Why Steve and Susan Hord chose Pagosa Springs

We fell in love with Pagosa with the friendly local people, the activities that are available year around, the most beautiful views, and the freshest air.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Had a great time during our Spring Break ski trip. The skiing was great and the cabin made the trip. Beautiful décor, comfortable beds, and plenty of room. Will be looking to rent next year when we come up to Wolf Creek again to ski.

Our children, grandchild and great grandchildren all gathered for a visit. We came from California and they came from Texas. It was well worth the drive. All of us enjoyed staying in such a lovely decorated home and the layout was great. All had a great time. If things go well we hope to do it again at sometime in the future.

Don't miss this cabin in Pagosa Springs, it's great!

  • 5 of 5

Morning coffee on the balcony with a beautiful view, wrapped in a blanket and watching the wildlife wake up, was the very best part of each day. Another favorite was the large late breakfast we had daily from the very well stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed if we cooked in. The great thing was we were just minutes away from great restaurants and shopping in the heart of Pagosa too. Riff Raff Brewing, Tequila, and Rose Cafe are just a few restaurants we would highly recommend. Cabin is an easy day trip to Durango and Mesa Verde to the East and then there is the spectacular drive over Wolf Pass into the quaint town of Creede to the North. Many great hiking trails along the way with incredible views of water falls and the continental divide. After a day of adventures out, it was so perfect to come back to such a clean, homey, comfortable cabin, to relax, play games or just watch the shooting stars from the balcony. We can not recommend this VRBO more highly! Not all hosts are always easy to work with but Steve and Susan are the best! We will tell others and will be back. J&D Norris

Impressive Home.

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with the home. We had a large group and it exceeded our expectations. It was obvious there had been a lot of thought given to what people would need, from the grill on the deck, down to the pack-n-play. It was so enjoyable to watch the deer in the mornings and evenings, something most of us don't see very often. The home was very clean and centrally located to so many activities, e.g. Durango Silverton Train, Hot Springs in Pagosa Springs, and Wolf Creek Pass. This was our first time to stay here and we will be back! We had a great time and would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Perfect in Every Way

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd summer to spend our vacation in Pagosa Springs at the Hord's beautiful home. We had 9 people including our 4 grand kids, and the home had everything to make our stay perfect and worry free. Having a living area both upstairs and down was great when kids wanted to play, but adults wanted to visit. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck eating breakfast each morning watching the deer, rabbits, squirrels and hummingbirds while we planned what adventure we were going to do that day. Coming back after a day of tubing on the San Juan, hiking to Treasure Falls, or fishing at Williams Reservoir, it was fun to grill out on the back deck and then sit out and enjoy the stars as it grew dark. The home is far enough away from the other homes in the neighborhood that you feel secluded and free to hike around without bothering anyone. We enjoyed this home in every way and will definitely be planning a future return visit.

Cozy, close enough to town, beaautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect for our stay in Pagosa Springs, being close enough to town and the San Juan river and yet out away enough to be surrounded by pine and aspen and wildlife. We met our relatives there who have 3 children, now in middle school and high school and they loved the big checkers game and others provided in the home. We brought a jigsaw puzzle and used the card table and chairs in one of the closets to set it up, we then proceeded to do some of the puzzles provided there. We tubed down the San Juan one day using the tubes and shuttle from Pagosa Outside. Another day we just played in the water downtown. We took awesome hikes, and even played a round of disc golf at a course in the pines close to the post office downtown. We spent time on the deck and saw deer, including 2 fawns with their mom while we were out there. We also spotted a hot air balloon over the line of trees in the distance. The home was comfortable and fit 7 of us easily. We would return to this nice home in the woods. The home was clean, well equipped and we made almost all of our meals in the kitchen, it was nice to have a large table to sit around for dinner, or TV trays if watching a movie. We hope to return here someday. We like that the wood and fireplace were neatly set up for using, though it was warm and we were not in need of that this time of year. The owner also emailed me with details about activites they thought we might enjoy.
