Hale O' Honu'ea: Stay in this beautifully furnished 2 bedroom townhome, with polished granite and stainless steel gourmet kitchen, 2 1/2 baths and 1 car garage and relax in over 1600 square feet of indoor living in a spacious open layout.
The tranquil Lanai off the main floor includes a wet bar, Viking grill/rotisserie and dining seating for 6.
The floor plan here is ideal for privacy and comfort with both bedrooms upstairs away from the main living area and on far ends of the home, each with an ensuite full bathroom.
The master suite includes a den sitting area, ensuite with jacuzzi tub and private lanai that together with the downstairs lanai extends the living space to over 2000 square feet. Enjoy the view of the naturalized golf course landscaping and the 11th green of the north course in the distance.
Your stay at Hale O' Honu'ea includes a gate pass to owners parking at the semi-private Beach Club with ocean-side restaurant, coral reef snorkeling and white sand beach. Covered cabanas and sunbathing chairs are on the beach for guests of property owners only, so all you need to bring are the towels, boogie boards and sand toys that we provide and your sunblock!
Water enthusiasts can rent stand-up paddle boards, surf boards, outriggers and other equipment adjacent to the beach or even join a snorkel, whale-watch (in season), scuba dive, or sunset cruise.

My wife and I have a young family and we have been visiting the Hawaiian islands for almost a decade to escape the cold winters (and even the cool summers) of the Pacific Northwest. We are both competitive athletes and have done dozens of marathons and triathlons all over the world including Ironman distance races. In fact, we first found the Fairways at Mauna Lani racing the Honu 70.3.
We have 2 young children and enjoy traveling anywhere we can enjoy good food, good weather, different cultures - and still play in the outdoors.

We found ourselves returning to Mauna Lani more than any place else in the tropics. What we love most about Mauna Lani is that it offers privacy away from the crowds elsewhere yet offers the convenience of close by restaurants and shops when you want them. It has beautiful calm waters for safe snorkeling, waves (when you want them) for surfing, and nature abounds with the turtles, coral reef, dolphin and whale sightings. There are miles of running and cycling right out the door.
We stayed at other properties within Mauna Lani but feel that the grounds, large free form pool, spa and location of the Fairways are the perfect combination of private yet convenient to the amenities of the rest of the resort as it is close enough to walk to the Fairmont Orchid and Shops of Mauna Lani.
We chose Hale O' Honu'ea because of all the floorplans we've stayed in Mauna Lani, it suits our family and friends the best. All bedrooms are upstairs which makes us feel safe; the bedrooms are on opposite ends of the townhome so they feel private; each has it's own ensuite bathroom for convenience; the open floor plan of the main living space and windows on the upper floor allow the island breeze to move through.
We've made updates to make it even more comfortable and hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Our daughter named 'Hale O' Honu'ea', Home of the Hawksbill Turtle. In conjunction with Oahu's Sea Life Park, Mauna Lani Resort raises honu (the green sea turtle) releases them when mature, helping the comeback of honu. The native Hawksbill turtle, or Honu'ea, is more endangered and the Big Island is one of it's few nesting places. Our family hopes someday to see the Honu'ea frequenting the waters of Mauna Lani too.
We are transitioning to our condo to be more 'green'. We've installed ceiling fans and screens to enjoy the island breeze. We provide personal amenity dispensers that reduce plastic bottle waste of typical hotel 'travel size' products. We are converting to CFL and LED lighting. We've chosen BPA-free acrylics for outdoor drinkware. We provide environmentally responsible detergents and will continue to transition to like products throughout Hale O' Honu'ea. We admit that we have far to go, but we feel these small steps are all in the right direction to protect the natural beauty of this special place.
We had a great time in this property for our family vacation. We were a family of 4, with 2 teenage boys. It was very clean and well kept with plenty of amenities. The boys loved riding the bikes and we enjoyed the pool several times. We made dinner in and packed lunch, water and snacks for the beach in the bags and coolers provided. Great location for beaches and sight seeing in the area. Very responsive and helpful owners made it a great vacation for us and to be prepared for our trip. We only regret not having more time to see more of the island.
Very clean and spacious rooms. Master suite and second bedroom are actually separate suites allowing for great privacy. Private lanai on both floors. This home faces lush green vegetation and golf course views instead of other condos. Top quality kitchen and outdoor Viking grill. The beach toys (snorkels, fins and boards) were all very good quality.
Our family of four loved this condo. It had everything we needed for our vacation at Christmas, and Sonia was so gracious in answering my many questions. We especially loved the Beach Club where we lounged in the cabanas, and snorkeled almost every day. We will definitely stay here again if the home is avaiable.
This property worked really well for our purposes while visiting family. All the little things you could ask for were available in the bathrooms, garage and kitchen, as well as great instructions for how to get around the complex and the area. We appreciated that there was a dedicated parking garage, as opposed to just strictly street parking. The owner's responses to all our inquiries were very prompt. The jacuzzi on site is awesome. We hope to be able to stay here again and would highly recommend it to any interested parties. Thanks so much for a wonderful time!
We were just two people rambling around in this large 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home - but not complaining. The furnishings, linens and kitchen amenities were great. Loved the air conditioning - which was absolutely necessary.
Beaches, restaurants, a good grocery store, and even petroglyphs were close by. An ocean view would have been nice, but then I'm sure we would have had to pay a lot more. Beautiful place to stay!
Oh where to start! Wonderful experience from start to end. Owner Sonia goes above and beyond to make her townhome a wonderful place to stay in. We have no words to express our gratitude. We have rented several places through VRBO in different parts of the country and this one takes the cake, A+ customer service. Sonia your attention to detail to your home and your excellent customer service, from mailing us the island guide magazine before our trip and to the umbrella situation...wow!!
