The place was perfect for our family getaway! We really enjoyed the light refreshing colors of the home. Everything was clean and the deck offered a wonderful veiw of the lake. It was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed the dock and the location of the home being close the the quaint little town of Alden and a market just down the road as well. Definitely would recommend to others. Also the manager of the home was easy to contact for questions which always means a lot.

Beautiful Home/Lake

  • 4 of 5

As we all know the Torch Lake is beautiful. And this home is as well. We enjoyed our stay there but unfortunately we were disappointed to find no beach. It's just grass and then a 4 foot "cliff" down to the water. That made things a bit tricky with (2) two year olds.

Wonderful Torch Lake location

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this property for one week, and it was a wonderful choice. The house is updated and fit 7 of us comfortably. It had both central A/C and room heaters for the lower level, which was nice since the days got quite warm and the nights got cool. There are beautiful views both from the back deck and the area closer to the lake. It's about 200 yards from the house to the lake, which was great for our dog, so she had lots of room to run around. I didn't realize the property didn't have a beach, which wasn't a big deal, since we could enter the lake off the dock. However, people with smaller children might find this to be a drawback.

We had a few minor maintenance issues, which were handled right away. The property manager was very responsive. My only criticism was that the kitchen could have used more baking sheets and casserole dishes, and the knives were extremely dull. This seems to be a common occurrence at rental properties. However, there were plenty of dishes, cups, cutlery, and I liked that they provided paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher pellets) as well as all linens. That was great.

The property is located about 1/2 mile south of Alden, which was great for souvenir shopping and their farmer's market.

My family really enjoyed our time there.

Lovely setting on beautiful Torch Lake in a nicely updated place, great for extended family

  • 5 of 5

-Great location on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world

-Great property manager, nice to deal with and really cares. The more I rent, the more I appreciate a well run property.

-Nicely updated décor and furniture. Feels clean and new.

-plenty of space for a couple, their two year old, grandparents and a dog.

-kitchen was great and worked well. Newer appliances and a refrigerator that really worked. Sometimes this isn't as good in rentals

-Love the large deck and deck furniture in great shape

-Overall nice, nice place.

-Pontoon rental delivered to us was so nice

-Boat had to be tied up to a buoy, so someone had to walk and pull the boat from the dock after unloading out to where the buoy is. Not bad in nice weather when the water is warm, but not so nice in less favorable circumstances. No boat lifter by the dock.

Nice place

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our week, cottage is newly updated and comfortable. The deck is huge and shaded from trees so we spent a lot of time out there. The only drawback was that we could not tie up to the dock and it became difficult to manage our mooring boats when the storms rolled in. We did notice that no boats were secured to docks around there, they were all on dry docks so typical for this part of the lake.
