Our names are Joshua & Rachel. We live in and love the community where the cottage is located. We have been searching high and low for a property on the water that we can love and appreciate and share with others.
We have experienced the joy and peace of renting waterfront properties in the past and desired to be able to share that experience with others.
We have a beautiful family of 4 boys, 2 dogs and 1 cat.
Joshua Czyz purchased this cottage in 2013
When we walked onto this property, we knew it was the one. It is quaint and pleasant from the front ... but that is very deceiving. Upon entering the front door, with immediate views out the back windows, you realize that you are somewhere special. It is truly like taking a short drive and a few steps into a whole new world of peace and serenity.
This cottage has a full kitchen and dining area.
There is high speed internet for the business-person or entertainment/internet buff.
The conveniences of a small city with the serenity of a private waterfront property.
A great cottage! We had a wonderful time. So much to see and do in the Auburn, Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Geneva area! Thanks!
Lovely relaxing retreat. The cottage was immaculate. The well equipped kitchen combined with the grill out back supplied us with everything we needed to make delicious home cooked summer meals. We enjoyed the kayaking on the outlet as well as observing the wild life. We met the owner and his family and they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. This is a great place!!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The main living area/kitchen is a bit small, but the home is modern and clean with two good sized bathrooms. The layout was perfect for our small family (2 children under 2 yrs old). The back porch is great. The rear view of the water is peaceful and the street is quiet. Most of all, I appreciated the great service and responsiveness we got from the owners. Very helpful and easy to deal with. We'll look to rent this space again on future trips home to Auburn.
The location is very central to the Finger Lakes region, you can within an hour hit many of the finger lakes. Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge is a quick drive, Waterloo outlets, Syracuse, and so much more if you actually even want to leave!
Beyond that the cottage is wonderfully done, clean, and set up. The common area in the middle separates the master room from the other room, each with their own bathroom. The back porch just begs to be used as it looks out over the water, and if you want to grab a few sun fish they are all over the place right off the dock. It's in a nice quiet area so you can have a drink and read, play some board games, watch some tv, if you just want to stay in.
The owners really go out out of their way to make sure you feel at home, with little touches like pandora loaded up and ready for your addition of channel picks.
I've rented cottages several times now, and I've never felt more at home.
My wife and I stayed here for our 13th wedding anniversary. We really wanted to stay somewhere quiet and relaxing and this was the perfect place. From the comfortable sleep number bed to the relaxing swing on the back porch this quaint cottage was the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend. Close enough to great restaurants and attractions but far enough away to sit on the back porch and enjoy the view of the water, we loved this little house. We concluded our weekend with a short trip up the river to Owasco lake in the kayaks. Can't wait to stay here again.
In town for a family reunion from Virginia and found this beautiful cottage on the canal to meet all of our needs! The cottage was situated in a great location close to shopping and had lovely access to the water! Surprised and happy to find life jackets and floats as well as many other amenities including soap and condiments so that we didn't have to load up at the grocery store after a long trip. Made sure we just replaced what we used up! Joshua even brought us a fan to use at our request! Had an absolute wonderful time! Hope to visit Auburn again someday!
We were looking for a good place to kayak with our 6 yr old grandson yet have access to a large lake. This place was brand new with all the ammenities. Small but the inside area was extremely well laid out and used. All appliances were new and modern. The owner was great and came as soon as anything was needed. Loved it and you will too.
This beautiful cottage is set in Auburn, known as History's Hometown. It is a small city with big history. There are many attractions within short driving distances.
The cottage is under 2 miles from live theater , the Harriet Tubman Home and the Seward House. Within a short drive are many options for premier Wine Tours in the Finger Lakes Region.
Auburn gives you easy access to much more than the Finger Lakes as well. The cottage is within 30 minutes from Syracuse and Seneca Falls and within 60 minutes from Rochester and Ithaca.
