My husband and I are ocean lovers and live for fishing and diving whenever we can. It has always been our dream to have our own oceanfront property on Vancouver Island where we can escape to with our kids and family and enjoy doing the things we love!
We have enjoyed this property for the last several years since our kids were little and just had to own it. My husband spent many summers as a kid himself with his family in the rustic cabins next to our resort and had so many fond memories. After the first year we stayed here we knew we just found our hidden gem and wanted to provide a gathering place for our family for years to come!
We fell in love with this place because it has everything we dreamed of. Breathtaking panoramic oceanfront views where you can watch the sun rise and the ocean come to life every morning, a dock to moor our fishing boat, a gorgeous heated outdoor pool and hot tub for the kids to enjoy, a calm bay for kayaking, hordes of tidal pools to explore, fresh seafood right from the dock, tennis courts, massive green spaces and playground for the kids, ocean-side fire pit in the evening... the condo is 2 bedroom and is the top far end unit so it is the most private of all the units with the best unobstructed views nestled among the trees ... there is plenty of room to share our vacation with guests. To top it all off the resort is off the beaten path so it is quiet and safe for our family... feels like you are at a resort on your own island yet it is only 16 minute drive to the airport or 29 minutes to the ferries. Diving, golfing, museums, restaurants, shopping, wildlife tours, farmers markets, and more... are all a short drive away. We feel like it can't get any better and that we are the luckiest family to have a premium property where we feel is God's best kept secret.
We enjoyed the condo as we were there two years ago with our grandchildren and again this time. The tennis court, playground, ring toss and badminton and the swimming pool kept the grandkids busy every day. The condo was supplied with everything we needed. Just had to supply food. We have told friends about the condo and are thinking about it for their next vacation. In Ladysmith their is a bakery that has great cinnamon buns and Roberts Pizza is very good. The condo was very clean and maintained.
We love the Inn of the Sea and this condo was wonderful with oceanfront view. The kitchen was well stocked, everything you would need and more. We stayed a week with our 3 grandchildren and they absolutely loved it here. We spent many hours every day in the pool and the kids enjoyed the tennis court. We found it very relaxing and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The beach is great for beach combing which the kids loved to explore. The condo was very clean and lots of room for everyone. We will definitely return. I would highly recommend this condo to my friends and family.
We very much enjoyed the condo. It was clean, bright and well equipped. The complex is very well kept too. We spent the majority of the time on the balcony soaking up the fabulous view. The pool, hot tub and BBQ was a treat to use. Angela is extremely helpful and very quick to answer any questions. Definitely love to return soon for a longer time.
We had wonderful days in the apartment and used our time to vistit Tofino, Campbell River, Strathcona Provincial Park, Victoria and all the other beautiful places. Between our trips we enjoyed the calm and relaxed atmosphere in Yellow Point. We will come back for sure.
The condo is beautiful with every amenity you could possibly need. The view is unbeatable...we spent a day just relaxing on the comfortable couch, staring out the large sliding glass door windows at the gorgeous seaside and mountain views! Kitchen is well-stocked with cooking tools but there's also many near-by restaurants with fresh ingredients and lovely food/people.
It was our first time to Vancouver Island and we will definitely be back and will definitely stay here again!
We three women enjoyed our escape from the routine at this refreshing waterfront retreat!
The Inn of the Sea resort was a lovely home away from home, with everything we needed. The layout of the suite was perfect for our group with the sliding doors opening out to the seaside. We soaked in the view, filled our lungs with the ocean air, and ambled down the beachfront in the spirit of true beachcombers. We even did a ‘sox and shoes off’ mini detox in a tidal pool - the ocean water and white sand re-energizing us from the bottom up.
With its central location it proved to be a great base camp, perfect for making plans for the day over our homemade breakfast. In Downtown Nanaimo, the home of Asteras Restaurant, a lovely Greek tavern – we enjoyed the best lamb lunch. On another junket and despite the drizzle, we were entertained by browsing the shops in Downtown Duncan, which were full of handmade and local items. We made a ‘must stop’ on our way home at Russell Farm Market for more gifts and local organics, and then a short jaunt home just in time for the dinner special at our favorite and very nearby pub, the Crow & Gate. Yum!
And even when the Rainforest weather descended on the weekend, the suite was the perfect place to bundle up fireside with cozy blankets provided, to read while enjoying the patter of the rain providing further relaxation to our already idyllic retreat.
We are looking forward to the possibility of making it an annual event!
