We (9 friends) had an amazing stay at Villa El Cantico. We loved everything, from the openness of the house, but still the rooms were secluded enough for us to get some privacy, the pool and outside area, the surroundings of the rain forest, the monkeys who visited every day, to the daily maid service. Raquel was amazing and did not only clean up the kitchen, and took care of the bathrooms and bedrooms, she even washed our cloth. It's wonderful to come back from vacation with a suitcase full of clean cloth. We decided not to use the chef for the whole week, since we are all in the hospitality industry and like to cook ourselves, most of the time we would just grill some meat or seafood on the outdoor grill, right by the pool. When we did use Chef Anna, the meals always were fantastic. We didn't tell her what to cook, we gave her the freedom of cooking with the freshest ingredients that she could find that day and we were pleased with all of it, from the brunch, over the traditional rice and chicken dish with beans, fish, dessert, etc. She even made a birthday cake for me. One of the nice things about the house is, that it is secluded, with a private guard, surrounded by wonderful palm trees and tropical flowers. We always felt super safe and the other nice thing about the house is the location. We could be as loud as we wanted and nobody was bothered by us. Not that we are a rowdy group, by all means, but we did like our late night swims in the pool. We loved the outside speakers on the pool area too, since this is where we spent most of our time. You would think we would go out a lot and explore the neighborhood/area, but we had such a good time as a group together and all the amenities of the house, that we only left once for the beach and of course the typical activities like Zip-Lining, the National Park, Mangrove and some of us went on a boat tour/snorkeling. The house conveniently is located close to a lot of restaurants and bars, small supermarket, beaches and one of them is less then 10 minutes walking distance, and the National Park is a short drive, as well as Quepos. I told Raquel (the maid) the first day, that I would love to see a sloth and that she should keep her eyes open and let me know when she sees one. She sadly reported every day that she didn't see one, but that everybody is on alert for sloth sighting. Not until the 2nd last day of our stay did I see one. This is when Raquel came to work to tell me that the guard from a neighboring house saw one and that she could talk me there to show me the sloth. It was so sweet, we both took a little stroll and sure enough she showed me a sloth, far up sleeping in a tree. All the people working for Villa El Cantico, starting with the house manager Melissa, to Raquel, Anna, Rudolfo (in-charge of pool/area) and the guards are so nice and were so helpful with any and all of our questions. We definitely would come back to Villa El Cantico.

Melissa,

Our little group (3 families) just returned from our annual Easter vacation jaunt... each year we try some place new. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we had at Villa El Cantico. The house is truly 'life styles of the rich and famous'. The pictures on the web do not do it justice. 'It's beautiful'. Raoul made sure we were picked up at Quepos airport. The fridge was stocked and ready for a snack and cold cocktail upon arrival. Arriving late Friday, Maria across the street at Issimo Suites, had a table for 8 waiting with a delicious meal (sunset was beautiful).

Each morning found us with coffee or mimosa in hand watching the monkeys play in the trees just of the deck. We saw so much from the deck of the Villa (monkeys, lizards, beautiful birds). The house staff were splendid and very discrete. They pointed out a three-toed sloth in the tree.

This years vacation to Costa Rica left everyone asking 'where did the week go?' We normally start talking about the next Easter vacation around summers end, but Villa El Cantico is already on our lips for a return trip next year. I have a feeling our little group may grow. High marks to Villa El Cantico. Anyone who contemplates traveling to Costa Rica should make this their home base.

You and El Cantico were excellent ,

See you again

John, Pottstown, PA.

Melissa,

I truly can not capture the amount of fun we had at Villa El Cantico in words. It was the greatest vacation that we have ever had. The Brumleys and the Chiapellas also stated it was their favorite vacation as well.

We saw more wildlife from the deck of the Villa than we did at any other location. Ricardo, Andrea and Louis were top notch. Ricardo acted as a tour guide during our trip from San Jose to Quepos. He also stopped with us at the super market for groceries. Andrea was at the house every day for 6-8 hours but was very discrete. She and the gardener would point out wildlife in the yard. My daughter tried and liked food that she never would have in the States. The kids got bad sunburns surfing and Louis came over with a special local sunburn treatment. He also helped us with restaurants and shopping.

