We are a family run business. Mike takes care of the dirty and really hard work! Margie takes care of the booking process, cleaning, maintaining and updating the house. The kids help rake pine needles and contribute to the toy closet. Margie will be the one you most likely talk to. I always like to meet my guests, give a tour and answer any questions about the house, neighborhood, town and Rocky Mountain National Park.
I've lived in Estes Park for 35 years and enjoy sharing my love and knowledge of the area.
Margie Hauser purchased this house in 2004
Twin Owls House is adjacent to our family home. Our dear friends used to own the house for 20 years before we bought it. We grew very sentimentally attached to this beautiful home. It is truly a historic Estes Park home that has been cared for so graciously. We take extra good care of this charmer and think it sits on one of the best lots in town. Since we live next door it is easy for us to maintain and to be available for our guests should they need anything.
IMMACULATE, QUIET,BRIGHT! This house is in a quiet, residential neighborhood. It's on a large lot with one of the biggest and oldest Ponderosa pine trees in the Estes Valley. There are gorgeous trees, a meadow and nice views of Lumpy Ridge. It's easy to enjoy the outdoors with the front deck, back patio, hammock and comfortable Amish furniture in the yard. There's always wildlife passing through and when indoors, you can see it all with the big picture windows.
This was approximately our eighth stay at the Twin Owls House, and it was fantastic as always.
The house is large and clean, and with the owners living right next door, if anything should go wrong, it is quickly dealt with. The location of the house is nearly perfect for our family. It's tucked into a quiet neighborhood, and yet one can walk to downtown Estes Park in about 15 minutes (and thus avoid having to find a place to park). We see elk wondering through the property almost every day. My wife cannot get enough of the shady hammock.
I give the Twin Owls House my highest possible recommendation.
Our family spent the first week in September here and loved it! The house is just a short walk from downtown, yet the property is very large and private. The home is so spacious and comfortable and the toy closet is fabulous! This is a VRBO that we want to visit again.
We rented twin owl house in May- margin was most helpful prior to us arriving- she gave us loads of information about este park and provided us with up to date weather forecast as well- ensuring that we packed for the anticipated snow! The house was warm, clean and spacious! The kids loved the toys. We loved the place- especially the single level living which meant there was no fear of the kids falling down the stairs- especially for our one year old twins! The property provided easy access to the Rockies which we loved!
A fantastic property a short walk from downtown estes, but far enough away to be quiet and secluded. Elk in the yard daily and a fantastic view of the Twin Owls.Amazingly clean with all the ameneties. We can't wait to get back! Make reservations soon because they fill up quickly, for good reason!
This house turned out to be great for our multi family vacation. It's a lot bigger inside than the pictures show. Big pullout couch was a nice surprise. It's in a secluded, quiet spot in the trees but still a 10 to 15 minute walk to downtown or the grocery store! A big highlight were the 2 bull elk that were eating and sparring/playing out in the front yard one morning! Also saw turkeys and a fox (and a bobcat but in a different part of estes park). Owners are so helpful and nice. Couldn't have asked for a better place.
We've now vacationed in Estes Park 9 summers in a row, and we've stayed at Twin Owls House 7 times. (Didn't find it until our second trip, and waited too long to make the reservation one other time -- won't make that mistake again!) It's become our home away from home and is the perfect getaway -- a roomy, comfortable, clean, fully furnished and equipped home. Gorgeous lot with plenty of outdoor seating. Margie and family are wonderful hosts. Definitely recommend.
