You will not find a better location in Ouray. This home is within walking distance to virtually everything in the town. The home is exactly as pictured. The inside of the house has been updated very nicely with the exception of the window coverings, which are pleated paper shades that have to be folded up and down and secured with clothespins. The beds and linens are adequate at best. Also, please note that this property does NOT have air conditioning (although we were told few properties in Ouray are) and there are no ceiling fans. One standing fan was provided and the caretaker was kind to bring us another fan when we inquired about how warm it was in the house. I think it was unusually warm while we were visiting Ouray, but it was definitely uncomfortably warm in the house for sleeping at night. We would not recommend this house to anyone needing handrails for support when climbing the steps to the porch, as they were just about to fall apart. The location and great front porch do make up for some of the shortfalls of this property, but with just a few small improvements this could be the perfect Ouray rental property!
Well maintained! All amenities, perfect location, excellent service! Our stay couldn't have been better.
We left behind a stuffed animal (our daughter's favorite) and I emailed the property's manager about it. Not only did he check with housekeeping, email me back promptly, AND return it by mail, he personally called to let us know where it was found and that it would be arriving home safely! Fantastic experience!
We really enjoyed well appointed and well maintained property. Furnishings were high qualitiy, and all amenities were on site and funtional. No problems encountered. Aside from the property itself, the location can't be beat. Located at the north end of the downtown pedestrian corridor. Walking distance to public hot springs pool, hiking trails and the Ouray Ice Park. Groceries, many fine restaurants, gift shopping, liquor store, and a top quality mountain sporting goods store within a couple.of blocks or les. Our first choice of a.place to spend a few days in Ouray!
We spent 2 weeks at this charming comfortable house on Main Street. Even though it is on the main street it is very quiet inside. It sits back from the street and has a large covered front porch that we enjoyed sitting out drinking our morning coffee and evening beverage. This home has been remodeled and updated. Pride of ownership shines through out. The furniture and beds are very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped for your cooking if you so choose. Being in town, we walked to the shops and restaurants. The Bon Ton restaurant is outstanding ! Cascade Falls is a short walk away right up the hill or you can take a longer hike right from the falls on the Perimeter Trail and fall in love with Ourays' breath taking beauty. We plan on returning in the fall and have already reserved the Caldwell House