Lastly, I would like to thank you. I know this was a last minute change and you handled it very professional making us quite comfortable before we arrived. I would recommend Villa El Cantico to anyone who is interest in Costa Rica.

Thanks again

Melissa:

My family and I just returned home from our visit to fabulous Villa El Cantico with the Brown’s (My Sister Carol and her husband David). We literally had the time of our lives. The home provided us the most spectacular combination of luxury, view and overall experience. Thank you for accommodating our group on such short notice. Everyone was nice and helpful beyond words. Our families have fallen in love with the home, the region, the community and all of the Villa related people we met. Please pass along our sincere thanks to everyone in Quepos involved in our trip.

We are already talking about a return trip.

Warmest Regards and that you again,

Bill, Janet, Tyler & Eric Brumley

P.S. I will be emailing you some incredible monkey pictures in the next few days.

Melissa and Kevin,

We have a fabulous time on vacation! Villa El Cantico far exceeded our expectations and everything was perfect. Raoul was very thorough in all manners including, giving us a driving tour of the area, pointing out beaches and incredible vistas, showing us how to work technical items in the house, and making tour arrangements. We couldn't have been happier. Andrea, our housekeeper, was so hardworking and did a great job. The guards and groundkeeper kept the villa and grounds safe and clean and even cleaned our car. We loved the house and mourned leaving!

My husband, kids and I had arrived in Costa Rica a week earlier and explored Poas, Arenal and Monteverde having a great time and learning much along the way.

Once on the beach in Manuel Antonio, we felt at home. I am trying to figure out when we can return!

Thank you so much for all of your help in making the rental process smooth as well as answering my many questions.

God Bless,

Rhonda

Top Notch!

  • 5 of 5

Cannot say enough about this place. The location was just a short distance to many of our activities, the house itself was large, comfortable, well appointed and met all of our needs. The pool was outstanding and the view was unbeatable. Melissa, our travel planner, went above and beyond, and I would HIGHLY recommend her for your trip to Costa Rica. Sophia, our chef, and Carmen, her grandmother and assistant, were warm, friendly, flexible and excellent at their craft. There was just the right mix of exotic and familiar food. Please consider using Sophia for your visit - you will not be disappointed. The cleaning staff did a good job - I loved the daily laundry service - and the pool and grounds maintenance staff was excellent. All in all a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be back to Villa El Cantico!

Villa El Cantico is a wonderful place to vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Villa El Cantico was beyond wonderful!! This house is like having your own all-inclusive resort with a private infinity pool, chef, maid, laundry service, along with the amazing house manger, Melissa to ensure your vacation is perfect from start to finish!

The staff is wonderful and very efficient. Sophia, the chef is willing to prepare meals as often as desired and her food is beyond delicious!! The pool area was kept immaculate.

Melissa set up our adventures and we enjoyed top-notch experiences on the ATV tour, Zip-lining, and Catamaran dinner cruise. She was absolutely wonderful and I can't thank her enough for making our vacation a trip of a lifetime. She was very organized, efficient and helpful in every way!

I can't describe the beauty of this property that overlooks the Manuel Antonio National Forest and Pacific Ocean. Along with enjoying the beautiful pool we were able to enjoy watching a momma sloth with her baby, toucans, iguanas, and monkeys as they played in the trees and visited our pool every day. This home is beyond the pictures and descriptions!

This house and property are truly the absolute BEST for a perfect vacation. This is our second trip to Villa El Cantico and we WILL be back!!

So glad you enjoyed your own "all inclusive resort here" and being entertained by the amazing nature that abounds every day while enjoying the pool. Villa el Cantico was wonderful! Clean, comfortable with an amazing view of the Pacific and Manuel Antonio National Park across the bay. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Sophia, our chef kept us fed with delicious food that she made from scratch two times daily, I still miss her cooking! The pool was perfect too! Everyday we saw monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and toucans from the pool deck. If you desire the beach, it's literally a short walk away. Melissa, the property manager set us up with our daily excursions, we went ATV'ing in the jungle, swimming near a waterfall, zip lining, and lastly a sunset dinner catamaran cruise. Truly the best vacation ever. We will be back!
