My partner Marsha and I are both native New Yorkers who spent many years travelling the world. Marsha is an attorney and I am a part time mortgage banker and entrepreneur.
Sandy Wagner purchased this townhome in 2000
We moved to this house because it is a spectacular, gracious home. Most New Yorkers do not have the luxury of having the space we do. We feel very lucky to be living here
We chose to stay with Sandy and Marsha to be close to our son's apartment 4 blocks away and were very comfortable during our stay. The house is lovingly restored and furnished and they are very attentive hosts. For just one instance, the dining area was stocked when we arrived- ground coffee, orange juice, bagels, yogurt, etc.- in short all the makings for a simple breakfast. On several days Marsha also presented us with fresh muffins and other great home-baked goods! There is not a full kitchen, but we did not miss it as we either ate lunch and dinner out or ordered in. Easy walks to two different subway lines made travel downtown a snap, and Sandy was very helpful with all questions about directions. The only proviso we mention is that the apartment is an open plan- both sleeping areas are in the open space and the bathroom is the only fully private room. That said, we loved staying here and recommend it as a unique and pleasant base for a few days in New York!
Everything was perfect, jacuzzi tub, ping pong, comfy bed, awesome antiques, close to transportation, and nice neighborhood. Sandra and Marsha were fabulous and the treats and homemade muffins were great.

We had a wonderful stay in the Loft in Harlem. It was convenient to the subway. It is beautifully decorated with antiques. We never felt unsafe coming and going to the subway. No matter what time we returned to the Loft, there were always people out walking. Sondra was a very gracious host. She and Marsha are very friendly. The loft is just as the pictures depict. Very spacious for NYC! I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a quieter place to stay away from the busy Manhattan noise and traffic.
This was a great place to stay for our 10 days holiday in Manhattan. Very happy to have found it and thus being able to discover this area of town. The owners where wondefull, charming and helpfull. We will most probably come back next time we are in NYC.
My son and I stayed for three nights as a Spring Break get away. We really enjoyed the home and found it to be a convenient location for all of our sightseeing. Sandy was extremely accommodating and a great source of info for our daily plans. The home is in a nice neighborhood of Harlem and a convenient walk from the subway. The 3rd floor sunny loft was all as advertised - we hope to go back again soon!
Wonderful place and close to our son. Loved the decor. The antiques were great. Marcia and Sandy our hostesses were Wonderful and made us feel like family. Loved the workout equipment and the ping pong table. Would definitely recommend.
