This charming full-of-light two-bedroom apartment is in an historic Dupont Circle brownstone in the heart of the city.
The furnishings are new with contemporary decor. The well-stocked kitchen has everything you need to cook your own delicious meals. For extra convenience the washer-and-dryer unit will come in handy on steamy August afternoons.
The living room is bright and sunny and opens on to a private balcony with rocking chairs. A separate roof-top deck with dining area, comfy deck chairs and barbeque overlooks a scenic southern skyline. The two beautifully decorated bedrooms have queen-sized beds in addition to a 42-inch flat screen plasma TV with premium cable TV to stay on top of the news, your favorite baseball team, or the latest installment of Downton Abby. The apartment has WIFI as well.
One of the most preferred neighborhoods in DC, our Dupont Circle brownstone rests on a quiet street. Steps from the front door you will find restaurants, a grocery store, drug store, dry cleaner and yoga studio. Just a few blocks away, exciting nightlife, highly rated restaurants, theatre and shopping in all directions, from Connecticut Avenue (a main thoroughfare) to 14th Street, (a fashionable boulevard).
Just four blocks away, the architecturally magnificent DC subway can take you to the most popular sites: the Smithsonian, the Capitol building, monuments, and Arlington Cemetery, to name a few. The White House is a 10-block walk. Rent a bike just around the corner and peddle your way through the city at a leisurely place, or through the historic and scenic Rock Creek Park bicycle path (14 miles end-to-end).
Our personal favorite monument is National Ball Park, a short subway ride away.
The building is secure and there is a private entrance. The owner is on the premises.
Off-street parking is available for our visit, which can be a relief and time-saver considering the competition for limited street parking.
Your pets are welcome and will enjoy meeting other tail waggers in a gated dog park one block away.
Quality blow-up mattress available on request.
We are a happy family will five grown children and six grandchildren. We love our home and are eager for our guests to have a relaxed and fun visit.
Located in the heart of the historic, charming and vital Dupont Circle neighborhood. Victorian Brownstone just minutes from the most popular DC attractions. Proximity to DC finest dining. Very kid and pet friendly! One-half block from both a playground and a dog park. Free secure parking.
This property combines the best of DC. We are located in an historic, exciting and charming neighborhood but just minutes from the most popular sites in DC.
This was the perfect place for our family trip to DC. The apartment is clean and cute and we spent a lot of time on the balcony and rooftop porch. Parking is a major bonus. The location is great. The neighborhood is full of great restaurants, a grocery store, pharmacy, everything you need. It's just a couple blocks to the Metro or a good walk to the White House, about 10 blocks. We were able to bring our dog and with a dog park a block away and Dupont Circle just 3 blocks away, it made our trip so much better. The owners were great, friendly and accommodating, even offering extended parking on checkout day if we had more sights to see. I would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed staying in this rental for our DC spring break vacation. We have a 16 year old and a 14 year old and it was handy to have the 2 bedrooms plus the air mattress for one of them to sleep on. We also enjoyed having the 2 decks to spend time using in the evenings. It was close (4 blocks) to the dupont circle metro and it was very handy having the little safeway store right around the corner. I'm only giving it a 4 out of 5 because the place could use a little maintenance but overall we did like staying here and would stay here again.
We just returned home from spending 3 nights at Deborah and Kim's house right off of Dupont Circle. The location is fabulous, we could get anywhere very easily walking, bike riding or using Uber. I highly recommend renting bikes for the day from Bikes to Borrow - they delivered bikes to the house and picked them up when we were done. We didn't have to worry about the constraints of using Capitol Bikeshare (since it was a very busy spring break time). It was great to have 2 bedrooms and a place to hang out and watch tv after a long day and the full kitchen allowed us to eat breakfast there each morning before heading out. Kim was very helpful in meeting us on our arrival, helping get our car situated in the parking area and showing us around the house. Everything was great and I highly recommend this listing (unless you have mobility issues as there are lots of stairs to get in).
This property is in a good area and was clean and the owners, who live on the 2nd floor of the building are very nice. They furnish a lot of extras, like shampoo & conditioner, laundry detergent and some spices, which is very helpful. Its literally 1/2 block to the grocery & McDonalds and across the street from a little restaurant/pizza place. Its about 3-4 blocks to the subway. They were very accommodating in letting us park our car there early. The things I would suggest that you know before going is that the walls are very thin (as in you can hear everything outside) which is probably normal for row houses. I would suggest that the mattress in the back room be replaced as its forming a dip in the center, that the locks on both doors be fixed, as the striker plate on the back door is missing, so you can only use the deadbolt, and the deadbolt on the front door doesn't work. Also, the rollers on bottom tray on the dishwasher, probably need replaced to bigger ones, because every time you open in, it falls down in the door. One last suggestion is that if you have a car, be careful of the gate that you have to open to get in and out, its not very friendly and not easy (will pinch you if you dont be careful) BUT we were thankful to have a place to park. Nothing major wrong here.
Overall, this place worked well for us and with a few small items mentioned fixed it would be a 5 star place. I would recommend it.
We couldn't have asked for a better place for our time in DC for the marathon. The beds and couch were super comfortable and it was a nice environment to relax...and yet to be able to hear all of the city sounds. The decks made such wonderful night experiences. Our gurls, 3 and 6, thought it was so cool to see the stars and the city! We are too surrounded by trees to ever see stars. Overall, really happy with it all. Everything you need is within a 5 mins walk. Great restaurants...cool neighborhoods. We felt completely safe and at home. Thank you so much for everything. I hope we are able to return and spend a romantic weekend alone.
My family of four did a family vacation in Feb. To Washington. This apartment made the stay wonderful. The owner Kim, will make you feel like you are at home. We hope to return soon.
