Jed - Thanks for the five star review! Please come back and stay with us again.
Our stay at Elsewhere was fun, pampered, and relaxed. The property is beautiful and the accommodations were top notch, akin to the Four Seasons; only more private. That said, the real rock stars were Kassandra, Ms. Delores, Kemoy and Rafic; the Elsewhere staff. All four were very attentive to our group, ranging in age from 16 months to 68 years old.
Kassandra’s cooking and baking were impeccable, Michelin worthy. She can whip up any and everything and easily accommodated our finicky but ultimately satisfied eaters!
Miss Delores kept the home spotless. She is up at the crack of dawn; cleaning up the patio from the late-night fun from the previous night and ensured that coffee and tea were ready before we all got up. She took great care of our clothes and even ironed them.
Mr. Rafic, a gentle and kind soul took great care of the lawn and pool. He stepped into various roles to ensure that we were taken care of, from butler to bartender. He was also fabulous with the little ones, who sought him out daily for his milkshakes and warm smile.
Kemoy wore many hats, from concierge, butler, bartender, chef, and boat captain. He answered all of our questions and served as our personal tour guide. His artisan cocktails were delicious. He coordinated, in timely fashion, our activities and whatever else we needed, including arranging someone to braid my two daughter’s hair.
Last but not least; the owner Connie was extremely helpful and easy to work with. She was responsive and did a great job coordinating with the staff.
We’ll be back, without a doubt!
Thank you, Ketch, and I am glad you all enjoyed your vacation! We hope to see you again soon.
Second time was better than the first!!
This was our second stay at elsewhere and it won’t be our last. It’s the one vacation where I leave feeling rested and relaxed. The staff goes above and beyond taking care of every single need and are truly amazing people. Kasandra’s cooking and baking is outstanding. Kemoy makes yummy drinks, takes care of anything you need and now captains the boat. Dolores keeps the house in impeccable shape your entire stay. Rafic was new this year and a great addition, he helped with everything when it was needed. My entire family loves this staff and obviously can’t say enough great things about them.
The property is gorgeous and Connie the owner is great to work with. There’s something to do for everyone. You can relax by the pool, sit with your toes in the sand, kayak, paddle board or go on a boat ride. If you didn’t leave the property (but you should there’s amazing places to see while visiting) you would have enough to do just at elsewhere.
Overall this is my favorite rental and we will be coming back!
Lacey, thanks for the review and I am so glad you took advantage of our boat, Anywhere, and took the Montego Bay Tour by sea. Thank you for coming back to Elsewhere and we look forward to hosting your family again!
It’s been a family tradition for the past six years to honor our grandchildren when they graduate high school and college. This year we had two graduations among our six grands and wisely celebrated at “Elsewhere By The Sea.” There were 12 of us in our group, ages 13 to 78 and the beautiful, roomy house suited us perfectly with its five bedroom, en suite arrangement.
We were warmly greeted by the wonderful staff of four—Kemoy, Kasandra, Delores and Rafic. Friendly, considerate, kind, hardworking, they made our week very special. Kasandra’s cooking was superb and bountiful. We suggested she “do her own thing” and were treated to numerous Jamaican dishes, served by Kemoy and/or Racif. Delores kept the house spotless and was charming, while Racif kept the pool and lovely grounds in perfect order every day. These four are multi-tasking gems!
The house is beautifully designed and exceeded our expectations! We were overwhelmed by the exquisite view upon entering the two-story foyer and seeing the expansive bay through the living room onto the huge lanai. The lanai was our daily gathering place, starting with Delores bringing out a large coffee urn with either toast and jam, small croissants or mini-muffins every morning at 7:00. The grands usually chose to sleep in while their parents and us grandparents enjoyed this early morning special time. We all gathered for breakfast, which we opted for at 9:00. Dinners were varied and excellent. The desserts divine!
Kemoy is always on hand to prepare a favorite cocktail at the lanai bar. He also acts as captain of the boat that took us out one morning for snorkeling. Or one can opt for a sunset cruise. We enjoyed the house passes for Hard Rock Cafe beach, a mere 15-minute walk away. We often used the paddle boards and two, two-person kayaks. A special treat our last night was to gather on the lawn to be entertained by a delightful quartet who sang numerous calypso songs for over an hour.
