The waterfront side of the Lazy Lodge has large expansive panoramic windows that take advantage of the beauty of the lake which is a mere 25 feet away. Much of the rustic charm comes from the solid pine board living areas, wood burning fire place and limestone hearth.

I grew up in Traverse City and moved away after college. I found that the only time I truly escaped was when I was up North taking in all of the natural beauty, culture and pace of life. To find a place up North it allows me to spend quality time with my family and the peace we were all seeking.

Our Cottage is has the space to spread out and know that your family is safe and contained within this piece of heaven. Come fall in love with the Lazy Lodge like we have.

You have a 2000 acre all sports lake with a hard sandy bottom and a gradual slope with no drop off (Not all places can say this). You have room for all your water toys and their trailers. Welcome to the Lazy Lodge!
We spent 7 nights at the Lazy Lodge in early August. We had 2 adults, a 12 year old, and 3 kids under 4 with us for the entire week and the lodge was excellent. We had some extra guests visit on a couple of midweek days and it became a little bit tight but the place does cater well for extra....10 was tight but the owners have done with the set up. The house is spacious and has all the main amenities that you would need; we didn't miss the laundry facilities as we planned in advance and didn't want to be doing laundry on vacation anyway.
We chose this place based on the location and it being right on the lake. The lake itself is great for kids and we all loved swimming, kayaking, fishing etc - the water was perfect.
All in all, I highly recommend. We had amazing weather and visited some amazing places in Northern Michigan. As a Scotsman, I didn't think it would be as nice the West coast of my country but Northern Michigan has taken me by surprise!
We had plenty of space and enjoyed how close the cottage is to the lake. Thanks!
Our family - 2 adults and 5 kids - stayed for a week this summer and we had a great time. The lake and water are as described- beautiful and clear. The kids spent hours in the water, and we enjoyed the kayaks that were at the house. Being so close to the water made our stay in Interlochen even more relaxing than usual. The fire pit for s'mores was happily used frequently. The house is comfortable and clean, but it doesn't have a dishwasher or washer/dryer. I thought the house was roomier and brighter than suggested by the photos. If you're looking for a home just yards from a beautiful lake, that is close to all of the local sights- Interlochen, Sleeping Bear, Empire, and Traverse City- this is a wonderful place to stay.
Eloped and the whole small wedding party for here, nice and quiet (in the off season), spacious and right on the water. Bit of a drive to go out anywhere, about 45 to Traverse City, it is near the end of the peninsula. Great, nice owners and overall positive experience.
Our family stayed for a week this summer at the lazy lodge cottage. We truly enjoyed every day, the water was beautiful, the views amazing and it was wonderful to be close to our family who also lives on the peninsula. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies necessary to cook each day and the grill and bonfire pit were great too. This cottage was cozy, clean, roomy and comfortable for our family. Thank you and we would love to stay again sometime!
We had a great week with great weather. The Interlochen music camp was nice to see again. I went to this camp in 1964, so I had memories from then and made more with my family. It sure has changed in 50 years. Traverse City was wonderful to tour and the wine trail was nice also. Lots to do in upper Michigan. The rental was clean and had everything that we needed. The only thing that would have made it a bit better would be to have some air conditioning. It got a bit hot at night to sleep but there were fans that helped. We would recommend this property to our family and friends. Thanks, Vaughn and Diana
