Electric fans in all rooms, and additionally, aircon in the lounge.

This property has large (42sq m=420sq feet) roof terrace (solarium) and benefits from South facing terrace in front and a balcony backing onto open fields. There are two large communal pools within the secure gated complex. A short walk to the world famous beach of Mar Menor (Minor Sea) so called because it is an inland sea-lake separated from the Mediterranean Sea by the La Manga Strip.

The property is ideally located for Mar Menor Beach, community swimming pools, the Supermarkets, shops, Restaurants, Banks and Clubs.

We have changed all the bed mattresses with 10" (25 cm) thick high quality mattresses.

It is also on the national highway, motorway AP7 and the bus route.

A car will not be necessary but there are a number of car hire companies at the airport and in the area should you want one.

The Kitchen is fully fitted and equipped. It has electric hob and oven, washing machine, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery etc.

Golfing:: Los Alcázares is ideally placed for golf breaks. Please contact us for more details of golf courses in the area.

Supermarkets: There are 5 big supermarkets within 1 mile radius. Mercadona is the nearest, approx. 5 minutes walk from the property. Consum and Lidl are the next about 6 minutes walk. These three markets don't open on Sundays. El Arbor is about 10 minutes walk and Maxi Dia% is about 12-15 minutes walk. Both of them also open on Sundays upto 14:00 & 14:30 respectively.

About Paul Gupta

I am a retired Subpostmaster. I was born in India where I qulified as a Civil Engineer. I worked in Iraq from 1958 to 1964 as a Civil Engineer and in UK from 1964 to 1981. We have lived in UK since 1964.

We have 3 well qualified and happily married children. They all live within 25 miles radius of London.

I bought this apartment jointly with our daughter Dr P Gupta who was born in UK and qualified as a doctor from University College London. My wife and I live in Essex while our daughter lives in Surrey. She is married and have 2 children.

Why Paul Gupta chose Cartagena - Mar Menor

We bought our 1st Spanish apartment in Villamartin, Alicante in 2003 after my retirement from my business. But, it was a wrong choice of the area as the sea was not within the walking distance nor there was any bus service. Luckily we sold that property within 2 months of purchase and returned to UK.

We then returned to Spain again and bought this property. We fell in love with the area of Mar Menor or Minor Sea. The several kilometre long prominade is ideal for walks and the beach is excellent and children friendly.

We use this apartment several times a year. The 5 supermarkets, several restaurants and banks etc fulfill all our needs.

Our penthouse apartment has a patio that has sun all day along, a balcony to cool and a large roof terrace/solarium with sunbeds. We have a shower and a pull over shade on the roof terrace should it get too hot.

What makes this apartment unique

The 3 terraces (sunny patio, the cooling balcony and the roof solarium) plus the beautiful layout of the rooms and 2 WCs was enough to tempt us in buying this apartment. But, additionally, its location of within 2 miles of the San Javier Airport, The Square incorporating restaurants, banks, supermarkets and the long promenade along the Mar Menor was irresistible. We wouldn't have found a better location for our dream apartment.

But, ofcourse, there are also 2 shared community swimming pools within the secure gated complex. And, nearby there are golf courses for the enthusiast golfers.

The historic city of Cartagena is only 15 minutes drive away. But, when we are in mood to just relax we do not need to hire a car at all. Everything in within walking distance.

Hi Paul,

Had a brilliant time in Los A lcazares. This is our second year at your apartment and couldn't fault it.

It is well looked after and all the little extras like the pictures on the wall, the flowers, music system, lcd tv, dvd etc. Even the lighted mirror units in the bathrooms made a difference to the girls. In the kitchen you have every utensil you could ask for. The roof terrace is great and i notice you have new sun beds. The complex is well looked after and have two good pools.

It is in a good location, five minutes to the supermarket, banks, shops, restaurants and bars, and an extra five minutes to the beach which is excellant. It has a lovely promenade with beach bars along it. It also has good water sports.

You made it easy for us by keeping in touch and arranging everything for us, like airport pick up, showing us round the apartment, also asking if there was anything needed or information.

Could you hold our deposit just know as we will probably return next year again as long as you still have it.

There is still one last plastic one left to be replaced fairly soon so that all four would be of the same quality. Our favourite place in Spain, Los Alcazares!

