We visited Glen Ellen to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. This home is beautiful! Very new and modern and super cozy! You truly feel like you are on vacation in this home! Great views from the back deck and several places within and outside the home to relax and just hang out. The owner, Melissa, was super helpful and attentive when we briefly needed her! Also she provided great assistance with information on the local area. Melissa and her husband have thought of EVERYTHING that you could need in a vacation home, all the way down to having a phone cord station and a spare deck of cards! The house is fully stocked and we wanted for nothing! We would definitely stay at this home again in the future!
This house has everything the owner has mentioned. It has a well stalked kitchen, we loved the car-charger, bedrooms were clean, backyard serene. Would definitely go back. Thanks Melissa and Paul for being such wonderful hosts!
Beautifully Equipped with Great Views
This is a beautiful residence with superb fixtures and fittings especially in the bathrooms and also a lovely lounge area with a modern plasma TV plus surround sound system which is fantastic to use. Communications with Melissa were outstanding as she responded virtually immediately to any query we had. The only downside we had is that there was building work going on in an adjacent property at the time we were there but this is obviously short-term and shouldn’t bother future guests. Fully deserves a five star rating!
Deck gave child second degree burns
Immediately upon arrival, our child walked out onto the deck without shoes and got severe second degree burns all over the bottom of her feet. The deck is made of a synthetic material that got far hotter than a deck typically does. We ended up at the ER and having to go back to the hospital each day to redress the wounds (we wanted to leave the property and not stay, but had to for a function). She isn’t allowed to walk for at least 7 days which clearly ruined the trip.
Aside from that, the house is nearly exactly as pictured. Though I was quite disappointed by the yard. We rented the house since we thought it would be fun to have a yard for the kids to run around in. There is no lawn, as pictured, and it is a bulldozed dirt lot (not that we could have used the yard anyway after the but....)
We are truly saddened about what happened. In over five years renting out our home and 99 five-star reviews, nothing like this has ever happened.
The deck is TREX Composite, about 6 years old, which is the material used in most new home decking construction in the area. As we state in our welcome letter, the surface can be hot in extremely warm weather. We will send an additional warning to future guests who visit us in hot weather to recommend that they wear shoes at all times while they are outside.
We apologize that our back yard was not as expected. Our fencing and retaining walls burned, as well over 30 of our neighbors’ homes, in the fires of 2017. We’ve fully restored our front landscaping and fencing. We just re-graded the back yard to avoid potential flooding of the recently rebuilt home next door and we’re in the process of replanting it. It will beautiful again this Fall.
Amazing house and location
The house had everything. Great kitchen. Games eg pool, ping pong. Garden. Looking at the stars on the back deck was magical.
Awesome wine country experience!
Amazing house with everything you need and more. Can't wait to come back!
