Detached Single Family Home; 3 Bedrooms , 1Baths (Sleeps 6)
This classic 'Keys' home is located in a very quite established neighborhood. We have made all of our hurricane repairs, and the pictures are as of 3-15-18 There are no mobile homes, vacant lots, or trash of any kind anywhere near the home. Hide Away Cove is Conveniently located in the middle of Marathon for quick and easy access to many shops, restaurants and attractions.
The house is a Three Bedroom and sleeps 5 with sleeper sofa in a smaller 3rd bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need to cook your sunset evening meals.
There is a patio overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with a barbeque grill, and plenty of seating for a crowd. Relax in the hot tub as you watch the boats sail by wondering which islands they are destined for.
Dock your Flats boat out your back door.
The water is shallow at low tide, which is very common in the keys, the dock is not suitable for boats other than a flats.

About Mike or Patti Rhine
My husband and I fell in love with the Keys while visiting from Decatur Texas, in 2010. We looked for the perfect vacation home for our family for nearly a year. Marathon is a great community, with wonderful friendly people. We love the fishing! or should I say 'catching' Our dream is to make it a full time home someday.
Mike or Patti Rhine purchased this House in 2013
Why Mike or Patti Rhine chose Marathon
We just purchased this delightful 2nd home in August of 2013. We looked for a home that was not just private but with the perfect ocean front view as well. Simple yet very comfortable, Hide Away Cove is one you will be sure to return to. Tucked away in a very quiet safe Marathon neighborhood, you can walk or ride your bike to he local markets or restaurants. The beautiful and famous Sombrero Beach is just minutes away. We love the home for the perfect ocean view, never late afternoon sun in our windows, yet a beautiful sunset off to the right. Located in the middle of Marathon Key so you can be at any local destination in just minutes. The perfect location, and the perfect house for the Rhine family!
What makes this House unique
Easy access to activities in just minutes. Beautiful view of The Atlantic ocean Great central location in Marathon
Pool / Spa
Local Services & Businesses
Sports & Adventure Activities
Excellent all around
Great location. Wonderful rebound after Irma. House looks great.
Nice ocean view
We stayed at this house for a week while we explored the keys. It is nicely located for day trips to any of the keys. The ocean view is very nice and makes it feel very private.
The only reason I am giving it only 4 stars is because the third bedroom was locked during our stay so we couldn't use it. We didn't even realize it was a bedroom until we were leaving and the cleaning people noticed it was locked and shouldn't have been. I email Mike and Pattie when we got home about this and received a cordial response, but no compensation. To be fair, I didn't ask for one, but an offer of a small compensation would have been nice.
Paradise in the Florida Keys
My wife Elaine and I have been to the keys several times always staying at resorts. This time we decided to look for a cozy beach front house and honestly can't believe what we found. At the end of 68th st. you will find yourself completely private with a well maintained and appointed house with loungers, your own dock, mangroves on each side of the property. The house has numerous windows with incredible views. The interior is beach style and seems brand new. We can't say enough, the wild life both on land and in the cay amazing. Iguanas, sea birds of all types, horse shoe crabs, little barracuda. Rent a kayak and enjoy the shallow calm water, take your fishing pole, grab some shrimps or fresh ballyhoo and cast to the poles. Hooked several small tarpon, sharks, cudas. Great fun.
Thanks for making this if not the best one of my best trips ever, we hope to come back!!!
If you want to catch 100lb + tarpon call Bahia Honda Tarpon fishing at 239-331-9797, Jeff, Kevin, and all of their guides are top shelf and work hard for your success.

Very nice house with a super view. Very private and secluded at the end of the street. House is nicely furnished with a well appointed kitchen.
The "KEYs" to relaxation are a click away
Mike and Patti... loved the location and the home. Its private and quite expansive. We enjoyed ourselves and this was a much needed vacation and well worth the 1500 mile drive. As you both are aware of her circumstances, its been pretty stressful over the past few years. Your home is easy to navigate and with her disabilities, she was able to get up and join me outside whenever she felt the desire to sit or walk the compound with the assist of "Verne." LOL I enjoyed "my place" overlooking the ocean for my morning coffee and the occasional siesta. The home is well appointed and area very quiet. We will be see you soon enough for the next visit. And special thanks to George/Nancy for their hospitality. Great people and soooo friendly. Semper Fi. George and Glenda
Central Location, Private, Clean, and an abundance of space inside and out!
Our family truly enjoyed our week in Marathon, FL. This home sits in it's own little world with a very private setting and an abundance of space inside and out. Privacy in the Keys can be hard to come by, especially on the ocean. It's also helpful that the home is very close to the grocery stores and many restaurants. Our children spent HOURS trying (and failing!!) to capture the little lizards and we spent lots of time relaxing in front of the ocean. The pictures really do not do it justice. The inside of the home is spacious and there's plenty of entertaining room and a large kitchen. Note: in order to get to one of the bedrooms you have to walk through another bedroom. It wasn't any problem for us but if you had a family member that required more privacy, that would be something to note. Our children are 8 and 6 and we have vacationed in Marathon three years in a row. This was our first stay at this home and we would definitely come back. Family activities in the Keys we enjoy: exploring the state parks; in particular, Bai Honda (lovely beach area) and Long Key (great for exploring), and Curry Hammock is nice and small. Sombrero Beach has huge play equipment and a beautiful beach. The Dolphin Research Center is quaint and wonderful and informative as is the Turtle Hospital. In Islamorada, Theater of the Sea is another great day trip. Restaurants we eat at over and over are Herbies, Seven Mile Grill, Castaways, Tarpon Creek, and Burdines.
Our home is located at the very end of a short quiet residential road. Very private and quiet. Hop on a bike and ride to many places in town. Very centrally located, restaurants, beaches, shopping all within bicycle distance. Bicycles can be rented for 10.00 per day, at many local shops.
