At one point on the Kohala Coast there is a land outcrop which naturally creates blow holes when the sea surges against the lava cliff. The corner of this 13D upstairs end unit is oriented and set forward to take full advantage of this one-of-a-kind location with a commanding 270 degree panoramic view of the Coastline while maintaining privacy. This Villa is situated midpoint between 2-3 blow holes (depending on the surge) where the sea rolls into the lava wall and sprays in to the air near several historic archaeological sites and fisherman's trail. Only three buildings at top-rated, low-density Hali'i Kai are directly on the oceanfront, and this villa may well have the very best view on the oceanfront row...perhaps even one of the best on the entire Kohala Coast!
It will be hard to drag yourself off the comfortable lanai, so be sure to stock the built-in wet-bar with your favorite beverages and snacks. The home’s orientation also enhances the inside view out windows on both sides of the corner. Behind the view is the premier spacious 2-bedroom floor plan. The home is in pristine condition. The interior of the condo has been completely upgraded with hardwood floors and crown moldings to complement the African mahogany cabinetry. Subzero and Wolf appliances in the kitchen are ready for the serious cook. Quality furnishings and artwork have been selected to provide a counterpoint to the outstanding views. From the master bedroom, you will hear the sound of whales in the winter, and sleep to the slapping of waves year-round. The second bedroom is large enough to serve as a second master. Located at the opposite end of the condo for privacy, it enjoys Mauna Kea views.
Adjacent is the private Ocean Club, just 49 steps away. Recreational improvements include an adult infinity swimming pool, a kiddie swimming pool, Jacuzzi spa, oceanfront open air fitness center and coconut grove area with barbecue grills, hammocks and picnic tables. Tennis and basketball courts are located onsite at the midpoint of Hali'i Kai just a few buildings away. The Ocean Club Bar & Grill serves lunch, dinner, pupus and drinks until past sunset.
The white sand beach of Anaehoomalu Bay is an easy drive or healthy walk away. Check out the new Lava Lava Beach Club! The Kings Shops and Queens Marketplace provide fine shopping, dining and entertainment options, and a gourmet supermarket.

This rare oceanfront unit is perched on a one-of-a-kind location commanding a 270 degree panoramic view of the Kohala coastline, between two to three blowholes in the lava cliff. Welcome to paradise!
The location of this condo is great. We saw lots of whales right out front of the unit. Pool and gym are nice.
My family recently stayed in 13D for a week in January 2017. The realty company was very responsive with calls and texts to ensure arrival/departure were easy. I can't think of how this property could have been any more ideal for a visit to the Big Island. Besides the gorgeous view of the ocean, the unit is stocked with everything you could need for beach days - boogie boards, folding chairs, umbrellas, cooler, etc. The owners also supplied tennis rackets/balls. The pool and gym are steps away and also overlook the ocean. Shopping/dining are within walking distance (about a mile). My family loved staying here!
Well appointed condo with a great view and location. Pool and gym were very handy and the condo complex is close to some good restaurants and shopping.
However the lack of simple amenities was baffling. I have rented condos and houses on the Big Island for 15+ years and this was the first place that did not have a small greeting basket- no cookies, coffee or even a papaya. With the exception of some oil, syrup and garlic powder the cupboards were bare- not even salt and pepper could be found. There wasn't even any facial tissue (but there was a whole case of paper towels!). The bed sheets were to large for the beds and bunched up all night (mom my had the same complaint in the master bedroom) and the carpet in mom's bedroom was dirty.
The above aside we really did enjoy the condo and location so I hesitantly recommend it. If they charged an extra ten bucks a night and addressed the above complaints it would definitely rate five stars!
Just spent another week at 13D in Hali'i Kai.
This was my second stay this year, and it's hard to imagine any other condo in The Islands giving off a better vibe.
The stunning ocean views and incomparable sunsets while sitting on the the lanai are breathtaking.
The unit is very clean, and well-maintained. The two bedrooms are spacious, with the Master having a view of the ocean, and the second bedroom a view of the sunrise.
Kai and Burt responded immediately with any concerns, and the check-in and check-out process was super-easy.
I'll definitely be returning next year. It looks like I'll have to make a reservation a.s.a.p., however, as I notice the calendar is almost completely filled for the first four months. I'm not surprised.
We could not have been more pleased with the property. Whether it was the incredible ocean views, the easy access to shops and restaurants, or the around the corner pool access.
The property was a perfect home base as we explored the island or just relaxed. We grilled out on the back deck watching the beautiful sunset multiple nights and woke up to dolphins swimming up the coast.
Thanks Kai and Burt.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The condo was in perfect condition and very clean. Any concerns were taken care of immediately. The pool, bar and restaurant area are wonderful and so are the people employed there. Top notch in every respect. I would definitely recommend this property and I hope to return soon.
Thanks, Marilyn Avey
