About Debera Reiley
~ It’s me, Debera, your host. Perhaps you’d like to know a bit about me before you become a guest on of one of my properties. I would certainly want to know who I am renting from away from home if not a hotel. ~ Just a few tidbits: I was raised in Tucson, Arizona and attended NAU and UAA. Lived in central Texas for a couple years, taught school for awhile and then got the wanderlust. I had never seen much except the desert and hot and dry. As a youngster, I’d dream about really high magnificent mountains and the ocean and always travel (read books with a flashlight at night in bed under the covers). As a high school student I saw photos of New Zealand and its green green landscape and glaciers. ~ Bingo: I started for New Zealand by way of Canada and Alaska in a VW Westfalia. (I know a strange routing but why not? Upon arriving in Alaska, I took one look at the mountains cascading into Turnagain Arm and that was it. I was hooked. Alaska became my home for 30 years. Hiking, skiing, sailing and raising children filled those years along with foreign travel in winter (typical Hawaii for Alaskans, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Middle East (by accident)and Africa. If you don’t get out of Alaska in winter, cabin fever will set in. ~ Another Bingo…what to do next: I was raised with Latin as a language choice (impossible to speak) and always wanted to speak a foreign language. New chapter: I took my precious dog, Oliver Twist, and moved to France in 2004, went to a language institute, studied harder than I ever remember, hiked, skied , sailed across the Mediterranean Sea, road motorcycles with my dog, parasailed, sailplaned….Oh my goodness, it was a fabulous year and a half. Why do all wonderful things have to come to an end? ~ Another chapter on the way. I didn’t have a plan coming back from Europe except I didn’t think long dark winters were what was right for me. I stopped in Seattle to see friends and here I am.
Debera Reiley purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Debera Reiley chose West Queen Anne
\When I found this place at the end of 2013, it was run down, everything overgrown, little to no maintenance in years, complete renovation of everything was needed. I saw the possibilities, liked the neighborhood, the bluff and sunsets, a place to garden, a place of tranquility and LOTS of work. Four year later, I am still working on it and will be for probably years to come. I like the process of dreaming the impossible and making the dream come true. I love the cottage. I will go over there when there are no quests and feel like I have gone on vacation. I thoroughly enjoy the setting on the West Bluff looking out to Puget Sound with the marine traffic coming and going. The street is tree lined and quiet, not something I experienced in lower Queen Anne. The property offered me a place to live and make a home plus this darling cottage that I have lovingly restored to its former beauty and given it my own twist of creativity. Then, the opportunity to garden again did the trick for me. I love this location as I am so close to everything mentioned before but feel like I am not in the city. I can take what I want in the city and then retreat to my little haven on Queen Anne. There is a tranquility about living here that is very special to me.
What makes this Cottage unique
'Le Bijou', (The Jewel), is a separate beautiful space. It is not living in someones home, or a condo/apartment. It is 15 to 20 minutes from everything from entertainment, hospitals, research centers, technology research, universities but right in the city. Le Bijou's location is Queen Anne and on the west bluff with expansive views of Puget Sound, fabulous sunsets and sunrises is my idea of perfect. My street is quiet with great neighbors who are friendly and all seem to have dogs...love the doggies. It is a place of calmness and tranquility but accessible to whatever it is that pleases you. Coming home is like ....well, really coming home. Being a host has been very important to the quality of my life. I meet interesting people from all over the world who are looking to Seattle as a place to explore, adventure, visit families, conduct business, try out new experiences. I hope to add a special experience and a personal touch for each guest while staying in Le Bijou . It is fun and rewarding for me to see guests really enjoy and experience fully their vacation and visit.

AMAZING & Beautiful Home
This was the most beautiful spot to stay in Seattle! The location is so pristine and quiet, not to mention convenient. The bed and linens are so nice and high quality. Debera is just a joy to chat with as well! This setting makes you feel at home and so comfortable. The bathroom is absolutely amazing with it's clawfoot tub and beautifully renovated shower and space. I would definitely recommend staying here and will be staying there agian!
Adorable, quaint, peaceful, super clean
Le Bijou is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, very walkable. West Queen Anne was a great location for our homebase while we explored Seattle. We found everything spotlessly clean at Le Bijou. The queen size bed was very comfy, and the sheets were superb. Thanks Debera for stocking real coffee, and an easy-to- use coffee maker. We enjoyed it every morning and it got us through our jet-lag! The beautiful garden and outside areas helped us relax and feel at home. Our favorite bakery was Macrina, and we loved going to Chinook's for local seafood. We'll be back!
"Le Bijou" is a relaxing stay away from high rise hotels. Centrally located from all the sights I came to see, it was very refreshing to stay in a quiet, beautiful, home away from home. The bed was very comfortable and the shower and tub were great. The heated floors in the bathroom are wonderful. Gas fireplace just added to the relaxing feel and charm. Very nice get away place and Debora was very helpful.
Charming & Beautiful Cottage
My son and I had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful cottage for three nights on our way home to California after his college graduation. Debera gave us a warm welcome to her beautiful space. The cottage is very clean, decorated exquisitely, has very cozy beds, linens and towels. A full kitchen and gorgeous bathroom with heated floors. We enjoyed sitting by the fire, watching tv, and drinking morning coffee that was provided. The Queen Anne neighborhood is so charming, and perfectly located. We walked from the cottage down to Pike Market and back again, and discovered a local Turkish coffee shop and a scrumptious new sushi place in town. This was the perfect way to unwind after a busy graduation week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Don’t miss it.
Le Bijou is a jewel ! PERFECT!
Our stay at Le Bijou was wonderful! The location/ neighborhood is quiet, close to downtown and was spectacular with all the gardens in bloom. The view of the sound from across the street was great! Our own garden, complete with fountain, greeted us every time we returned home. The craftsman cottage was beautifully decorated, spacious, clean, and felt just like home. Bed and linens were divine! Best of all, Debera was so warm and welcoming! We feel like we've known her for years! Debera, thank you so much for such a wonderful stay! Le Bijou was our perfect 4 day "home away from home" and truly is a jewel in Queen Anne. We will absolutely return to Le Bijou on our next visit! See you soon! Pat and Rick Fadgen. Mpls, MN
Hosting Pat and Rick from Minnesota are one of the main reasons I continue to do this work. Absolutely fun and enjoyable people who are open to exploring, enjoying, communicating and sharing their lives. This couple were so much fun. I recommend them to anyone and hope, hope, hope they will come back to stay at Le Bijou.
Gorgeous Historic Cottage
I could not say more about the kind host Deb and her beautiful rental cottage. Across the street from bluffs looking out over the ocean positioned on a deeply green tree-lined street - it was all we hoped for. Clean, beautifully decorated, safe, quiet, comfy bed and oh my god, the sheets! Soft, smooth - just the best. Her thoughtfulness includes both soft and firm pillows on the bed for travelers to choose which suits them best. We would go back anytime - and we will!
Hosting Deb and Steve from Portland are one of the main reasons I continue to do this work. They were here to visit a musician nephew passing through town. Absolutely fun and enjoyable people who are open to exploring, enjoying, communicating and sharing their lives. This couple were so much fun. I recommend them to anyone and hope, hope, hope they will come back to stay at Le Bijou.
