We call our place Casa de la Madrugada because we love the magical hour just at daybreak from the terrace. Breezy, sunny, two bedroom, two bathroom condo a short walk to the town square, with groceries, ATM's and restaurants. In addition to the abundance of great restaurants, other culinary highlights include a fish co-op, a small farmer's market, a tortilla 'factory', and a fruit truck that frequently makes the rounds all over town.
The condo's finest feature is a large terrace overlooking the beach and pool with palapas and lounge chairs. The condo has a well-appointed kitchen, and extensive selection of CD's, DVD's and books for guests' use.
Casita Blanca is a well-maintained small condo complex, with friendly management on-site to assist with any inevitability. Many of the amenities town offers, such as snorkeling, yoga on the beach, massage, bike rentals, and of course, great snorkeling and diving, are all available nearby.
We live in central Vermont and have a small catering company out of our home. We enjoy travelling, gardening, cooking, biking and other outdoor activities.
Gretchen and Greg purchased this condo in 2014
We have been visiting Puerto Morelos for over 10 years and became quickly enamored with its relaxed nature, abundance of locally owned cafes and restaurants, and small town charm. We were thrilled to be able to purchase this property from Michael and Celeste Cimorelli and look forward to welcoming their guests back and doing our best to continue their tradition of gracious hospitality.
Casita Blanca offers the best of what Puerto Morelos has to offer-a lovely stretch of beach, within easy walking distance to the village square. Our place is sunny and spacious, allowing you to feel like you're at the beach even while your in the condo.
My husband and I stayed at Gretchen's very lovely condo the last week of May. We have stayed in Puerto Morelos many times, but this was our first time at Casita Blanca, and we loved it so much we will be returning there in the future. The pool and grounds are perfectly maintained, the staff are all friendly and helpful, and Gretchen's condo has a wonderful straight on view of the beach and ocean from the living room balcony. It was heaven to just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view! The condo was very nicely furnished and had all the extras that anyone would need while vacationing. We especially like all the restaurants in town, and it was an easy walk (either on the road or on the beach) to the town square. There are plenty of places to eat and drink along the way, too. We cannot wait to go back---we missed hitting several spots that looked like fun! Do not miss out on this town or this condo! Gretchen was also very easy to work with.
My wife, seven year old daughter and I spent two wonderful weeks at Gretchen's Casa De La Madrugada condo. The view was spectacular, the condominium was spotless and there was a wonderful assortment of appliances/utensils to satisfy every need. I would, without hesitation, recommend Casita Blanca and especially Casa De La Madrugada for your next trip to Quintana Roo, Mexico. We sincerely look forward to another trip to this special place.
Our family had a wonderful vacation! This unit has wonderful views of the beach and is position just north of town. The unit has all the amenities you need and is very tidy. We loved our stay and location. My only advice to all Puerto Morelos visitors is bring Pesos. The ATM's in town were out of order often and many restaurants and shops are cash only. This was are only inconvenience during our trip. Otherwise Casita Blanca and Puerto Morelos is a little slice of paradise.
Arriving from the smog of Beijing, Puerto Morelos was literally a breath of fresh air! This condo was absolutely delightful and Gretchen was truly easy and fantastic to work with despite our differences of time zones! Between this condo and another, we housed the extended family of 9 of us--from gramma to the kids. It was superb. The listing does a good job in telling it like it is... a cozy, lovely, and wonderful spot on the beach. We would love to be back!
My wife and I recently returned from a week in Puerto Morelos, staying at this rental. The whole experience was very positive. The apartment was neat and clean, the beachfront location featured marvelous sun rises and refreshing afternoon and evening breezes. Tropical landscaping added to the experience as did the easy walk to the town center - about 15 minutes by the beach or by the road. Travel to nearby tourist traps, e.g. Playa Carmen, Cancun , Tulum, and Cozumel was cheap and easy by "Collectivo" vans or bus, or there is always the option of taking a taxi. Restaurants were plentiful in Puerto Morelos but it was not overrun by T-shirt shops and the like. Snorkeling on the shallow reef a couple of hundred yards offshore was excellent, containing many coral and fish varieties. Boats with guides and equipment will get your there at a cost of $30 per person for 2 hours of snorkeling We found nothing, really, to complain about. Others might feel it is too quiet, for example lacking in crowds, commercial entertainments or U.S. TV access. If you like classical music, as we do, bring your own CD's. The apartment includes lots of recent DVD's for evening entertainments and there are a sufficient number of beachfront restaurants or bars where one can get a good mixed drink for a mere $5.
My husband and I recently spent a week at this condo and had a great time. All communication with the owner was very prompt and positive, and it is obvious that the owner makes a special effort to accommodate all guests. The condo has an updated list of available tours, activities and restaurants in the area. The condo itself is very clean, well stocked, comfortable, colorfully decorated and inviting. The grounds and pool area are beautufully maintained and the ocean view from the condo balcony is spectacular. I especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony, feeling the ocean breeze and listening to the surf...what could be more relaxing? We were steps away from the beach and loved snorkeling and walking the beach. There are interesting little bars and restaurants along the beach and we ate freshly caught fish for many meals. We walked into the little town of Puerto Morelos most afternoons and evenings for wonderful meals, shopping and live music. We always felt secure while at the condo or in town day or night. We look forward to returning to this wonderful condo next year.
