This is a cozy and bright getaway in the Berkshires. 3 bedrooms and 1 loft, comfortably sleeps 6 people, can sleep up to 10. Living room and dining room have lofted ceilings and big windows overlooking the Deerfield River. Full kitchen, laundry, and 2.5 bathrooms. Radiant heating keeps the house wonderfully warm in the winter, and the breezeway is the perfect place to relax in the summer.
It's a quiet, family house and we are looking for quiet, respectful guests.
Situated in between Shelburne Falls and Charlemont, on the historic Mohawk Trail, this house is ideally located near quaint New England towns, activities for all seasons (Berkshire East Ski Resort, Zoar Outdoor Whitewater Rafting, and miles of beautiful trails in the woods all within 15 minutes of the house). Plenty of delicious dining options nearby.
The house was built in 2003, and the lumber was milled at the Hall Tavern Farm--which is just down the road from the house! The construction is entirely mortice and tenon (no nails!) and has spectacular woodworking features. Contact us if you'd like a tour of a working farm, including a sawmill, big barn, and 400 acres of woods.
Washer, dryer, and dishwasher. TV and DVD player.
No cable. No Wifi.
My siblings and I share ownership of this house, which our parents built in 2003.
This house is cozy and bright, nestled away in the Berkshires, and surrounded by such wonderful scenery and people.
Radiant heating! Proximity to many different activities, and also to solitude and relaxation, depending on your mood. The house is new, so it has many modern amenities. But it feels rustic and traditional.
We had a lovely few days at this home in the Berkshires, set high above Route 2, surrounded by fields. It is stunning and functional.
The only thing more beautiful than the home are the grounds. The back yard overlooking the river was so peaceful. We really enjoyed the book collection, some funny stuff!
The greatest drawback was the small kitchen but it worked fine, especially when we used the grill for cooking. It was very well equipped.
The owners were pleasant in all our dealings. We only rented two nights but wish we had more time to take in the area.
The trout fishing was not up to par this year (although my oldest son had pretty good luck), but the family time in the evenings were great. The house serves us well. We are (6) men that includes grand father, fathers, and grand sons. We cook in (mostly grilling), play a lot of cards, have a few brews, and just enjoy our time together. The sleeping, bathrooms, and lounging accommodations are perfect for us. This was our second year at this house.
We stayed over a long weekend to ski and enjoy Shelburn Falls. Wonderful experience. The home easily accommodated our group of eight including four children. Beautiful and unique, the home is very well situated for both activities. The kids loved exploring the yard as well. Will be back!
This home was the perfect spot for a New Year's Eve reunion of college friends. The property is beautiful and the house has tons of personality -- it feels like a log cabin but with all the amenities you need to host 9 people! A spacious kitchen, huge ceilings, unique architecture, and of course radiant heated floors!! The three king beds plus 4 singles were perfect for our group -- as were the trails behind the house, the beautiful Deerfield River, and the quaint but bustling Shelburne Falls, which has a handful of good shops, bookstores, diners (Foxtowne) and the highly highly recommended Shelburne Falls Bowling for some candlepin action. We already are talking about making this a yearly retreat from Boston/NYC -- thanks!
We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday with family who came in from several cities. Lissa was extremely quick to answer questions and accommodate our needs. The house is beautiful, clean, bright and cozy. We had a great time exploring the towns in the area and going for a hike. Would definitely stay again.
