3 Bedroom, 2 Bath One-Storey Cottage In The Heart Of Upper King Street/dwtn
Slightly north of the College of Charleston on historic St. Philip Street this charming cottage is the perfect base to enjoy an enchanting Charleston experience. Charleston is like Rome Italy in that most of notable monuments and historic details are found in a fairly confined area. You can literally walk from the Cottage to the southernmost extremes of the Historic District in under thirty minutes. This journey will take you through the Historic King Street District, and the neighborhoods of Cannonborough, Elliottborough , Radcliffborough, Harleston Village, and finally South of Broad, until you reach the Battery itself. Go east one block and you are on King Street, the home of designer shops, eclectic boutiques, antique stores, and host of other fascinating shops as well as nationally acclaimed restaurants. Upper King is the new center of Charleston’s renowned restaurant and night life. A recent survey of the “Essential 18 Charleston Restaurants” has seven of these restaurants (Hominey Grill, Indaco, The Grocery, The Macintosh, The Ordinary, Two Boroughs Larder, , Xiao Bao Biscuit) within four blocks of the cottage.
The cottage is a three bedroom sand-alone home, set back from the street with two off street parking spaces. It is perfect for a family or friends traveling together. A spacious living room furnished with comfortable chairs, sofa, HDTV ,bar, and antique writing desk provide a nice area for entertaining and socializing with fellow guests. A full size, well equipped kitchen with adjoining dining area with seating for six connects to the living room. Each of the three bedrooms have queen size beds, chest of drawers, bedside lighting and at least one chair or sofa. There are two double closets in two of the bedrooms, and a single double closet in the third. A chest of drawers is conveniently placed in one closet in each bedroom providing fabulous storage and easy organization of your personal clothing and suitcases, etc. . The two bathrooms are convenient to the three bedrooms: one is equipped with a tub and shower combination while other has a shower only. The baths have ample storage for your personal effects. High quality linens and towels are provided.
You do not need to have automobile to enjoy Charleston while staying in the Cottage. The city operates a free tourist shuttle bus services should you decide to ride and the closest stop is only about a minute away. However, as mentioned above, two off street are included with the cottage.
Electronic equipment includes WiFi internet connection, wireless printer, cable HDTV, coffee maker, micro wave, hair dryer, toaster oven, iron with ironing board, washer and dryer.
A small outside garden area has been arranged for your enjoyment. A gas grill along with a dining table, umbrella, and six comfortable chairs are provided.
Please remember that when booking now or making payment we prefer "e"check as it is free for you and us to use. If you choose the credit card option then VRBO/HomeAway charges 2.9% on all monies run through Credit and that fee will be taken from your security deposit before return of the security deposit as we do offer a free option. That is the only reason we prefer "e"check as it is totally free and the way our account has been set up for years and us nor any of our tenants have had problems with the system as it is an extremely secure payment method. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Thank you, Jamie

Perfect location and hosue
We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed this house. 4 adults and 2 kids had plenty of space here. Location was perfect - one block from the main street but still quiet. Although we had a car and there was a parking spot attached to the house, we walked everywhere. The house was very clean, updated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owner provided easy instructions on check-in and out. The front courtyard was wonderful too for coffee in the mornings. Would definitely stay here again!
We(5 of us) had an absolutely great time in Charleston at this spot. It's walkable for downtown and the porch made for some great conversation. I would definitely rent this place again!
Good value and location
Jamie, the property manager, was VERY accommodating, super-efficient and pleasant - really great to deal with. We had a fine time in the cottage: The outdoor space is a brick patio in front which was lovely - great to hangout for breakfast, cocktails, conversations. Good parking right in front of the house and one door down the street. The cottage is outfitted well with everything one needs in the kitchen, lots of towels, good TV, DVR, etc. Good wifi. Good location near King Street, The Hominy Grill, lots of juice bars, small interesting shops, etc and out of the overwhelming tourist hubbub. The only complaints were that the mattress in one of the back bedrooms was too firm and that the patio was sometimes noisy but hey, it's a tourist city so that's to be expected. We would definitely come back.
Thank you so much for the kind remarks. We hate that your bed was not to your satisfaction. Beds are difficult to try and figure out as some like soft and some prefer the firmer support. We have had people call to get the name brands as they loved them, but I do understand when you are use to a softer mattress that a firmer support can be uncomfortable. If you come back, let me know as the front bedroom mattress is a softer mattress and we can help make sure it is set up for you. We enjoyed having you and look forward to a return visit. Jamie
Very comfortable, great location
Three adults and one small dog had ample room. Neat ,clean. though not in the heart of historic district there was good bus transportation and not too far of a walk for us elderly ladies. Wonderful Restaurant options within very short walking distance.
Great location, house and communication
Jamie's house is super nice: we enjoyed the upper King St and surrounding area most for the restaurants, bakeries, etc. We were a group of three couples and we liked the .8 mile walk to the more 'touristy' areas followed by relaxing on the courtyard and in the living room.
Thanks for the responsiveness with communication and with allowing our lucky friends to check in early and out late, too!
A small piece of heaven in a big world
We rented this sweet little place to stay in for our daughter's wedding. Not one of the four of us who stayed here had one complaint. We also had two small yorkies with us and it was perfect for them as well. Everything was clean, plenty of towels, the kitchen had everything we needed, all of the beds were comfortable and it was very quiet. Our favorite was the patio with the table, umbrella, and six chairs. It was a great place to unwind after the busy days. Very close walking to lots of restaurants. Shopping and historical areas were a little farther walk but nothing that was unmanageable. Thank you so much for making our stay in Charleston so wonderful. We absolutely recommend this wonderful unit and will be staying here again.
In the heart of Upper King Street with all the newly developed restaurants and attractions, you are only a few blocks from the College of Charleston and MUSC. Within walking distance to most attractions on the Peninsula. Driving or a quick taxi ride to beaches, and outlet shopping.
