I was born in Nimes and grew up in the area (I have been to Lycee Alphonse Daudet, college Revolution). My husband and I are visiting the villa 3-4 times a year when we visit our relatives with our children. This is our home in France enhance why we like the comfort and we have many dinner parties (ie: lots of plates and cutelery, our children leaves some of their toys/bikes so they can play.
Stephanie Shaw purchased this villa in 2003
My mum leaves in the village next door, so we have a feel that we are on holiday in our home and she is only 2km away.
As we own the villa for some times, we have known many people in the village and we have very good contacts with all the neighbours around us.
This was a wonderful relaxing holiday blessed with lots of spring sunshine! The villa is excellent, well equipped and cared for - and the pool (and relaxing sheltered surroundings ) a real treat.
We enjoyed visits to Anduze, Pont du Gard, Uzes and St Jean du Gard; explored lots of the local mediaeval villages; picnics by the River Gardon; and lots of flowers, butterflies and birds.
We had a great time in this house ! This house is very nice, well maintained, and located in a quiet area. The swimming pool was very appreciated by our children.
We visited Nimes, Uzès, Alès, Vézenobres, Anduze, Pont du Gard and the Camargue. Maybe we have to come back to see Montpellier and Avignon !
We have stayed at this property for a total of five summers starting in 2007. You could say we like it, and we certainly do. We have visited France many times and have stayed in many properties over the years. We can honestly say that this is one of the best. It is ideally situated to visit the many sights in the region. The owners, Stephanie and Robert, make improvements to the villa each year. We have met them and they are a charming and very helpful young couple. The villa is attractive, has a pretty enclosed garden with a large swimming pool. The whole property is clean, well-maintained with many facilities that are now the expected norm. The livingroom has an enormous flat-screen television that receives English, Freeview and French programmes. The air conditioning in the main bedroom is particularly welcome on hot summer nights. Places to see and restaurants in the area are too numerous to mention. However, we would recommend a visit to the Tourist Information Office in Uzes where there are lots of brochures and the staff are very helpful. Also the Visitors Book in the villa is well worth a read regarding what to see, do and where to eat (including many honest comments worth noting). Uzes is one of our favourite places. It has lots of charm with excellent cafes, bars and restaurants: absolutely wonderful for people-watching. Although it is just the two of us, the villa is ideal for families - the pool will be particularly enjoyed by children, teenagers and adults alike. We usually take two days to get there and two days to return staying in Premiere Classe Hotels (Rouen/Clermont Ferrand going and Bourges/Boulogne homeward), both via the Channel Tunnel. In a nut-shell: the area is breathtakingly beautiful (ideal for art and history lovers) the villa is excellent and we thoroughly recommend it without hesitation.
