Owners Dan and Joanne have enjoyed this area since 1995. The combination of wildlife, local attractions, and close proximity to the Minneapolis metro area make it an ideal place for a family getaway.
Daniel or Joanne Brown purchased this cabin in 1995
This property is great for youngsters to get the outdoor experience, and the parents to enjoy creature comforts. Fishing is great off the dock, so kids can easily learn. Water gradually gets deeper, so is perfect for young children and less experienced swimmers.

Dan & Joanne - we so enjoyed the beautiful sunrises over the clear lake. Loons, frogs, ducks and coyotes serenaded us! Thank you for your hospitality and for welcoming our pooch Abby. Her labrador water nature really took hold. We're not sure who had a better time - her or us! Thanks again, Stan & Alison.
PS - Joanne - I found enough wild blueberries to make a scrumptious pie!
We rented both properties for our two families and had a wonderful time! Both cabins were clean and well-maintained, and very comfortable. The owners were welcoming and available as needed. The water was quite nice - the sand was a little mucky, but cleared up pretty quickly with some splashing around. We rented their pontoon boat, which was very nice and a lot of fun. Fishing was great for kids - lots of pan fish caught pretty quickly. Beautiful sunrises!
This was the perfect place for our family, we wanted to be close to home, yet have that "up north" feeling and this place was PERFECT!!! The pictures are so true to the place!!! Everything was clean and very well-maintained. The screen porch was the favorite place to sleep as the weather was hot and the mornings were great. We had a camp fire every night, caught some fish, and spent many hours in the water!!! This is a great place to come and get away. We were close enough to Danbury so we could get our "town fix" when we needed. Absolutely loved the sandy shoreline. Thanks Dan and Joann for a great family getaway!!!
My family decided to try to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a long weekend. We hit a homerun with this property. It had everything we were looking for and more. It was very private yet close enough to get groceries, shop, etc. The golfers in the group decided to hit the Siren National. A great track at a good value that was only about 20 minutes away. The kids (and adults)in the group loved the fact that there wasn't a steep drop off into deep water. It was gradual and safe. At night, the fire pit and wood supplied to us made for a great evening of relaxation. Overall, we had a great experience here and look forward to hopefully another one next year!
Our family (and water dog) rented this house for a late summer week. The cabin was very private and quiet compared to north woods resorts, and very well-equipped compared to other vacation rentals we have stayed in. The area is lovely, with lots of options for day trips and activities. The lake is shallow, and we pulled in loads of super-sized bull bluegills. Dan could not have been more helpful, calling a few times to make sure we were settled in and had everything we needed. A great place to hang out in the north woods.
We had an amazing time at your property. The owners were so helpful and accomodating for our dogs. It was the first time all of our dogs were able to come and enjoy the lake as well. Weather was hot, hot, hot which made the lake oh so much better!! Can't wait to visit again!!
My wife and I stayed in the Brass Bell for 2-1/2 weeks. We had a very relaxing time at the cabin, and it was very clean and well appointed. The cabin featured nice full-size appliances (including a dishwasher!) and a very nicely remodeled bathroom with a large, clean shower. Pictures online were very accurate representation of the property. The lake was good for both boating and swimming (...to be accurate, there were some weeds in the lake, but they were cleaned out of an area by the dock and out past the dock that made for a very sufficient swimming area, and they did not pose a problem). The screened porch was great, and we spent a lot of time relaxing there by the lake bug-free. Though we did not use the fire-pit (it was in the 90's most days we were there), it was nice to know that it was available with a very adequate supply of wood.
The location was not far from 2 small towns (Webster and Danbury) with a decent grocery and services. We went canoeing on the Namekagon River through Pardun's Canoe Rental in Danbury, and had a terrific time. Restaurants are available and varied throughout the area, and even the theater in nearby Siren was welcome on a rainy day. We look forward to being able to come back and spend more time at this cabin.
