Slightly north of the College of Charleston on historic St. Philip Street this charming cottage is the perfect base to enjoy an enchanting Charleston experience. Charleston is like Rome Italy in that most of notable monuments and historic details are found in a fairly confined area. You can literally walk from the Cottage to the southernmost extremes of the Historic District in under thirty minutes. This journey will take you through the Historic King Street District, and the neighborhoods of Cannonborough, Elliottborough , Radcliffborough, Harleston Village, and finally South of Broad, until you reach the Battery itself. Go east one block and you are on King Street, the home of designer shops, eclectic boutiques, antique stores, and host of other fascinating shops as well as nationally acclaimed restaurants. Upper King is the new center of Charleston’s renowned restaurant and night life. A recent survey of the “Essential 18 Charleston Restaurants” has seven of these restaurants (Hominey Grill, Indaco, The Grocery, The Macintosh, The Ordinary, Two Boroughs Larder, , Xiao Bao Biscuit) within four blocks of the cottage.
The cottage is a three bedroom sand-alone home, set back from the street with two off street parking spaces. It is perfect for a family or friends traveling together. A spacious living room furnished with comfortable chairs, sofa, HDTV ,bar, and antique writing desk provide a nice area for entertaining and socializing with fellow guests. A full size, well equipped kitchen with adjoining dining area with seating for six connects to the living room. Each of the three bedrooms have queen size beds, chest of drawers, bedside lighting and at least one chair or sofa. There are two double closets in two of the bedrooms, and a single double closet in the third. A chest of drawers is conveniently placed in one closet in each bedroom providing fabulous storage and easy organization of your personal clothing and suitcases, etc. . The two bathrooms are convenient to the three bedrooms: one is equipped with a tub and shower combination while other has a shower only. The baths have ample storage for your personal effects. High quality linens and towels are provided.
You do not need to have automobile to enjoy Charleston while staying in the Cottage. The city operates a free tourist shuttle bus services should you decide to ride and the closest stop is only about a minute away. However, as mentioned above, two off street are included with the cottage.
Electronic equipment includes WiFi internet connection, wireless printer, cable HDTV, coffee maker, micro wave, hair dryer, toaster oven, iron with ironing board, washer and dryer.
A small outside garden area has been arranged for your enjoyment. A gas grill along with a dining table, umbrella, and six comfortable chairs are provided.
The owner fell in love with Charleston as a college student to teach children to sail and never left.

This property features the best of Charleston. It offers the privacy of a stand alone property but is a manageable and comfortable size which is unusual in the midst of historic Charleston. Parking spot directly in driveway in front of Cottage.
This charming cottage is nestled among historic award winning properties whilst offering one-story modern convenience and comfort. Large kitchen is fully equipped with microwave and coffee maker. It is professionally decorated, attractive and charming with a mix of antiques and carefully selected objects in the Charleston tradition. There is off-street parking for tow to three cars.
Fantastic trip, great courtyard to sit and watch the world go by! It was loved by all and especially the dogs. Great neighborhood to walk around with tons of eateries and watering holes. We will be back.
Any group of 4-6 people visiting Charleston would be wise to rent this property. We did and it was wonderful. Three super nice bedrooms and the common areas were so comfortable. They provided plenty of room, but were intimate enough to encourage bonding. The enclosed patio,complete with gas grill, is a real bonus. The location absolutely could not be better. Walking distance to almost everything. Even the free scuttle buses were steps away. We are already planning another trip to the Saint Philip Cottage for the not too distant future.
Very cozy and quaint. A little tight for a group of six adults. Jamie the property manager was prompt and attentive to our every need.

In the heart of Upper King Street with all the newly developed restaurants and attractions, you are only a few blocks from the College of Charleston and MUSC. Within walking distance to most attractions on the Peninsula. Driving or a quick taxi ride to beaches, and outlet shopping.
