This all-season beachfront property, ensconced in the forest, is truly a nook. A two-storey home comes fully furnished with all amenities.
There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Living room with high-vaulted ceilings which includes a wood burning fireplace. Large kitchen which is fully equipped - everything you need to make your home cooked meals. Large main deck with stunning view for entertaining and BBQ-ing. Two additional decks available - a 'chill-out' deck off the second floor, and a beach deck.
This beachfront property also offers a swimming beach, children's park, and boat launching facility, nearby.
A great get-away place to relax and enjoy true cottage living.
Please note that there are a great deal of stairs. 70+ steps from the driveway to the cottage and about 100 steps from the cottage to the beach. The many stairs may be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues.
A group of us stayed over the Thanksgiving weekend and we had an amazing time. The house is breathtaking where it is situated overlooking the water and mountains. The house itself has everything you could need with a fully stocked kitchen with clean and comfortable surroundings. Helen was most helpful with her information guide and called to check that everything was ok after we arrived. We are definitely going to book this house again in the summer time so we can enjoy the beach and beautiful deck area.
Well kept, clean and tidy home. All necessities provided! Nothing lacking. Wildlife was wonderful, kingfisher, weasel, sea lions, deer. Ocean had starfish, jellyfish and a great private beach. Campfires at the water, were fantastic. Bear sightings in the area maybe once or twice a year according to the locals (however in W Sechelt - about 10 m from the parking lot (Gov't dock area) a Grizzly was sighted last night).
Welcome living room area with plenty of comfortable seating. Dining area has 6 chairs, but the patio outside (with coverage) has plenty of seats and dining table - this balcony! An incredible spot for morning coffee! Bathrooms are clean and updated, and plenty of really hot water with super water pressure! Bedrooms are roomy, and have great views.
We were well aware of the stairs (top to bottom 170 in total), they are indeed a work out! Items which we found could have improvements include, the beds (personal preference) and the stairs from the to the cottage from parking don't meet building code (a little unstable).
These items really are minor, we loved our visit at The Nook and would recommend it.
After a hectic and stressful summer we decided to "get away from it all" with a small group of close friends. The Nook was the perfect escape from our busy world.
The property was intimately surrounded by lush forest and pristine waters, offering the peace and privacy we were looking for. The mountain and water views from the balcony and bedrooms were definitely post-card material!
The cabin was very well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our delicious alfresco meals. The bathrooms were sparkling fresh and new.
We really appreciated the attention to detail - from the clean linens and towels, to the small light over the grill for those night-time BBQs!
The stairs were a great way to get some exercise in the fresh air - just what the Doctor ordered!
Our only regret, was that we did not stay longer...
Thanks to Helen for accommodating us, and making our short vacation picture perfect!
We look forward to our next stay at the Nook!

We absolutely loved our weekend getaway in The Nook at Sandy Hook. What a fantastic, peaceful and private setting. Our kids spent 3 days exploring the beach, collecting shells, making forts out of drift wood, finding crabs, and just being kids and never asking for any screen time! The accommodations were lovely. We had everything we needed for cooking, cleaning, sleeping and entertainment. Tons of movies and DVDs to choose. Our only suggestion would be getting some blinds on the bedroom windows. Thanks for the fabulous stay!
Really nice house. Clean and well laid-out. Water from the tap the best you can get to drink! So many VHS tapes to choose from we were having a blast :) the living room is an awesome common space for everyone to play games and watch movies. The kitchen is fully loaded and the automatic garbage can made us feel like we were in the future.
Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!
This property was exactly what we expected. Helen is extremely thorough in her directions and explanations of the amenities. Yes, there are a lot of stairs, but they are doable - you're in no rush, you're on holidays, right! The dishwasher was out of order when we were there, but not one of us died while washing the dishes by hand. The whole Sunshine Coast is a goldmine of treasures to explore - nothing is very far away and it is all amazing. We will definitely be back.