We took an all day excursion to Ocho Rios where we had a blast at Blue Hole. It’s unlike the highly touristy Dunn’s River Falls, but is way off the beaten path up in the hills. What fun leaping or rope swinging into water, climbing down a waterfall (yes, down!). The kids loved it!
We also visited the Luminous Lagoon in Falmouth, where micro-organisms give off a phosphorescent blue glow when you are swimming!
We highly recommend “Elsewhere By The Sea” for an outstanding, memory-filled, family vacation! GO!
Thanks, Ray, for the lovely review and bringing your fun family to stay! We hope you can come back again for your next special family trip.
Everything you read about Elsewhere is True and even better!
This property, staff, manager and owner are unbelievable. They all do everything humanly possible to make it a perfect vacation. You read the reviews and see all the compliments, and there is a reason! Yes, Kassandra’s cooking is the best, Yes, Kemoy arranges all the details for any excursion you’d like to pursue and makes fabulous drinks. Yes, Delores is a sweetheart that is a natural momma to us all — especially any children with you — in addition to keeping the house in perfect order, and last, but certainly not least, is Rafic. Someone referred to him as a Gentle Giant (i liked the characterization and thought it was very accurate). He not only cares for the yard, beach and pool, but also steps in to serve meals and make drinks or whatever else is needed. The one comment I’ll make that I didn’t see “elsewhere” — haha play on the name — is that the staff and the owner work together fabulously as a team. I didn’t realize each of the staff members had a day off, they seamlessly covered for each other. I’ll also note that we were celebrating two birthdays, two college graduations, and Father’s Day for two Dads. They made each of these days special! They picked out a birthday gift (a soccer ball) for my grandson that clearly demonstrated they were paying attention to what might be appropriate as his Dad was watching the Women’s soccer cup on television. The birthday boy and many others enjoyed kicking the ball around the yard!
Connie handled so many details for us beforehand — most notably a fishing charter just a day and a half after we arrived. Kemoy’s recommendation to go with Reel Magic landed us a 48 lb Mahi-mahi which Kassandra served during two dinners during the week. Captain Craig at Reel Magic also offered to take us on a private outing to Glistening Waters. Wow!
Our driver Trevor was always there on time, and didn’t get too upset with us when we canceled our plans on Wednesday at the last minute. We just needed a day of rest to enjoy the pool and beach at Elsewhere. When we went to Negril Beach, Trevor set us up at the beach at a location where we had access to bath house and other facilities. After a little while at the beach, he took us over to Rick’s cafe. Eight out of ten of us jumped off the cliff!
If you are reading this review, I hope you get the opportunity to visit yourself. We all hope we can return, and our group ranging from 2 years to 65 years of age all agree it was the best vacation ever!
What a great week you had and I am so glad you all enjoyed the villa, the staff and your adventures. Please come see us again!
"Best vacation ever"
This stay was beyond amazing.....the property was immaculate and the staff was amazing.
From the time we arrived and were greeted at the airport to the welcome we received on the lawn of the property by the whole staff we were treated to the best service you could ask for.
The property and its proximity to the ocean was a winner for my grand kids to be able to see all of the marine life up close.
The Sunset cruise is a must as Kemoy was the best explaining the plant life and wild life.
Cassandra is an absolute magician in the kitchen....I tried and loved culinary creations that I knew I would not like but to my pleasant surprise I loved and will try my best to replicate.
Rafic was ready to answer any questions my kid and grand kid had about the almond trees, avocado tree and all the beautiful flowers and vegetation that were on the property.
Deloris was so sweet to my grand kids and my kids....she reminded me of my dear grandmother when I was a teenager.
Connie was wonderful throughout the whole process making sure we arrived safely and that our needs were being attended to.
I think my grand daughter summed it up on more than one occasion during our stay by constantly repeating "Pop Pop and Ni Ni this is the best vacation ever!" and I would have to agree with her
I am sure you could find other properties in the Caribbean but I don't believe you will be able to find one that can replicate the experience provided by Elsewhere by the Sea and its staff.
Thank you, Paul and Sherry! So glad your growing family enjoyed your visit to Elsewhere and Jamaica.
