The Perreal hill is an interesting walking area itself with its variety in forests and gypsum rockformations, great views on the surrounding valley and noteworthy geographical history. But you can also walk directly into the Luberon valley with its little villages and hamlets. Walking between vineyards, orchards, olive trees, and cypresses one can imagine why this region is often cited as the Toscane of the Provence.
The Parc Regional Naturel de Luberon is a nationally protected heritage site which features natural forests, cherry orchards, vineyards, old villages, castles and lavender fields. This blending of nature and man made history is unique, not only in France but also the rest of Europe.

The Luberon Mountain region offers visitors all forms of sights, serenity, activities and shopping, but as yet has not been overrun by the tourist industry.

Very beautiful landscaped gardens, shady and sunny areas. Astonishing views on Luberon valley, also known as Tuscany of the Provence. Large comfortably temperatured pool with motorized sliding cover. All in the middle of a beautiful varied natural surrounding with forests, small scale wineries, and orchards, dotted with pittoresque and lovely medieval villages
Suitable for groups of couples and singles as well as families with children of all ages. Water temperature in pool very comfortable. Amazing views on valley. Extensive property, great for adventurous children, but also with lots of places to find quietness when wanted.
Trails for wandering, biking and hiking right form the entrance.
Eleven of us stayed here, including five children aged 2 to 9. We all had a fantastic time and would happily have stayed another week!
The owners were there when we arrived and couldn't have been more helpful.
The house and grounds are spacious and well cared for and the view is amazing!
The pool is a great size and there are plenty of loungers and seats for everyone. However the shallow end is not very shallow, even the nine year olds struggled to touch the bottom (it didn't seem to affect their enjoyment though) It's useful to have a fridge by the pool too. The trampoline and play area are right next to the pool which is handy for keeping an eye on the children.
All the bedrooms are light and spacious and have their own bathroom, although beware the mezzanine bed really isn't for little ones.
If you're with little ones then there isn't anything in walking distance, but it's only a few minutes in the car to Saint Saturnin (which is well worth a visit) or ten minutes into Apt with shops, cafes and the huge supermarket. There are loads of fantastic places to visit in this area of Provence (we've been three times now) and the house provides a really good base to explore.
The owners have provided two mountain bikes and I can totally recommend a sun-down bike ride along the quiet roads around the property - whatever your fitness level. Although you may have to walk the last bit up the very steep hill to the house.
If you're feeling more energetic my husband and his brother hired bikes and cycled to the top of Mont Ventoux....
There's also a small lake for fishing about five minutes away which my boys loved (take your own kit though).
All in all a great holiday, thanks Maria and Paul!
We could find no fault with this property which was so well equipped that there were two of most things. The house was spotlessly clean and had ample space for our family of 6. Paul and Maria were extremely helpful and couldn't have facilitated a better stay for us, their aim is for guests to enjoy themselves and we certainly did. My husband had to stay in touch with work and had no problems staying connected. The surrounding area is stunning and we made good use of the 2 bikes there to explore, particularly to Roussillon. There are many shops and restaurants in Apt, and 2 lovely bakeries and a couple of very good restaurants in St Saturnin. There is a peaceful walk up to the church and ancient settlement ruins on top of the Perreal hill straight from the house which we enjoyed. The listing is totally accurate and Paul and Maria are a pleasure to deal with.
A lovely villa with amazing views across the Luberon valley, it is well equipped and handy for the local village which has great restaurants, bakeries and a small grocery. This villa has something to offer for all ages, whether you want to relax on the terrace by the pool or burn up some energy on the trampoline. We particularly enjoyed the exploring the local walks straight from the gate out into woodland and past fields of vines to reach nearby villages for a coffee and croissant. The rooms are all very comfortable and clean, and the villa is very well equipped. The loft bedroom is fine for older children and teenagers (or in our case an adventurous adult) providing you don't mind a tall ladder to reach your bed! The owners are very friendly and helpful with lots of tips for local activities. Just one minor grumble was three are a few trip risks on the paving around the pool which means young children or older guests should be extra careful.
We spent two lovely weeks at the villa. We were a family group of 11 in total (7 adults, 4 children). The villa is really well laid out with four good sized bedrooms on the ground floor with ensuite bathrooms. There is a smaller bedroom upstairs which is best for older children (not adults), and it was really nice to have a big open plan living area also. We spent nearly all our time eating out on the ground floor terrace just looking out at the most amazing view across the valley. The garden is well kept and the pool is a really nice size , with the most awesome sunken trampoline just next to it. All the kids wanted to do was swim and jump. This made for a really relaxing holiday. The location of this villa is truly fantastic with so many beautiful villages and towns to visit nearby. We will have to come back as there is still so much more for us to see and do, and we need more of that view.
For the perfect Provence holiday this house is hard to beat. Fabulous views, and one of the best pools I have ever swum in. The pool has several well covered areas for pale English skins. Garden is wonderful with scent of lavender everywhere, plenty of space, plenty of shade. Four wonderful bedrooms en suite, but fifth bedroom not really useable unless you have an older child who doesn't mind sleeping in a loft space. The owner's response to small niggles quick and effective. Would certainly recommend. Location is perfect -- more or less 45 minutes from just about anywhere you wish to go.
We returned to Paul and Maria's wonderful home for a second two-week visit this summer, as our first visit two years ago could not have been more perfect. We had our three young children (ages 5, 8 and 10), as well as my parents. The house accommodated us all quite comfortably. The kids once again loved the large pool, as well as the new addition of the trampoline. We all loved the idyllic setting and beautiful views, and meals al fresco on the porch and patio. The house is a 15 minute walk from a charming small village, and within a 30-60 minute drive there are many different beautiful towns to visit for day trips. The house, gardens and pool provide a wonderful retreat to relax in the afternoon and evening after some outings. Paul and Maria take meticulous care of the house and we found it has everything we needed. We hope to come back again!
We have stayed at Paul and Maria's home in the Luberon valley three times. The accomodations and the property are top notch. The latest addition, a sunken trampoline next to the swimming pool, was a real crowd pleaser - and not just for the kids.
Most importantly, the view from the upstairs terrace is guaranteed to sooth your soul - from sunrise to sunset.
