Good location for exploring Nice
The location of this property is perfect for exploring all Nice has to offer. The approach to the apartment is not very attractive and the two sets of short steep steps can be tricky with suitcases etc. This is an old apartment in the old town but with lots of charm, markets and shops all close by
Apartment was fine, one bathroom Very small, entrance from the street not great,.
The apartment for 6 of us was fine. My only complaint- 2nd bathroom dingy and tiny, woman who met us was in a major hurry and not too receptive to basic questions and the courtyard in which the entrance is off is depressing. Once inside the apartment is very livable. The location is splendid.
Wonderful spacious apartment in a perfect location
This wonderfully appointed apartment was ideal for our family vacation: 4 adults and two children. The roomy layout of two sleeping quarters with their own bathrooms separated by the central spacious living area provided night-time privacy for our daughter's family of four and for us, the parents/grandparents. The walls of the apartment are covered with fabulous artwork and there is a huge range of engrossing books to test your French language skills and provide serious distraction from the city outside. The apartment feeds directly out to the vibrant cafe/daily market area of Cours Saleya and through to the ocean-front promenade, and it backs onto the throbbing heart of the old town – a perfect location! Our week-long experience here made us feel as if we were living the Nice life, rather than just visiting – as Emma the helpful, communicative owner, who provided lots of helpful local information, insists she wants anyone’s visit to be. We hope to be back!
A word or two from my 8 year old grandson Monty: My sister Maddi and I loved the apartment as it was close to the beach where we collected stones, and the promenade where we could kick a ball along or ride bikes. We would walk to buy fresh food and bread from the market for breakfast and lunch and were very close to some fun restaurants up the narrow streets of the old town. In the apartment we had our own bunk room and a big lounge we could play in or look out the windows from to see all the people walking or biking past down on the promenade. We wished we could have stayed longer.
We ( parents and 3 children, 5 years, 3 years and, 7 montags) enjoyed our stay a lot. The flat ist as described, clean and stylish furnished. On Cours Saleya But still silent in the bedrooms. We will come back!
Beautiful apartment and perfect location
We were a family of four (two girls 16 and 20) and a mature couple and enjoyed a wonderful week of swimming and sun bathing (5 min. to the beach), strolling the market next door, the rest of old town and more. The apartment is even more beautiful in reality then in the pictures, tidy and clean and everything very well organised. Everything is so close by and we walked a lot and took the tram. The family went to Monaco while uncle and aunt enjoyed walking along the seafront and sitting down for coffees and cold drinks. We had breakfast at home every day and a couple of nigths a simple meal in the evening, but the kitchen was fully equipped and we could have cooked full meals there. It was always nice to come back in the evening and enjoy a glas of wine ans relax in nice soft furnitures.
A lovely flat in a can't-be-beat location
This is a lovely, spacious apartment well-located on the lively Cours Saleya market street, but set back a bit, so it's not too noisy. The listing accurately describes the perfection of this location: it's in the highly desirable Old Nice but is also just steps from the Promenade des Anglais. You can't quite see the water from the apartment, but you're so so close. We visited in December, so the neighborhood was a little quieter than it is during high season, yet everything seemed open and we didn't have to battle crowds. Emma, the owner of this apartment, is one of a kind. She was very responsive in the run-up to our trip, and once we were there she invited us to lunch in Monaco, where she works. We got to meet her teen daughter, and it was so wonderful to be able to get to know two friendly French locals. (As for Monaco, definitely make the trip there while you are in Nice. It's just a 1.50 Euro bus trip, and it takes a very scenic route, so try to get a seat on the right-hand side of the bus.) Back to the lovely apartment. It is clean and well-maintained, with a washing machine, drying rack, dishwasher, TV and WiFi, as advertised. There are two bathrooms (one much larger than the other), and the shower I used was great, as French showers go. There are three bedrooms, two with what Americans would consider full-size beds (the size just under queen size). The other bedroom has substantial bunk beds. The full-size beds were comfortable, though if you're tall, like my husband, your feet may hang off. Emma has provided garbage bags, dishwashing detergent, TP, linens and towels, so you won't have those kinds of expenses. And she started us off with juice and a bottle of wine upon our arrival. The kitchen is full-size with pots, pans and dishes, so you can eat here rather than going out, if you like. There is no lift, but there is just one flight of stairs to get to the apartment. This flat is a great value, less than half the price of a much smaller, cookie-cutter hotel room on the Promenade des Anglais. Emma kindly provided a list of some local restaurants that she would recommend. We tried three of them and especially loved Le Bistrot d'Antoine and Chat Noir Chat Blanc. They were both very close to the apartment. I would definitely stay again in this flat and would whole-heartedly recommend it to friends and family. Thank you, Emma, for a superlative experience.
The COURS SALEYA with its famous flower / fruit and vegetable daily market, (Antics market on Mondays), and its cafes and restaurants is just down the street: it will make your daily life here very easy ! On your doorstep you will also find the Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels), with a shingle beach and transparent waters, directly opposite. The Promenade des Anglais - Nice's famous seafront esplanade, 6km long - is a fantastic place for a stroll. You can also hire a bicycle or Rollerblade up and down. Nearby there are also some excellent speciality shops, art galleries, designers and museums (Musee Matisse, Musee des Beaux Arts, Musee d'Art Moderne et Contemporain).

'The apartment was a perfect location for our family holiday. It is in the centre of the lively market area which has plenty of reasonably priced restaurants with food to suit a variety of tastes. Through the market and over the road is the beach where we spent many pleasant evenings watching the sunset. The apartment is well equipped so if you wish to cook with the market on the doorstep selling amazing fresh and even organic produce you can do so. With 3 bedrooms , 2 bathrooms and a good sized dining sitting room we had plenty of space for all of us to relax after the days activities. I would love to stay in this apartment again and would recommend it to our friends.' Mrs EVAN-08/07
'Merci Emmanuelle et Christophe pour votre accueil: très agréable appartement avec beaucoup de charme, bien décoré, idéalement placé: le marché, la mer et la vielle ville sont á vos pieds, plus besoin de voiture! Nous nous sommes sentis chez nous dès les premiers instants' Mr GRYCK-08
