About Sheryl Cassibry
I am a lifelong resident of Memphis, Tn. My husband and I came to Maine on our first trip in the 80's and very much enjoyed the southern part of the state. It wasn't until my best friend bought a cottage in Camden that I discovered how wonderful it is. I immediately started watching the sale of real estate and found Tuck Inn more quickly than I ever dreamed possible. It was one of the best investments we ever made and is a fabulous place to enjoy with our family. We have enjoyed opening our home to others and have met some of the nicest people this way. I am in real estate in Memphis and my husband is an investment banker.
Sheryl Cassibry purchased this House in 2004
Why Sheryl Cassibry chose Camden
Camden is situated in a prime area of the Maine mid-coast region. Travel from Camden, north or south, is easy and because of it's proximity one is able to take day trips to Bar Harbor and Portland and all points in between. It is a quaint and picturesque village and the harbor is the most scenic on the coast.
What makes this House unique
The greatest benefit of staying at Tuck Inn is being able to walk everywhere. The harbor is a quick one block stroll and when parking places are in demand during high season the ability to be in the center of the village within 5 minutes is a definite plus. Tuck Inn is on a pretty side street and has a nice unobstructed view in the back yard because there isn't another house behind. The yard has a table for outdoor dining amid the profusion of colorful flowers and hummingbirds are numerous. The weekly farmer's market is a short walk and has wonderful fresh veggies, cheeses and all sorts of good things for sale.

Great location and comfortable lodgings
Tuck Inn is a delightful home away from home. Comfortable, nicely furnished, well equipped kitchen, lovely yard and flowers. We spent a month in this home and enjoyed the ability to walk to Camden and surrounding areas.
During the few hot days of August we really appreciated the air conditioning. The backyard is perfect for children to run and play and for the adults to relax and enjoy the cool breezes. A very pleasant home to return to after a day of exploring Maine.
Family Friendly Camden Vacation
The 4 of us, including my 7 1/2 yo daughter and 5 1/2 yo son, thoroughly enjoyed this great little house a block or so from the heart of town. We walked nearly everywhere in Camden. There was plenty of room for our family, the kitchen was well stocked, and the backyard was a great place to relax, fly balsawood airplanes and enjoy the lovely weather. By the way, if there is an epic heat wave, as there was the first part of our visit in late July 2010, know that the house has superb window air conditioning units. We were very comfortable.
Don't miss the farmer's market (1 block away), Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Small, but comprehensive; you will find everything there you need for a delicious meal, including flowers and dessert!
Places to eat we liked, all only a few blocks away: Zoot Coffee, French & Brawn (more of a gourmet deli; get the day old bag of pastries!), ice cream and feeding the ducks near Camden Riverhouse Hotel, Camden Deli (sit on the deck upstairs and ask them to add lobster to the gourmet grilled cheese -- my idea), lobster panini at Linda Bean's Perfect Maine Lobster Roll, cocktails and mussels on the deck at Waterfront. Farther out but worth the drive were Waterman's Beach Lobster, South Thomaston (a James Beard Award-winning lobster shack; don't miss the rhubarb pie), and State of Maine Cheese Co. (store) for fresh cheddar curds.
Lots of active things to do: Hike Mt. Battie at Camden Hills State Park (tower on top and a spectacular view of all of Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay), Lake Megunticook (rent a canoe from Maine Sport Outfitters; you'll see loons and bear tracks), climb around on the rocks at low tide at Beauchamp Point and Laite Beach, take a 75-minute boat ride with Captain Jack Lobsterboat Adventures in Rockland to see and learn about the history and current economics of lobstering in Maine, Belted Galloway cows and calves at Aldermere Farm, Owl's Head Lighthouse (first read your children “Lighthouse Dog to the Rescue” by Angeli Perrow, which you can find in local bookstores).
Many museums! Maine Lighthouse Museum, Rockland (no touching), Coastal Children's Museum (small but extremely well done, lots of touching!), Owl’s Head Transportation Museum (no touching but big collection!) and talk to the Rockport Harbor Master, Jodi (she's supernice).
Your best relaxing will happen in the back yard of Tuck Inn. Sit in an Adirondack chair at sunset with a glass of wine. Lounge in the hammock. Ahhhh. Life is good.
Great week in Camden
cute as a button, flowers a special touch, very comfortable cottage and as convenient as one would want to Main Street ( very quiet ) especially appreciative of the large laundry room and as others have already mentioned - kitchen had everything. There were only two in our party which gave us more than enough space. Tastefully furnished - like being in the home of someone who really cared about their guests. we lucked out with perfect weather. Even though both my sister and I are over 60 somthing (new 40) we enjoyed a hike up Mt Battie - a long days triip but doable to drive to Lubec and on to Campobello from Camden. You will find your own favorites around Camden. I would be happy to spend a week at the Come Tuck Inn on another vacation.

Camden is such a great small town to visit. The Tuck Inn Cottage was perfect for our family with such a short walk to the town area for shopping, dining, and visiting with our family in the harbor. The home is charming and very well maintained. It is great for a couple or family.

9/15/08 Early fall is a lovely time to be in Maine and specifically in Camden, staying in Tuck Inn. This was a very clean, well-appointed cottage complete with very comfortable beds and lots of artwork everywhere. The back yard had the most delicious pear tree...lucky for us the pears were at their peak of ripeness during our early September week.
