The Point Loma Charmer is a great property. After living in it for three years, we started renting the Charmer out to our guests in 2005. Since then we have had over 150 families stay at the Charmer with over 60 positive reviews.
Having traveled and rented vacation homes around the world, we know what makes for a great stay: a house that is clean, well-maintained, and centrally-located to all of the tourist attactions.
The most satisfying aspect is reading the kind comments from our guests in our Guestbook and seeing where the Charmer has made a difference in making their vacation, reunion, or wedding reception a success.
We even hosted the founder of VRBO at the Point Loma Charmer -- see his review on 'VRBO Stayed Here.
Kelly Brehm purchased this house in 2002
The Wooded Area of Point Loma is noted for its beautiful homes and 100 year old trees. The property is located in a residential neighborhood that is tranquil and inviting yet close to everything that San Diego has to offer: the world famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Ocean Beach, Sunset Cliffs National Park, Cabrillo National Monument, Legoland, Downtown Gas Lamp District, San Diego Yacht Club and more. And always sparkling clean!
Our favorite evening at the Charmer begins with drinks at the outdoor wet bar on our large deck. Then, off to San Diego's Gaslamp district, which is only minutes away, for some of the finest cuisine that San Diego has to offer. After dinner, we would stop off at Sunset Cliffs to watch the sunset, which are some of the finest in the world. Then, back to the Charmer for a soothing Jacuzzi while listening to our favorite music and the soft rustle of the bamboo. To respect our neighbors please abide by San Diego's noise curfews at 11:00pm on weekends and 10:00pm during the week. Move inside to enjoy our beautiful home for late night fun.
We would definitely recommend the Point Loma Charmer! It was perfect for our stay when our daughter got married in Point Loma in May 2008. It provided a great place to prepare for the upcoming events, to entertain guests, and was also a really good place to relax. It is clean with very good electronics (TV, stereo system that plays ipods, wifi, etc.) and the kitchen had very nice appliances. We loved the back patio! People who dropped by had many favorable comments, as well. It really is charming!
We rented this lovely house for the weekend of my nephew's wedding. It was the perfect location as the venue was only about a mile away. And, there was a Peet's just a few blocks away!! It fit all 7 of us comfortably and there was plenty of room in the living room for visitors that stopped by in the evening to chat.
The house was clean and well appointed. Our only comments are that the beds were all a little too soft. With all of us over 55 we prefer our beds firm. And, the a/c units in the bedrooms are too noisy to run while sleeping.
Also, we arrived at 3:30pm and the cleaning service was running behind so we had to cool our heels on the front porch for a half hour while they finished up.
Overall, it was a lovely rental for a beautiful family weekend!
This home was perfect for our family of 6. Room to spread out. Fabulous for outdoor entertainment (we invited our local friends for dinner because the yard and basketball court/hot tub was perfect for adults to relax and kids to play in the background). House was FULLY stocked with anything you might need: towels, beach gear, basketball, soccerball, games, every kitchen gadget imaginable, and quite a collection of spices and essentials help prep the perfect meals. We only ate 1 meal out because the set-up was perfect. I think they had dished/utensils for 16+ people because we could eat snacks, dinner and breakfast THEN run dishwasher- unusual for a rental. Home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to Peet's Coffee, frozen yogurt and a soon-to-open grocery store. Owner promptly responded via text with a few questions we had during our stay. Great communication leading up to our visit as well. They take good care of their home and do everything possible to ensure you enjoy your stay. Highly recommended!
Best vacation we've had in a while and the house was a bonus. Very clean and well stocked for all your kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping needs. Very comfortable and clean. We will rent this house aging, whenever in the area!
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful house. It was roomy , comfortable and clean. The outdoor space is amazing. We spent evenings on the deck underneath the sweet hanging lights.
My unexpected favorite feature of this house is the QUIET!!.So much of S.D. is either in the flight path or next to a busy road. This house is tucked into sweet spot not far ,but far enough ,from the racket and clamor of the city.
There was everything we needed for trips to the beach, BBQ on the deck, and a comfortable night's sleep.
I would definitely recommend this space for families .
Had a great time h.ere. Quiet neighborhood close to all you need. It is an older home so it has lots of character.
The Jacuzzi was just what the doctor ordered after our 5K and we enjoyed the outdoor seating area. We even played a game of "HORSE" as we are very competitive. Couldn't ask for a better weekend away.
The property is centrally located to everything San Diego has to offer: World-class Beaches, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, 90+ Golf courses (including Torrey Pines), Balboa Park, Gas Lamp Quarter (downtown), Art Museums, Del Mar Horse Racing, Sailing, Outlet Shopping, Sunset Cliffs Nature Park, Cabrillo National Monument, Children's Museum, and Maritime Museum.
