Why worry--you're in Penticton!
From water sports to mountaineering, this part of BC has it all. And don't forget, of course, the world class wineries!
Arguably one of the best locations in Penticton with a country, private feel yet just minutes by foot to a vibrant downtown and Okanagan Lake. Equally beautiful Skaha Lake is minutes by bike to the south side of town. With the Trans-Canada Trail literally on the front porch, ride the bicycle trails to the lakes and the wine benches of Naramata. Circle the town lake to lake on the Channel bike path--or float down an inner-tube, a popular Penticton pastime!
Park the car and cycle to your heart's content. Short walk to downtown and Okanagan Lake. Relax tto the sounds of Penticton Creek.
Such a beautiful little home near downtown Penticton. John and Marilyn have done a great job creating this cozy little paradise with wonderful outdoor spaces and lush gardens. The perfect place for our little family! We brought our bikes and rode all over town, from one beach to the other. Literally steps from the KVR trail, we had little reason to use our car. Rode our bikes a few blocks to the Hooded Merganser for breakfast the first morning and had a wonderful breakfast on the patio overlooking the lake. Spent one morning walking Main St from end to end, just a short distance from the house. This was everything we had hoped for in our vacation.
We loved our stay at this Penticton cottage. The gardens front and back, were beautiful. We used both depending on the sun. The kitchen was well stocked and the entire cottage very clean. The property has been updated but has kept the craftsman feel of the home with beautiful stained glass windows and other unique touches.
The Kettle Valley trail runs right beside it and we biked to Lake breeze winery one day and had a lovely lunch over looking the lake. The next day we biked to Okanagon falls, a 50ishKM bike ride round trip, mostly along the second lake.
Walking along the creek path, you will come to the Penticton public beach. Nice but quite busy.
We walked pretty much everywhere from the cottage - dinner, shops, coffee houses etc. Enjoyed wine and cheeses we picked up at the wineries on the back patio to finish off most our days. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking to stay in Penticton.
We went to Penticton to attend a wedding, it was an absolutely lovely stay. The gardens were a magnificent addition to the beautiful home. The home was well stocked to accomodate our family. The home was well stocked to afford the luxury of staying in and enjoying a meal with the family , the area was quiet and private.
We enjoyed being able to walk to the great coffee shops, restaurants etc , and down to the beach for the day !!
The owners offered some great ideas of where to go / what to do in the area. They were wonderful people
The main bed was a little on the firm side for our liking, but a minimal negative for a wonderful week.
The kids were even gushing about the home and location, not something usually heard from teenagers.
The cottage is cute and cozy, with all amenities one may need on vacation including a great selection of DVD titles for every taste. The owners are very helpful. Penticton has to offer a couple of long sandy beaches on two lakes (one within a walking distance), scenic roads for avid cyclists, great hikes and wineries. I recommend it to everyone.
World class wine and wineries.