My wife and I had another fantastic week in sunny Los Alcazares. We have stayed at a number of apartments in the "El Divino" complex and Paul's is up there with the best of them!

From the start of the booking Paul provided excellent communication regarding payments and airport pick up.

We were met at the airport by Sylvia who showed us round the apartment, she was very pleasant and infomative about the apartment and the town/area, we arranged the time for return pick up, again we were collected right on time.

The apartment has everything you need, very clean and tidy. Kitchen is well equipped with the bonus of a washing machine which was great for washing the beach towels.

The bathroom and shower room were spotless.

The roof terrace was excellent to soak up the sun on the comfortable loungers, also to sit in the evening and watch the sun set!

The pools were very clean and really nice to take a dip in to cool down in the afternoon sunshine, the garden areas were all well maintained!

The location of El Divino is very good with only a 5 minute walk to the Mercadona supermarket and numerous restaurants/cafes, a further 5 minutes and you are at the wonderful beach with numerous Tapas bars along the golden beach front.

Our favourite restaurant was "El Patio" less than 5 minutes from the apt.

I was very impressed that Paul returned the damage deposit back to my account within a few days of us returning home.

We hope to return in the future and would certainly recommend the apartment to family and friends.

Terraces, sunshine, what a treat!

Everything you need is here. Clean and tidy apartment, lovely big rooftop terrace and two smaller ones. Paul was fairly swift at replying to any queries we had.It was very hot during our stay( 37 degrees one day) The aircon in the main room was lovely but we found the bedrooms too hot to sleep in even with the fans on, but it was the hottest Summer for 30 years. Also perhaps a folder with leaflets etc would be good- nearest Doctor etc in case of emergency, local attractions etc. It is very cheap to eat out. Bike hire and boat trips great also mud baths at Lo Pagan and large market at Los Narejos on Saturday morning. Sylvia picked us up and returned us to the nearby St Javier airport (ten mins) which was a godsend! She is a lovely lady. Car hire is approx 90 euro for three days from the Post Room in the main square. We will do this next time! Los Alcazares is lovely- the beach, walking around, plenty to do locally, main square very attractive. Thanks Paul, we may well return!

2 great weeks

The apartment lived up to our expectations and more. Very clean, tidy all the comforts of home. The apartment is peaceful and gets the sun all day. The pool area is spotless and very well maintained.

The resort was better than I thought it would be, very busy and lively at night. Some really good places to eat and drink. the apartment is 5 mins from the supermarkets and the start of the bars and restaurants strip. 10 min walk to the lovely beach and very warm Mar Menor.

We would have no problem in booking to go back.

Our favourite corner of the world

Having never booked a holiday like this before I was a bit nervous. From my 1st enquiry the owner could not have been more helpful, even arranging a welcome pack of food for us. On arrival at the apartment after a short journey from the airport, we were greeted by Lorie who showed us round. The apartment was spotless and exactly as described. It was much bigger than the photos truly show. It was like home from home, it had everything we needed. Plenty of towels and linen. The kitchen is very well equipped with every utensil you can buy! The roof terrace is perfect for sunbathing on the sunbeds and the shower up there is great for cooling off. The views are amazing and the area is so quiet. Eating our evening meal on the balcony watching the sun go down was amazing. The communual pool area and gardens are very well maintained. The apartment is only a 5 minute walk to the bars and restaurants and a further 5 to the beach. Best places for tapas are El Torro, Passion and one other we can't remember the name! The Boulevard is a very welcoming bar where you can sit and watch the world go by. At the beach the Principado serves delicious snacks. The only let down was the 525 sport bar. They turned the tv down during a football match as a customer didn't like the noise!! We would definately recommend this apartment to our friends and family. We are hoping to go back next year to the same apartment if the owner still has it. We would like to say a huge thank you to Paul for his excellent customer service throughout our booking.

Los Alcazares is on the Mar Menor of Costa Calida, home to Murcia-San Javier (MJV) Airport. Alicante is approx 45km to the East, with San Javier Pilar De La Horadada San Pedro Cabo Roig La Zenia Playa Flamenca Guadamar etc in between, and Cartagena about 20km to the West. Torre Pacheko to the North is inland about 12km from Los Alcazares. Roda, with its newest Golf Course, is only 2km inland.

Other Activities: Night Club within easy distance and variety of restaurants on the doorstep
