The Ranch at Roaring Fork has it all- private, stocked Gold Medal Fishing streams, tennis, 9 hole golf, biking/walking trails, 300 acres of open space and Mt. Sopris vistas. Combine this condo with VRBO #278405 (downstairs) and you can accommodate 10 guests. This top floor condo has a fully equipped kitchen and comes with all linens included. It has a gas grill, deck, fireplace and covered parking. The Ranch is right on a bus route, for easy shuttles to the ski slopes and all the glitter of Aspen (just 30 mins away). The shops, restaurants and festivals of downtown Carbondale are just a few minutes away. My house wasn’t big enough to hold all the guests I had recently, so I rented this condo for the overflow. The Ranch is a great location if you need lodging between Basalt and Carbondale. The condo itself was nicely decorated and it was fully stocked with kitchen ware so my sister could feed her kids easily. My brother in law loved the private fishing badges that came with the unit.
We enjoyed our stay in this nicely furnished and very clean 2 bedroom, second floor condo at the Ranch at Roaring Fork. It appeared that all the furniture, bedding and bathrooms had been recently updated. Charming decor and nice spacious rooms, though there was a musty smell to the unit, perhaps because it hadn't been rented in awhile? Or maybe the carpeting could do with a professional cleaning if there have been pets staying here? The unit was really clean however.
The location of the RRF development is along Rt 82 in Carbondale. Carbondale downtown is about 5-10 min away and is adorable with a few excellent restaurants and interesting shopping.
This condo is ideal for folks who want to fish as the river flows along the development or golf at the well-maintained Par 3 course, though anyone visiting family or friends in Carbondale or Basalt would like the location too. It'll be a 25-30 min drive to ski at either Snowmass, Aspen Highlands or Aspen.
The key "pros" of this property are the updated interior, spaciousness and access to the river and golf. The only "cons" for us was the fact that it was August and quite warm during the day and with no air conditioning we had to have the windows open at night. This unit looks over a pretty golf course, but also Rt 82 which is heavily traveled especially in the morning. The road noise was a bit of a surprise.
All in all, we would return, especially if it was not in the summer and the windows would be closed.
