About the property

Jewel box cottage across from the Bowl

A sweet property by the Stockbridge Bowl, Interlaken Cottage.

Our cottage is wonderful place to use as your base for all that the Berkshires has to offer! We have access to Tanglewood tickets and can help you choose the best seats for your needs and budget. We'll lend you all picnic equipment and more!

We took a 1950's cottage in a superb location and gut renovated it to create a luxurious and romantic hideaway for two. A place for quiet inspiration where you can enjoy the outdoors all day and world-class music and theater in the evenings.

Inside this jewel box cottage find a large great room with high ceilings, a queen-sized bed, gas fireplace, air conditioning, and loft with a 7' ceiling great for yoga, music study and a desk perfect for writing, thinking or working (if you must).

The house is equipped with high-speed internet, cable TV, Apple TV and a Sonos system. The house has its own iPad for your use while visiting.

The spacious screened living room is fully furnished to entertain or just kick back. You’ll also find an outdoor gas grill, a canoe and more.

The well-appointed kitchen has granite counters, Sub-Zero with ice maker, cook top, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher and is well supplied with utensils in case you want to prepare a meal. We have a Nespresso machine, Krups coffee maker, and an electric tea kettle. We include Nespresso pods, Depot 6 coffee (regular and decaf) and PG Tips tea. We're serious about our caffeine!

In the pantry you'll find organic granola, snacks and nuts. We'll stock your favorite soft drinks too!

The bathroom has been created with soothing gray stone, glass tile and white marble with an extra large shower. Find soap, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, and toothpaste.

The all new furnishings and finishes feature pieces from Restoration Hardware and local favorite Pine Cone Hill while also incorporating some sturdy antiques, art and other touches of comfort. The look and feel is inspired by our travels to serene, five star hotels all over the world.

Interlaken Cottage is air conditioned and heated so you can be assured you’ll be comfortable whatever the weather.

This brand-new and beautiful cottage is a wonderful place to start a new tradition in the Berkshires.

We offer special discount rates for visiting Berkshire-area performing artists. Please contact us for details.

We're happy to recommend restaurants and other activities and there are so many to choose from...

Your stay at Interlaken Cottage includes two passes for free admission to area museums such as The Norman Rockwell Museum, Edith Wharton’s The Mount, The Berkshire Botanical Garden and Mass Moca.

There are numerous trails for hikes from novice to expert, the lake for swimming and kayaking and lovely country roads to explore.

We're 8 miles from Lee Premium Outlet Mall with stores including Cole Haan, Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Chicos, J. Crew and many more.

Shakespeare & Co., Barrington Stage and The Berkshire Theater Group are all under 10 minutes away.

Great Barrington with its unique shops, antiques and The Mahaiwe Theater is a scenic 15 minute ride.

The world-class Kirpalu Center for Yoga and Health is less than two miles away.

There are great public golf courses.

Jacob's Pillow is 15 miles away and Williamstown Theater Center is 30.

Interlaken Cottage is two miles from the lovely town of Lenox with its great shops, galleries and restaurants.

In Lenox you’ll also find the incomparable Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony, the Boston Pops and world-class musicians in classical, jazz and pop music.

We look forward to hosting you. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Your Hosts, Jessica and Peter

About Jessica Prince

Both born in Brooklyn, we lived in Manhattan for many years before settling in Stockbridge in 2011. Peter is a graphic designer and Jess produces large corporate business events. Our interests include art, music, great food and the outdoors making the Berkshires an ideal place to live.

Jessica Prince purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Jessica Prince chose Berkshires

We live walking distance to this property but our house does not have a screened porch or lake access. Jess walks for exercise and a favorite route is 'The Lake route' which takes her past this house. It was a rather sad looking place when she first saw it as it had not been lived in for a few years. Though it had no screen porch, it did have lake access and loads of potential so we decided to take it on as a renovation project. We now entertain on the screen porch, use the private community lake access right across the street for our canoe and house overflow guests. You'd never guess how many people want to come to visit the Berkshires!

What makes this cottage unique

The screened living room is a wonderful place to wile away the afternoon reading and an excellent place for cocktails and dinner before Tanglewood.

This cottage is the perfect place for quiet contemplation or to use as a jumping-off point for the entire Berkshires. We went canoeing right across the street a few times, went on several hikes in nearby Lenox and Tyringham. We went up to Williamstown to The Clark and the Williamstown Theater Festival. And spent plenty of time lounging around on the cottage's screened in porch. The cottage has tons of charm and you won't want to leave. Jess and Peter provide plenty of great suggestions of what to do and where to eat if you are new to the area. Enjoy!

We had a terrific stay at Interlaken Cottage. Jessica was phenomenal and very accommodating without being a bit intrusive. The cottage was just as described: perfect for two. The one pleasant surprise was the somewhat secluded location - there were no homes within sight, even though they were nearby on the very quiet gravel road. We took advantage of the canoe and spent time on the Stockbridge Bowl, rode our bicycles, took advantage of Jessica and Peter's museum passes (The Mount and the Botanical Gardens were lovely), and had amazing dinners in Great Barrington and Lenox. Kripalu is just five minutes away - booked a full day of body treatments and loved every minute. I highly recommend this tranquil retreat and look forward to returning. Thank you Jessica and Peter!

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves. The spot is particularly lovely and quiet and that is one reason we decided to take on the renovation project. You're welcome back anytime. The Berkshires are gorgeous in Fall, especially October. Thanks for staying! Best, Jess

Quiet and secluded, yet ideally located for trips to cultural venues like Jacob's Pillow, theatre festivals and Tanglewood, the cottage encourages relaxation. Lovely walks on Lake Drive, reading leading to sleeping on the bed or screen porch couch, lovely meals on the porch, and easy access to all the pleasures of the Berkshires. We loved our time at Interlakenho Cottage.

I don't write reviews, but for this place I am making an exception. This cottage is an absolute jewel. Charming, nice amenities, beautifully decorated, great location. Did I say charming? The owners have gone above and beyond to create a lovely little hideaway in a beautiful and private setting, and it's right around the corner from just about everything. One can't go wrong here.

I have known Jess for many years through our work, but our paths had never crossed personally until this past weekend. After a random invite, I decided to take them up on their offer to come stay at the cottage. My friend and I had a wonderful get away from our hectic lives in the city. We can't wait to come back! Sleeping with the fireplace on is a treat we would never get in NYC. Thank you Jess and Peter! We are very grateful,

Jill and Susan
