Narrow Escape Rental sits in a quiet neighborhood in the village of Elberta with a short walk to Betsie Bay, just a half mile from the shores of Lake Michigan and one mile around the bay from Frankfort. Our 900 square foot rental has a private back yard with a privacy fence that backs up to a wooded bluff, and is just 150 yards from Elberta’s waterfront park and the Life Saving Station — a popular venue for weddings and events.
The area is full of recreational outdoor opportunities and a number of good coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques and art galleries. In addition to typical amenities, the rental includes five bicycles for exploring the area. Internet service and a gas grill is also available.
The house has a roomy main living space with a comfortable seating arrangement. The location is just one block off the main road in Elberta that goes to the beach and i love the bluff area directly behind the house. I also like the Elberta side of Betsie Bay because it is quieter than the north side. The rental has a great location being close to the bike trails, Trick dog coffee house, Elberta Park and Elberta beach on Lake Michigan.
My family and I enjoyed coming up for our Fall Break for three nights. My youngest (2.5) stayed in the middle bedroom and the two oldest we're excited to use the bunk beds. The location was nice with two playgrounds in close walking distance in a sleepy town on the lake. We spent most of our trip touring by car around the lower peninsula of MI and seeing the fall peak colors. The nearby town of Frankfort is cute and has some good food choices, though this area is relatively rural. We hoped to use the fire pit, but it rained instead. We liked that the hope was artfully put together with nice details. We didn't cook or wash clothes, but it all seemed to be in good condition.
Clark was great to work with, and he was thoughtfully helpful yet not pushy like some homeowners are. We'd definitely stay here again.
We stayed here in August 2015. We're a family of 6, and the house was more than enough room for us. The kids loved the bunk beds and the playground just walking distance away. We explored all around and have some great memories of the town and surrounding areas. I love Lake Michigan in the summertime. Thanks for offering your home! We enjoyed our mini get-away!
House is nice and well located. The Elberta side is much quieter than the Frankfort side and we really enjoyed the home. We plan to return!!
Great spot near Lake Michigan in a quiet neighborhood in the Village of Elberta. The owner has done a lot of work to nicely update the interior. Great having a washer and dryer. Nice two adult and one child's bikes; although we brought our own but were able to use a locked shed to store ours while not in use. Bring your own radio so you can listen to Interlochen music camp. TV with large screen although we did not use it. Very near the biking trail and farmers market that runs on Thursdays.
This handsome small home in Elberta provides a quiet haven yet is close to almost anything you'd like to do. Literally around the corner and down the other side of the bluff you'll find a pristine Lake Michigan beach with exquisite sunsets. A 22-mile bike trail is nearby and a great farmers market happens on Wednesday. It is clean, well-maintained with all the appliances you need, real art on the walls and cool objects on display. You can drink your coffee on the deck up on the bluff that catches the sunrise. Sleeping Bear Dunes, wineries, galleries and more are day trips. Check out the Conundrum Cafe during the day, the Cabbage Shed at night and the quirky Monumental Finds around the Frankfort side of the bay.
Finding a vacation spot for a large family, with kids' ages ranging from 17 to 8, can be difficult. This spot was perfect. The house is located a close distance from Lake Michigan, multiple beaches, a walk-out pier with lighthouse, and an excellent shopping strip in downtown Frankfort. Not far away are other great attractions that we were able to enjoy like Sleeping Bear Dunes, Crystal Lake, Traverse City, tons of little towns to explore, wineries, horse back riding, boating, fishing, eating, and more eating! All of our kids had a blast, not to mention my wife and I. We would highly recommend this spot!
