When we first laid our eyes on this property we fell in love. We have searched in many countries to find our perfect vacation home. This property is so unique and we have never seen anything like it before.
The main house is a one bedroom two bath home with a one bedroom one bath casita by the pool. The one acre property has very large beautiful trees that provide much shade. We have planted pineapple, lemon, sugar cane, mango, apple and banana trees.
Many people have described the property as magical.
It was featured on House Hunters International in December 2013.
For the last few years we have improving the property. We have added a 16x23 foot covered palapa next to the house to give a large outdoor living area. We have remodeled the down stairs bathroom, redone the floors in the whole house and put new counter tops, sink and cabnits in the kitchen. The whole house has been repainted.
This home is hand formed concrete with curved walls and artful carved wood doors and windows. It is a home that inspires creativity. It is a perfect place for writers, singers and artists or anyone that wants to relax, unwind and get back in touch with their inner child.
The upstairs has one bedroom and one bath with two balconies, one overlooking the grounds and pool and the rear one overlooking the jungle. The downstairs has one bath, kitchen and living room with flat screen TV and internet. The kitchen most people would call 'cute.' It is comfortable with all the appliances you would need in a vacation home.
We have recently finished a 16' by 24' covered Palapa next to the house which adds a large outdoor living area.
The property itself is over an acre with very large trees towering over the pool. There is a grand stairway leading up from the pool to a 700 square foot party patio.
Next to the pool is a casita with one bedroom, one bath and living room.
The town of Ojochal is a quiet friendly town near the beaches on the south pacific coast. The jungle in this area goes right down to the beaches. We have spent many hours strolling down the sand watching the monkeys in the trees and seeing the Macaws flying overhead. The nearest beach from our property is only 5 minutes away and you can get to 6 different beaches within 30 minutes.
Ojochal is also know for its great restaurants. We can say we have never had a bad in any restaurant here.
We are only 20 minutes away from the Whales Tale which is a big tourist attraction and an hour away from Manual Antonio National Park.
We would also consider a long term rental. Contact us for details.

This is a very unique property. Many people say it looks like a Hobbit House or a story book house from a fairytale. It is a great house if you like artistic or creative place to relax. It has beautiful landscapes in all directions. From flowers to beautiful trees it is a wonderful place to lay in a hammock and let the stress of the world blow away.
The house is very unique. It is close to town but very private. Just minutes away from many great restaurants and you can drive to 6 different beaches within 20 minutes. It is a great romantic quiet get away.
Recently I had agreed to rent this home long term. Within 24 hrs of arriving there was an electrical fire in the house due to poor wiring throughout. Although no major damage occurred to the house, my personal items had soot and smoke damage, my electronics were rendered useless, and there was soot all over the master bedroom. I wasn't in the house at the time of the fire, however my dog was. When I told the owners about the incident, the response was thank goodness our house is made of concrete. No empathy or concern as to wether or not my dog was ok (which other then being covered in soot, he seemed fine). I spent hours of my own time cleaning and hired someone to clean up the melted fan which caused the fire. The following evening the master bedroom and the casita (2nd bedroom) started leaking. The casita was so bad we couldn't even put things in there because they were getting soaked. I moved the master bed enough so it wouldn't rain on top of me. In short...I explained to the owners that I signed up to rent a 2 bedroom place with storage. I feared because of the electrical issues, there could be another fire and explained my concerns to them as well as that my 14 yr old daughter was sleeping with me because her bedroom was wet and she was scared too. I explained to them I needed to move because this was not what I had signed up for. I asked for half of my deposit back because I was only there for 1 week and I thought it fair that we split it. I lost a $1500 laptop, electronic cords, a set of very expensive sheets, plus time and money spent to clean, all as a result of the fire. They were unwilling to do so. I think this house has amazing potential if fixed properly. I'm writing this not to make anyone look bad, but to make potential renters aware of the issues. This is Costa Rica and it rains....sometimes a LOT! Renters beware...
