I work full-time at area hospital, my family also lives in or near Arcadia. I have family ties to Arcadia going back six generations.
Janet Rich purchased this house in 2000
I love Arcadia and I would like make it affordable for others to enjoy the beauty and activities of this area. I'm hoping you will love it here and come back to visit our area year after year.
My access to Lake Michigan, Petoskey stone hunting, my two decks - front and back of house, my wonderful neighbors, and quiet evenings for peaceful nights' sleep.
Nice location from the water and close to alot of cool places to visit but it's advertised as a no smoking house which is not true. I rented for a week and by the 4th or 5th day it was time to go. Good things going for it but the stink from cigarettes really shot it in the butt. Sorry but that's the way it is.
We loved our stay at Arcadia in Janets home. Plenty of room to stretch out and complete with washer and dryer so we could do some laundry at weeks end. Four blocks from Camp Arcadia on Lake Michigan, where our daughter in law was speaking that week, made it a perfect place to be nearby but not "in the fray". Loved it. And Arcadia is so laid back and sweet... reminded us of days gone by. Kids biking in the street, people saying hello from their porches. Wonderful. Go!
We enjoyed our stay in Arcadia - this home is in a lovely area, a comfortable place to stay, and the owner was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed visiting Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, several of northwestern Michigan's small towns, and returning to sit out on the front porch in the evening.
Lovely un-crowded sandy beaches and amazing sunsets on Lake Michigan. Vista views from roadways and quiet waterways to canoe and kayak on. Nearby is the Betsie Valley bike trail and a number of beautiful Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy hiking trails.
Four very nice golf courses within 15 minutes of driving. (Numerous others within 20 minutes.)
Little River Casino is about 17 miles south of Arcadia.
Within 20 miles is Frankfort, Manistee, Crystal Lake, Onekama, Beulah, Bear Lake, and Benzonia.
