About Joyce Klees
I fell in love with the north shore when I moved here in my twenties. The landscape, definitely harsh at times, with it's seasonal drama and beauty continues to grip me and hold me in awe. I love to travel, but I continue to call this place home. Presently my work is as an RN at the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic in Grand Marais. Hopefully you will not need to visit here, but if you do you will realize why we feel so lucky to have this Community Health Clinic as our health care facility. I am also known for my landscape work and ceramic art. A work of note is the Angry Trout Bathroom. Enjoy a yummy meal and then take a side trip to the bathroom to check out my work. I also have an adventurous side and have put in many miles on the trails and waterways of this area as well as elsewhere.
Joyce Klees purchased this House in 2012
Why Joyce Klees chose Grand Marais
A beautiful house with a stunning interior: richly painted walls and lot's of art , property that is centrally located and accessible. This is a winner! I instantly felt at home here and I hope you will too.
What makes this House unique
Aesthetically pleasing with it's rich colors, high ceilings, many windows, and modern clean design. The kitchen offers an enjoyable cooking space and the open floor plan makes entertaining easy. The claw foot bathtub is a place to relax and soak. This house with it's many windows and views offers a range of places to sit and read.

Fuel for the soul
This is our second time staying at this property and I cannot wait to come again. The house is beautiful and wonderfully maintained! The distance to Grand Marais is perfect. We use this time to connect as a family, enjoy the nature around us, throw rocks in the water, and relax. We are often bad about the relaxing part as there is so much to explore in so little time but this home really allows us to find our zen!
Kate, thank you for the review. I am so glad that you and your family were able to find some zen time at my place! : ) I know what you mean, even as a resident, there is so much to explore that it is often hard to stop and relax. I look forward to another stay for you and your family! Best, Joyce
This property was excellent! Spacious, inviting, bright, well-stocked (the kitchen was awesome!), clean, quality artwork, great location, I could go on....The one thing I thought I'd miss when booking this place was being directly on the water, but the location was so close to many awesome beaches and state parks, I didn't even think about it during the trip! Our stay here was absolutely delightful and I would book this place again in a heartbeat. Thanks for sharing your space, Joyce!
Hi Drew and family, thank you for your review. I am so glad you had a wonderful stay and that my home worked so well for your time on the shore!
It does feel like an oasis and like you said, it is so close to many wonderful adventures.
Best to you and I hope you can come back for more "delightful" stays!
We have stayed here several times and it gets better every year
glad to have you back!
Sounds like you had some great adventures and a wonderful time relaxing.
Certainly making the best of your time here with each other.
Lovely stay. The photos don’t do the house justice. Just beautiful and comfortable. Total silence at night, even with windows open.
Allison, so glad that my place offered the space you had hoped for, that quiet and pleasing space to share with friends. It is a magical place! Best to you and your friends.
Home was just perfect for us. Convenient location with easy access to Grand Marais and state parks along the North Shore.
Thanks Rose, I am glad that my place worked so well for you!|
We had such a relaxing, enjoyable time! Joyce's home was even better than we expected! We were surprised with how bright and spacious it was! There was plenty of comfortable seating for our family of six, the kitchen had everything we needed for meal preparations (and charcoal grill outside), and there were lots of interesting books, games, and even a frisbee and well-maintained yard to keep us all active and entertained. We loved sitting on the deck and front porch, listening to the birds and enjoying the sunshine and fresh breeze. The home was very nice, very clean and well cared for. Fabulous place, Joyce! Thank you!
Sounds like you had a blast here! : )
Thank you for your compliments and review. I hope you can come back for another family gathering!
