About Karen Rolston
Our family has been coming to Hopkins Landing since 1923 and we are delighted to be sharing it with you. Our favorite things to do at the cottage include playing on the beach, hiking up Knob Hill, watching the sunrise, playing cards, drinking wine on the patio, sitting under the cherry tree, exploring the town of Gibsons, swimming off the pier, walking along the beach, golfing in Robert Creek, reading on the chaise and watching the stars.
Karen Rolston purchased this Cottage in 1957

We had a great stay at the cottage for nearly 2 weeks!
Our family had a great time at the cottage, we will definitely be coming back! Our kids enjoyed the new treasures on the beach every morning, and we even got to see seals and whales!
My common-law partner and I wanted to take a trip to BC to restore and be close to the ocean. I spent hours upon hours trying to find the right place, always second guessing myself. One evening, I spoke with the owner of this amazing cottage, Karen, and I knew it was the right place.
We showed up to this ocean-front cottage, and the view before getting out of the car was so breathtaking that we couldn't believe it. We spent hours looking out on the ocean, sitting in the living room with the large bay window.
Karen put so much detail into the cottage for the guests. There were info sheets to tell you exactly where to find things, how to care for the place, and how to clean upon our departure. Literally everything we needed was there, ready for use. The cottage actually feels like a cottage, which is so great, and made us feel relaxed.
We were in a perfect place to explore the Sunshine Coast. Every day, we took our rental car up the Coast, only to realize at the end of each day that we had the best views from home.
Thank you. I only wish we could be there now.
It was charming!
We enjoyed two nights at this cabin on the beach. Even though it rained on us solidly for a day the views were fabulous from the living room window and we relaxed watching the ferry and shipping cargo come and go. The owner was super easy to communicate with and very responsive. It is a very short drive to lower Gibsons which has a great fishmonger on pier B and a nice oyster house called Smitty's. We would love to visit again.
