Come revive in this modern A-Frame home overlooking Pine Creek! Nestled in a beautiful gorge, this open, modern three bedroom home sits up on the mountainside overlooking the tranquil Pine Creek and adjacent 57 miles of the Rail Trail. The A-Frame structure provides a large expanse of windows looking out onto the spectacular creek view and passing wildlife including deer, turkey, black bears, and bald eagles. The main floor supports an open floor plan with adjoining kitchen, dining, and living room. Two large private bedrooms and a bathroom also occupy the main floor. A beautiful wooden staircase in the middle of the main floor leads up to a large, open master bedroom loft. Each bedroom has a queen bed, with additional space in each for air mattresses as needed. The Pine Creek area offers many outdoor activities including fishing, fly-fishing, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, biking, hiking, and skiing. Williamsport, home of Little League Baseball, and Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon are both within a 35-mile drive. If you are looking for a retreat following a Penn State football game, the university is 65 miles away. There are many nearby taverns for a hassle-free dinner out, and a couple of general stores with fly-fishing supplies and guide services.

About Carrie and Dave
We are both Penn State alums and continue to live in State College, Pa with our family. We have been coming to the Pine Creek for many years to camp and play. We fell in love with this house and continue to enjoy many peaceful weekends here. We look forward to having you enjoy the 'Loft' as much as we do!

Lovely, comfortable home. Well equipped and accommodating. Gorgeous view of the mountain. Peaceful, restful location, but still within close proximity to outdoor activities. Definitely a great place to get away from a busy life and the noise of the city! Owners were great to work with and very accommodating. Our family and friends really enjoyed our long weekend there! Have already recommended it to a couple of friends. Thanks again, Carrie and Dave!!!
Great long weekend
Had a great time - cabin was clean, maintained, and wonderful. The location is really Jersey Mills - not Cammal and driveway is a little challenging to find if traveling from the north. Enjoyed the wildlife - deer, bear, eagle.
This place was very good. The owner does an exceptional job accommodating you . Great location. We rode 75 miles in two days. Shuttle with pine creek outfitters. Drank awesome beer at the Waterville hotel. We saw 11 eagles. Two rattlesnakes 20 turkey. 2 blue heron. Just don’t book my week next year.
Home away from Home
The house was really eye appealing inside and out. The house was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was modern and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. There were actually three queen size beds in the loft area which would make it nice for families with children. The fire pit was nice to do a fire in and roast marshmallows. It's very close to pine creek and rail trail access points that you do have to drive too even though you can see both from the house. The driveway was a little obscure as it is grass covered. I drove past it the first time. Our granddaughter loved the colorful table in front of the big window and claimed it for herself. The TV is for DVD's only. There is no satellite hook up to get any channels for viewing - which may have been a good thing since there are a lot of outdoor things you can do to enjoy yourself. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and so thankful that they allow pets as well, so we could include the entire family.
Our adult children and spouses joined us from ID and MA for a family wedding in Williamsport. Extended our stay to explore the area. We hiked the Bob Webber which was challenging but had a great view from the top with a bench to sit on. Next up was the Golden Eagle (4 miles of the 9 miles trail) The view from Raven's Horn was incredible. Also, drove up to the canyon another day and hiked the Turkey Path to the 70 ft waterfall! The whole area is just beautiful. Stopped to jump off Rattlesnake Rock on the way home. My husband and son also did some flyfishing. The house had everything we needed. Can not think of anything that would improve it.
Hiking/wine/fire pit....and ladybugs
We really enjoyed our stay and Carrie and Dave were very responsive to all of my questions. The house has everything you need, even shampoo/conditioner/bodywash. We left a salad dressing in the fridge and it looks like everyone who has stayed there before did as well so you definitely don't need to bring that either. The beds were all very comfortable and they were all at least queen sized. The house was very clean and well appointed.
There is a lovely walking trail across the road along the river but it was a little buggy because we walked it in the early evening. The house itself had a lot of lady bugs and milkweed bugs (and huge praying mantisses!) on the outside but that seemed like a new thing and probably temporary. We really didn't mind them too much. We lit a fire in the fire pit on the second night and watched for meteors. We actually took the trip for star gazing and the field of view of the sky was decent. There is a flood light across the street so we hid behind a little garage building to get the best view which was fine.
Overall we had a really great time and we would stay there again.
Our retreat home is located along the Pine Creek in Cammal, Pa. There are many beautiful trails for hiking, 57 miles of the Pine Creek Rail Trail for bicycling, and the gorgeous Pine Creek itself for fishing, fly-fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and rafting. We are also 35 miles from Wellsboro and Williamsport, and 65 miles from Penn State University campus.
