problems, you may encounter some difficulties. Luckily, the couch was quite comfortable! The hot tub was wonderful to relax in at the end of the day and the wrap around porch was a truly delightful reading space. We brought our senior dog and he was very comfortable. Best of all, we didn't need a leash the whole time! The local town of Murphy, NC has a large flea market, a casino (where smoking is allowed, so that may be problematic for some), a river walk, and cute restaurants and shops. The Nantahala is about 45 minutes-1 hour away and there were lots of zip lining tours offered nearby. I definitely recommend this lovely little cabin in the woods!
My husband and I very much enjoyed this charming log cabin for the weekend. Comfortable and rustic furnishings, with modern conveniences such as free WiFi, TV, and DVD player available. Private and secluded property with awesome mountain views from the hot tub. Close to beautiful hiking trails in the mountains, tubing, and golf. Great weekend getaway location!
