Water Front 6 Bedroom Squam Lake House
About Sara Blenkhorn
My family originally built the lake house in the 1950's and generations have been spending summers there since!
Sara Blenkhorn purchased this Cottage in 1950
Why Sara Blenkhorn chose Ashland
The best aspects of the property include: the privacy (located off a secluded private road), evening sunset views on the water, deep water swimming from the dock, shallow water access from the walk in wooden stair well, views down the east, west and north sides of Little Squam Lake
What makes this Cottage unique
The porch living room has sliding windows when pushed back create a screened-in porch with comfortable couches to relax and watch sunsets, spend some time with family or read a a book. The outdoor fire pit is right on the water's edge, its a peaceful and relaxing experience to spend time with family or friends just enjoying the moment. It is a great place for children to roast marshmallow s'mores after dinner, and adults to relax in the evening outdoors by the lake.

Loved this hidden gem
Great location on Little Squam, plenty of amenities, & overall clean & tidy. We really enjoyed this lake house & would love to go back!
Thanks Brittany, we would love to have you and your family again next year!
6 days of rain was still fun @ Little Squam
If you would enjoy an old, rustic lakeside house, this is the place for you. The lake was easily accessible for the youngest to the oldest in our group! We were introduced to "dock spiders" and once the screaming subsided, we learned to share the docks with them! There is ample room for a large family gathering, but the bathrooms are in serious need of some updating and TLC. The kitchen is very small but has the most amazing views of the lake! Our granddaughter enjoyed the pass through window to the porch! The stairs leading to the second floor are narrow and steep with no railing, but the space upstairs was a welcome relief when we needed some alone time. The fans were not only appreciated but needed with a week of rain and humidity. Neighbors were very friendly. Lots of space for everyone. Kindly, Pam
Fabulous spot. Perfect for family vacation. Sara and her family are wonderful hosts!
awesome views, easy access to the lake, local amenities, and other venues such as hiking.
takes you away from the demands of every day life
We had a fun week.
The dock is big enough for both of our boats while leaving plenty of room for jumping into the water. The float beyond it makes a nice destination for swimming. We enjoyed the fire pit, with all the chairs around it, for making s'mores. The cottage provided everything we needed, even a fan in each bedroom and plenty of extra blankets.(nights on the lake can be chilly even though the day is hot) The kitchen is well equipped. It all contributed to an easy going week.
Nice outdoor property right on the lake, we had a lovely week
We had a great week overall. We loved the location, although prefer Big Squam to Little Squam, however the house does have an amazing site on the water's edge. The house suited us fine, but overall I would say the house is a bit run-down --- it fits a lot of people so that is a plus, but the beds/mattresses are old, and the furniture is weathered/old, and the kitchen is small. The nicest room is the porch but it is overcrowded with too many old couches that feel worn/dusty. I would say the house was moderately clean.
