Narrow Escape Rental sits in a quiet neighborhood in the village of Elberta with a short walk to Betsie Bay, just a half mile from the shores of Lake Michigan and one mile around the bay from Frankfort. Our 900 square foot rental has a private back yard with a privacy fence that backs up to a wooded bluff, and is just 150 yards from Elberta’s waterfront park and the Life Saving Station — a popular venue for weddings and events.
The area is full of recreational outdoor opportunities and a number of good coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques and art galleries. In addition to typical amenities, the rental includes five bicycles for exploring the area. Internet service and a gas grill is also available.
The house has a roomy main living space with a comfortable seating arrangement. The three bedrooms include beds of the following sizes: a queen in the master bedroom, a full size in room 2, and three single (twin size) beds in room 3 (a built-in bunk with an extra third bed). The dining table seats six people, and the bathroom includes a washer and dryer for your convenience. The kitchen is furnished with custom cabinets, a full-size stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric stove, coffeemaker, dishes and utensils.

Clark and Lynne Most:
We are graphic designers who live in Midland, MI and run a graphic design business called 'RedPoint Design Direction' . Clark also is a professor at Central Michigan University where he teaches graphic design.
We have three children, 2 cats and a chihuahua and have been enjoying our trips to the Frankfort area for about 15 years.
Clark Most purchased this house in 2010
The location is just one block off the main road in Elberta that goes to the beach and i love the bluff area directly behind the house. I also like the Elberta side of Betsie Bay because it is quieter than the north side. The rental has a great location being close to the bike trails, Trick dog coffee house, Elberta Park and Elberta beach on Lake Michigan.
Great location, clean, decorated so tastefully with little touches of funky art. Perfect location just tucked back in a cozy corner of town. Fully stocked with blankets, towels, TP, and anything else you might need. Easy access to the beach. Dad watched the Banksy DVD and very much enjoyed it. Thank you Clark!
This property worked great for our family of 4 with plenty of room to spare. The home is functional and the beds are comfortable. The window ac units did a fine job of keeping the home comfortable in the August heat. Elberta is an adorable little village with lots to offer. Visit the Cabbage Shed for a great meal. We used the bikes here at the house and they worked fine for a nice trip to Frankfort. The Frankfort beach is so amazing. Nice, clean shallow water. The village of Frankfort offers fabulous shopping and dining. Overall a wonderful trip! Thank you for the accommodations.
We stayed at Narrow Escape for the weekend of our son and daughter-in-law's Elberta wedding, and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. The house was exactly as described: clean, well-appointed, and close to everything. We only live an hour away, so we're well acquainted with the many activities that the area provides and would highly recommend this area for a visit, and this as the place to stay. We held the rehearsal dinner at The Cabbage Shed and the wedding was at the Elberta Life Saving Station which couldn't have been more convenient.....and beautiful! Additionally, Clark was a wonderful host - very responsive and very easy to work with.
Mr. Most was very easy to communicate and work with! The house was amazing! Had the BEST trip and experience! Will be back for sure! Price was very nice and also like the flexibility to stay only a few nights versus a full week.
We had a wonderful time in Frankfort and the surrounding towns. Clark's home was great for our group. The space is very convenient and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Also, we slept so well on the beds!
My wife and son and I were the first renters of the 2016 season. Clark is a wonderful host and a genuine, kind person who was still at the home when we arrived and busy making sure everything was in order for our stay. He even went out and purchased a couple large packages of toilet paper when he realized he had neglected to bring some with him. We needed nothing at all during our stay. Everything was provided and wow, the house was really decorated very hip and contemporary. A graphic design professor, Clark has a lot of his personal art and photographs around the house. The newly renovated house featured a very nice kitchen, large flat panel TV, wireless (fast) internet, and more. The house was also very quiet and the furnishings were clean and comfortable. Since it is on the south shore of Lake Betsie, Frankfort is just about 5 minutes away and Beulah is about 15 minutes away. Definitely grab a burger at the Cabbage Shed just around the corner. If you are in Frankfort, try The Dinghy for supper and Kilwins for dessert. If in Beulah, don't leave without a piece of cherry pie at the Cherry Hut. Awesome places. Overall, we absolutely hope to rent from Clark again. He was very helpful and had great communication. Definitely 5 stars on this one!
