Omena cottage description:
From the vantage point of a wide enclosed porch of this classic summer cottage is a place to view the turquoise blue of Omena Bay, sunsets, passing boats, to catch a breeze and find calm. This cherished cottage rests in a woodsy landscape at the west facing curve of the bay. It was built, as were other cottages of this vintage, as an annex to the Hotel Leelanau as a summer retreat. The kitchen and more modern conveniences were added much later. This is a picturesque setting, a great place to dock a boat, swim and enjoy cocktails or write your next novel in the shade of an octagonal gazebo near the shore.
Our cottage sits on a natural rocky shore line with a small slice of sand at the foot of the dock. For those that want more sand, there is a public sandy beach within walking distance.
This beautiful vintage cottage on OmenaBay features 3 bedrooms.
1 1/2 baths. Shower only (no tub). Sleeps up to 6. With 1 Queen bed,1 Full bed, 2 Twin Beds. A spacious living room/dining area and an enclosed porch provides plenty of room to stretch out and relax.
We enjoy traveling, sailing, biking, tennis, hiking, kayaking, walking our dogs, hanging out at the beach, restoring classic cars and wine-tasting.

Our classic cottage in Omena offered us a nostalgic “Up North” experience. We fell in love with the charming details and secluded location on the bay. The cottage sits on a west facing peninsula that offers breathtaking sunsets. The deep water bay allows us endless boating and sailing opportunities right in our own back yard.We love that we are part of a very quaint small town and yet when we want a reprise from the seclusion, we are so close to what Traverse City has to offer. Endless events, culinary delights, and a full service regional airport. We have the best of both worlds.
Spectacular Sunsets. Direct access to Sailing/Boating on Grand Traverse Bay.
This vintage cottage on Omena Bay is fabulous, both inside and out. The views from the beach and from the cottage take your breath away. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. It is apparent that the owners take pride in this gem of a cottage and do everything they can to ascertain that guests enjoy this piece of heaven during their stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope to return again in the future.

A comfortable, pretty, newly updated cottage, gazebo, and dock facing the sunset on Omena Bay. From the welcoming notes and bottle of wine to the spacious screened porch to the well-stocked kitchen and plentiful towels, we felt at home. Details have been carefully considered for guests. Perfect for three or four, or even six, who don't mind sharing the upstairs bathroom. Also has a small first floor half-bath. Finding a dog-friendly house was an important consideration, but except for the dog bowls, there was no sign the cottage ever was inhabited by pets. An excellent cleaning service! We're looking forward to a return visit.
My family spent a week at this home and we all agreed it was one of our favorite vacations to date. The location of the house cannot be beat, located directly between the quaint towns of Northport and Suttons Bay in the sleepy town of Omena. The house is well-appointed and quite comfortable. We are a family of four and brought our Labrador retriever. My parents came for a visit for two nights. Everyone enjoyed the property. The older family members enjoyed the screened in porch and the gazebo while the younger among us played on the little beach, searched for Petoskey stones, and enjoyed kayaking around the little harbor. We would definitely return!
it was everything we look for in a cottage. The location was perfect for day trips and exploring the Leeland peninsula and or just relaxing on the beach in front of the house. The furnishing were beautifully appointed and comfortable. My family truly loved our stay. we did not want to leave. The only down side was, one shower.
Our family had a relaxing and peaceful week at this lovely cottage. The quiet wooded setting meant that we were not aware of the nearby cottages. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable, with plenty of room and plenty of comfortable furniture--elegant and cozy at the same time. There are many modern conveniences and additional thoughtful touches. We spent a lot of time on the large porch overlooking the bay, enjoying the view and the peace. We highly recommend this place, and hope to return next year.
Great location weather looking to get away from it all or wanting to experience downtown Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Kids enjoyed playing on the water and walking to the park down the street. Very pleased with the rental, clean and the owners are very helpful if have any questions with the property and helpful if looking for suggestions to check out in the area.
