Yosemite West is extremely peaceful and quiet even during the big holiday weekends. You can save lots of money by preparing your own meals in the spacious and fully equipped kitchen while enjoying the sunset on the edge of the wilderness. Note this is a duplex and the owner/groundskeeper lives in the separated (100% firewall) unit below and to the right. Also don't worry about noise, the owners unit is quite soundproofed.

About Bill Russell
After growing up in Wisconsin I finally moved in 1980 to Yosemite to climb the rocks and mountains. In the winter I enjoy skiing the winter snows and when the snow melts into river water I use the same water for kayaking, rafting and fly fishing. I have worked as a rock climbing guide and instructor at the Yosemite Mountaineering School since 1993 and I'm very familiar with all the scenic and recreational opportunities available in and around Yosemite 12 months a year.
Bill Russell purchased this House in 2012
Why Bill Russell chose Yosemite West
7164 Yosemite Park Way is at the end of the road and in a less built-up part of Yosemite West. This insures less noise and traffic.

Arrived the day after the Yosemite Fires started
I gave this 5 stars, however, I can not fully review my stay, since we were evacuated from the area within a few hours of arriving at Bill's beautiful house inside Yosemite NP. The house is beautiful, clean, and has tons of space even though we did not get to enjoy it. I feel horrible for everyone that has been effected by the fires in and around Yosemite NP. The house is only a half hour from the valley, so the location is great. We were given a refund for our stay, and I really hope Bill and has lovely home are not impacted by these fires. Bill was extremely helpful and always answered me with any questions that I had before our stay. I would love to stay here again in the future to re-visit this beautiful home and park. Again, I hope that you are safe, Bill!
Clean, spacious. Enjoyed all the climber stuff around house including featured video
Great place, highly recommended.
Great experience in every way, definitely would return.
Really nice place
Enjoyed our stay and having the room to cook and just relax after long days of hiking and sight seeing. Really liked being about from valley and the short drive back and forth was time to start the unwind. If I was returning to area I would for sure check into if property was available again. Everything was found to be as listed. Great place. William
Great stay, quiet spot, wonderful accomodations
I loved the personal touches of adventure including the huge pine cones and the rock climbing themed movie. Suggest adding wifi as a GREAT amenity or some travel books in the place so more research could be done about the trails and climbing. Otherwise, we had a great stay, found the matching plates and nice glassware to be really nice (felt more like a home) and we luckily had enough parking for our 3 cars. Would visit again.
Great place to stay near Yosemite.
Easy drive into the park, very comfortable house, owner easy to communicate with. Our daughters liked that they had the downstairs to themselves, each with their own bedroom. House was clean and well-stocked. Loved the views of the trees off the deck. Spent most of our time in the park, but loved coming back to the house at night. Large selection of DVD's. Would definitely stay there again.
7164 Yosemite Park Way, Yosemite West is located approximately midway between Yosemite Valley, Wawona and Glacier Point. This gives you easy access not only to the many attractions of the Valley but also the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia, historic Wawona, the beautiful Glacier Point road and last but not least Badger Pass alpine and nordic ski area.
