About Suzan fisk

Stephen was brought up in the Oneonta, NY area. He was employed for 20+ years by the D&H Railroad, then CP Rail. He is now a rail executive with Fingerlakes Rail and a rail consultant.

Suzan fisk purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Suzan fisk chose Capital Saratoga

I spent every summer here at Efner Lake. My parents purchased our cabin when I was a child. Our cabin is our summer home. Stephen & I purchased the new property as an investment.

What makes this cabin unique

This property offers a quiet, beautiful place to relax and enjoy Adirondacks. It's the best of both worlds: Varied activities within a 30 minute or less drive, but you return to the peace, the incredible air and water of the cabin site.

The cabin itself has been described by previous guests as 'Adirondack chic'. The knotty pine paneling decorated with original paintings is cozy. There is plenty of space, both inside and outside for gathering the family or group together or going your own way for a walk, a swim, a nap or whatever makes you relaxed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at The Little Camp! Everything we needed to cook a huge feast and such a comfortable place to enjoy cold weather and woods. Our two dogs LOVED their stay too!

Thank you!

Pleasant environment, well equipped kitchen. Upstairs bedroom too small for average size, 55+ couple. We hit our heads on the low eave several times; only 1 night table and one reading lamp. When we stripped the bed, we discivered blood on the mattress cover from a previous gues. Sue and Steve are helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the firepit and lake.

Perfect Location, perfect setup, right on the Lake!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for having everything set up for us, couldn't have had asked for anything more. Perfect location, with instant access to the lake. I wish we would've stayed longer! The lake was the perfect size, crystal clear, warm and having are own kayaks, floats and canoe was perfect for us to be able to explore! My son enjoyed the beach and toys you already had set up, he didn't want to leave, lol. My dad and uncles pets enjoyed running and exploring the property. We were surprised by the firework show, what a splendid treat. It was a perfect location right in-between Lake George and Saratoga Springs. The cabin was the perfect size; all 8 of us slept comfortably; my brother had a blow up mattress and used it in the game room. Thank you again, we will highly recommend your vacation rental for all of our friends and hope to return soon! :-)

A wonderful family summer getaway

  • 4 of 5

Upon arrival Susan greeted us with every amenity imaginable as well as fresh baked goods to kick off our stay. My two little girls spent 90% of their days playing in the sand on the beach. It was a great place to bring our Golden Retriever, who ended up sleeping the entire 4 hour trip back home because of all the excitement he had. The house was in great condition and the only things we needed to bring was our clothes and groceries. We had a camp fire every night and enjoyed the use of the kayak's and row boat around the lake. Hearing the Loons on the lake each morning was amazing. I look forward to coming back real soon.

Super comfortable. Every possible convenience. Great Lake swimming. Lovely helpful owners.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is very comfortable with every possible convenience, both outdoors and inside. Ceiling fans are everywhere so even though we had a few unusually hot days, we were never uncomfortable. We loved the lake, with a little float to swim to and kayaks and a rowboat provided. Even our 7-month-old grandchild paddled in a little floating boat provided by the owners. This is a great vacation place!

Very enjoyable stay

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at "little camp". We are frequent Adirondack vacationers and this summer was one of our best. The house met all our expectations, with all the amenities you could possibly need/want. The owners were very friendly and hospitable people. I highly recommend this lovely spot, especially if you have small children.

'The Little Camp' is located on a small, private lake. There is no public access to the lake; only owners and guests. There are only 25 - 30 cabins on the entire lake. Here guests will enjoy privacy and seclusion with few neighbors nearby. Within a 20 minute drive guests will find a wide range of activities for all ages. Six Flags Great Escape is 25 minutes away as are several water parks, white water rafting, miniature golf courses, para sailing and various speed water sports on Lake George.

Outlet shopping is fantastic with a grouping of several outlet and factory store plazas in the 'Million Dollar Half Mile'.

Visitors interested in history might enjoy The Adirondack Museum at Blue Mt. Lake (about 45 minutes), Fort Ticonderoga or Fort William Henry.

The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls is a gem for art lovers. The Hyde House, it's architecture and the art collection housed within is absolutely a must see. Rembrandt, Picasso, Eakins and Ingres to name a few of the masters hanging at The Hyde. Rotating exhibitions have included Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keefe in recent years. Children's activities in the art studio are coordinated with museum exhibitions. Docent guided tours available.

In the Saratoga Springs area guests can enjoy thoroughbred racing and the Racino. The Saratoga Performing Arts Center is the summer home of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the NYC Ballet as well as The Freihofer Jazz Festival and rock concerts. Traditionally, people came to the Saratoga area for the health benefits of the mineral waters which can still be sampled at various well springs throughout the National Park and in town. Shopping in the charming Victorian Saratoga downtown with it's eclectic boutiques guests can find unusual and one of a kind items. Relax in Congress Park or take a ride on the antique carousel. Explore Saratoga Battlefield for some history. The National Car Museum is a visit to vehicles of the past. The National Museum of Dance is beautiful and interesting. Dining in Saratoga Springs is excellent. From fine dining to BBQ, Saratoga offers foodies a wide range of culinary experiences.

From the Glens Falls area to Saratoga golf courses abound.

In the winter ski areas include West Mt. which also has sliding, Gore and the trails at Killington, Vt.
