what a brilliant place, fantastic views from the patio a real pleasure to wake up to. For us the holiday is essentially a relaxing break away from it all an Tim & Corinne have certainly created the means for us to achieve
that. we made great use of the excellent pool; The bottle of wine and the food provided at the start of our holiday by Corinne was a real welcome & the change of linen each week was an added bonus.
many thanks to Tim & Corinne

Very relaxing holiday, gite well equipped. Pool great. A real luxury to have our beds & towels changed during
our stay 'a first'. Thanks to Tim & Corinne for their hospitality.

A lovely, well equipped gite in a quiet rural setting, close to a farm. Fabulous clean pool with views over surrounding countryside. Great for the kids. Friendly and helpful owners on site but not at all intrusive. Close to beautiful towns including St Cyprient (Great Sunday market), Sarlat and the stunning Beynac-et-Cazenac. Perfect.
This gite exceeded our expectations, the best gite we have yet experienced especially in terms of equipment provided and quality of finish. The photos and description on the web just do not do it justice!
The pool was exceptional - large, deep and warm - much closer to property than expected with plenty of loungers and parasols provided.
Lovely patio/garden with good views - morning and evening.
Lots of local info provided and welcoming pack.
La Bergerie offers exactly "What it says on the Tin". An idyllic base to explore the extravaganza of sights the Dordogne region has to offer. The cottage has everything one needs from a well appointed kitchen that included a separate wine fridge, to the use of a secluded pool that would obviously be very popular in the summer holiday season. With a well stocked supermarket and good village restaurant within ten minutes by car one can enjoy the options of lazy barbecues, good cheeses and wine, a good read and siesta chez La Bergerie, or visit perhaps Sarlat or Dom for the day. Your owner hosts ensure the property is maintained to a high standard and we frankly were hardly aware that they live next door. The visitors book bears testament to holidays enjoyed by both couples and families. Town market days are always worth a visit and we were able to enjoy the one at St Cyprien although the price of coffee out on the street was exorbitant not helped by the rate of sterling/euro exchange. We flew from Southampton to Bergerac with Flybe that worked well for us, but make sure you check out the full cost of hiring a car which is essential for this holiday venue. We found the luxury of a spacious car for four adults from Avis was more than the cottage rental! La Bergerie is situated a little off the beaten track adjacent to a farm but the joining instructions do find their way there past a kennel of excellent looking hunting bloodhounds and rabbit pens.
Brush up your french and enjoy France in one of it's nicer areas.
In all the time that we have spent on holiday in France - last 25 years- this was the first time that we had a change of bed linen after the first week and you truly will not want for any home comforts as Tim and Corrine have thought of everything. The only negative thing would be that the lighting in the bedrooms is not as bright as it would be at home - a complaint from the female section of my party - personally it was Ok. The location is set high in the valley and is very peaceful without being to isolated - a few neighbours within view, it is within a short car ride of many of the beauties of the Dordogne. Nothing was to much trouble for Tim and Corrine and I can recommend that you try some of the delights of their wine shop. We had a wonderful time and have no hesitation in recommending this property we certainly would return at some time in the future. Ray and Gwen.
The gite is surrounded by pasture land, so we enjoyed hearing and watching the cows. Tim and Corinne had stocked the refrigerator, so our week got off to a great start. We found the gite to be in an ideal location for day trips to other villages. We ate at Le Bistrot in Castels on 2 evenings and were impressed by the excellent food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return again!
If you are looking for some peace and quiet, culture, historical sites, good food and wine and friendly people then come here. We spent two wonderful weeks in La Bergerie this year. Our hosts Corinne and Tim were more than helpful. The house, especially the kitchen is very well equipped. With two teenagers we thought the two bathrooms were ideal. After visiting sites during the day we really enjoyed swimming in the pool, which was always lovely and warm. Thanks for Corinne for our goodies in the fridge upon arrival and the change of linen, towels, teatowels and even bathing towels after one week also Tim`s excellent wines! We think a car here is a must - no buses. Reminded us of The Cotswolds in UK. Lots of things to do for young and old. Tourist info in nearly every village. Advantage if you have a sat nav and can speak some French. If we go to Perigord again we will definitely come here.
The barn is in a great location within 4 km of St Cyprien a typical Dordogne market town (it's Sunday market) built on a hillside surrounding an ancient Abbey, 4 km from Le Coux & it's superb river beach, Siorac 2 golf courses & supermarket & 10 km from le Bugue (4 supermarkets & touristic sights). La Bergerie is 13 km from Les Eyzies: prehistoric caves, the brand new national Prehistoric Museum & canoeing, within 30 minutes of Sarlat the famous medieval city. The area has many good food & wine shops not to mention the restaurants. The gite is at the top of a small valley overlooking the Dordogne valley but in a very peaceful setting. Off the beaten track it offers all the necessary facilities and services but is very restful for those who are seeking calm & great views.
Other Activities: Visiting castles, prehistoric caves, museums & wine chateaux
